【Abstract】This study investigates the relationship between the daily returns of cryptocurrencies and their realized performance measure and moments (variance, skewness, and kurtosis). Because the cryptocurrency returns are non-Gaussian distributions and perform bubble-like behaviors, we adopt the performance measure proposed by Schnytzer and Westreich (2013) to capture all informational content related to the distribution of a return. First, the empirical results revealed that there is a positive relationship between the realized performance measure and daily returns. Furthermore, this realized performance measure dominates the realized variance, skewness, and kurtosis in terms of affecting and predicting Bitcoin and Ethereum daily returns.

【Abstract】Purpose Blockchain is increasingly being considered for applications in operations and supply chain management. However, evidence from practice is still scarce on why, where and how organizations seek to apply the technology in the supply chain across different industries. The study develops a comprehensive framework to enhance understanding of the application areas of blockchain technology in the supply chain, as well as organizations' motivations in seeking blockchain solutions and relevant contingency factors influencing applications. Design/methodology/approach The authors investigate 50 use cases of blockchain applications in the supply chain, covering six industries. Contingency theory is applied in conducting a qualitative textual and correlation analysis to identify and compare blockchain adoption motivations, application areas and contingency factors across different industries. Findings The analysis develops an evidence-based framework that captures ten principal motivations in seeking blockchain solutions, three main blockchain application areas along with important application sub-categories and five clusters of contingency factors that influence blockchain deployment and its uses in different industrial sectors. Research limitations/implications The study expands the limited cross-sectoral research on blockchain applications and motivations in the supply chain. Using contingency theory, it presents a comprehensive framework that captures the drivers and factors relating to blockchain adoption in the supply chain in a nomological network. The study lays the foundation for further theoretical perspectives and empirical research to investigate relevant sectoral characteristics and their importance for different types of blockchain application in the supply chain. Practical implications The study informs practitioners about potential supply chain application areas that can be enhanced through blockchain technology, taking account of the specific characteristics of their products, business and manufacturing processes, supply network configurations, industry standards, regulations and market demand. Originality/value The study is the first to provide cross-sectoral evidence on the relevance of organizations' motivations and numerous contingency factors on blockchain application areas in the supply chain.

【Abstract】Research on human attention indicates that objects that stand out from their surroundings, i.e., salient objects, attract the attention of our sensory channels and receive undue weighting in the decision-making process. In the financial realm, salience theory predicts that individuals will find assets with salient upsides (downsides) appealing (unappealing). We investigate whether this theory can explain investor behaviour in the crypto-currency market. Consistent with the theory's predictions, using a sample of 1738 cryptocurrencies, we find that cryptocurrencies that are more (less) attractive to "salient thinkers" earn lower (higher) future returns, which indicates that they tend to be overpriced (underpriced). On average, a one cross-sectional standard-deviation increase in the salience theory value of a cryptocurrency reduces its next-week return by 0.41%. However, the salience effect is confined to the micro-cap segment of the market, and its size is moderated by limits to arbitrage.

【Abstract】Purpose The purpose of this study is to define metaverse tourism and to provide a viewpoint and further research regarding metaverse tourism with respect to its potential for sustainable tourism. Design/methodology/approach This study investigated the potential of the metaverse for sustainable tourism based on United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) reports, Google Trends data and previous studies including human-computer interactions, virtual reality and cognitive studies. Findings This research found that metaverse products and experiences could aid in expanding the range of tourism resources and support sustainable tourism by providing alternative and profitable resources. Producing licensed and profitable metaverse tourism products and experiences could increase profitability for tourism destinations and should be developed in accordance with the UNWTO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Research limitations/implications Using metaverse tourism products and experiences is a new approach to attain the SDGs. Analysis of accumulated data from further empirical studies and case studies is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach. Originality/value To the best of the authors' knowledge, this paper is an original attempt to define metaverse tourism in the tourism and hospitality context and to consider its potential, linked to UNWTO's SDGs. Insights from this paper could be useful for initiating further research and discussions on future metaverse tourism and sustainable tourism.

