【Abstract】Blockchain Technology (BCT) is an important and emerging sub discipline in information technology that is progressively being implemented in every field. This study used a quantitative research approach to identify the key factors influencing the acceptance of Blockchain Technology (BCT) implementation and usage among university librarians in Pakistan. In this research Modified Technology Acceptance Model (MTAM) applied as the theoretical framework to assess the participants' perceptions of various constructs. These include, ease of blockchain technology use, usefulness, librarians' behavioral intentions, skills, organizational infrastructure and performance by the implementations of BCT. A cross-sectional survey was conducted targeting 255 university librarians from both public and private institutions in Pakistan. The research received high response rate of 89.41% (228 responses). The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) utilized on Partial Least Squares (PLS) to analyze the data. The research findings revealed that all hypotheses based on the Modified Technology Acceptance Model (MTAM) were statistically significant. While BCT-based services are being introduced in Pakistani university libraries, full implementation remains lacking. Notably, the attitude of librarians was identified as the most influential factor for the development of BCT. This research contributes to the academic discourse by proposing a modified MTAM model within the context of BCT adoption in university libraries. The findings have also, both theoretical and practical implications, offering a framework for developing strategies to enhance BCT implementation in university libraries across Pakistan.