【Abstract】Due to the limitations of data quality and quantity of a single industrial user, the development of intelligent machinery fault diagnosis methods has been reaching a bottleneck in the perspectives of both academic research and engineering applications in the recent years. Collaborative fault diagnosis model development has been receiving increasing attention, where the distributed data at different users are explored simultaneously. However, data security and privacy are the major industrial concerns, which have not been well addressed in the literature. In this paper, a blockchain-based decentralized federated transfer learning method is proposed for collaborative machinery fault diagnosis. A tailored committee consensus scheme is designed for optimization of the model aggregation process, and a source data-free transfer learning method is further proposed. After global model initialization, the fault diagnosis model can be built through iterations of committee member selection, performance evaluation, transfer learning, model aggregation and blockchain updates. The experiments on two decentralized fault diagnosis datasets are implemented for validations, and higher than 90% testing accuracies can be generally achieved. The experimental results indicate the proposed method is effective in data privacy-preserving collaborative fault diagnosis of multiple users. It offers a promising tool for applications in the real industrial scenarios.

【Abstract】The rise of blockchain technology has disrupted the traditional traceability method of organic agricultural products supply chain (OASC) by emerging authentication or certification. For an offline business scenario, a blockchain certification traceability model (BTM) is popular, in which consumers check the product information before purchasing by convenience scanning bar-code. Similarly, for an online business scenario, a blockchain-based e-commerce model (BEM) is popular, in which consumers verify and book the product while surfing the web. However, few studies have an insight into the potential OASCs business model and employ quantitative methods to confirm the benefits of the adoption of blockchain. According to a current real-world online and offline business, we first conceptualize two models in this paper. We employ the Stackelberg game to compare the supply chain profit and consumer surplus. Furthermore, we extend the analysis by using the case of Red Beauty orange, which proves that the blockchain e-commerce model is a good supply chain model under the condition of high shopping convenience and low operating cost of the blockchain platform. Our findings are probably generalizable to apply to other industrial products that require such services.

【Abstract】Industry 4.0 focuses on the realization of smart manufacturing based on cyber-physical systems (CPS). However, emerging Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0 reaches beyond CPS and covers the entire value chain of manufacturing, and faces economic, environmental, and social challenges. To meet such challenges, we regard Industry 5.0 as a socio-technical revolution based on the socio-cyber-physical system (SCPS), and propose a socio-technically enhanced wisdom manufacturing architecture and framework beyond CPS-based Industry 4.0/smart manufacturing with especially concerning transition enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence, social Internet of Things (SIoT), big data, machine learning, edge computing, social computing, 3D printing, blockchains, digital twins, and cobots. Finally we address the roadmap to blockchainized value-added SCPS-based Industrial Metaverse for Industry/Society 5.0, which will achieve high utilization of resources and provide products and services to satisfy experience-driven individual needs via metamanufacturing cloud services towards smart, resilient, sustainable, and human-centric solutions.

【Abstract】We present two digital-based educative games aiming to engage students and the general public with battery sciences. The first one is a multiscale simulator in Mixed Reality of a battery-powered Electric Vehicle (EV) interacting with an Electrical Grid. One of the players drives the EV in a Virtual Reality (VR) environment where the EV can be recharged, and the other players control the electricity produced, distributed, consumed and stored by interacting with 3D-printed devices. The second educative game is a digital twin of a lithium ion battery manufacturing pilot line, which can be played from an Internet Browser or by using VR hardware. The key steps of the manufacturing process of cylindrical cells are represented in an interactive way. In this concept, we reviewed the working principles of our games, their implications for motivation, engagement and learning, and why they pave the way towards new ways of collaborative R&D in the battery field.

【Abstract】The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has dramatically increased the number of distributed IoT devices and users. Trust and Reputation Model (TRM) is a well-known technique for improving the security of IoT, which detects malicious attacks by evaluating user behavior. Since traditional distributed TRMs lack secure and reliable data sharing mechanisms, some works have integrated the TRMs into the trusted blockchains. Nevertheless, they have not realized the security requirements of the comprehensive assessment of user behavior and dynamic evaluation of reputation. Therefore, this paper introduces a Blockchain-based Trust and Reputation Model (BTRM), which evaluates user reputation from many aspects and can resist multiple malicious attacks in the distributed network. Second, we propose a novel Dynamic Evaluation Mechanism (DEM), which reduces the number of reputation evaluations without degrading network security and builds a trusting foundation between long-term inactive users and the network. Eventually, we deploy the proposed model DEM-BTRM in a prototype system of Hyperledger Fabric and compare it with existing reputation evaluation methods. The results show that the DEM-BTRM can comprehensively evaluate user behavior and dynamically detect malicious attacks.

【Abstract】Ride-sharing services emerging in recent years provide a convenient, green, and indispensable mode of trip. Nevertheless, the lack of confidentiality as well as traceability of the travel data, the reliance of most ride-sharing services on centralized storage structures, and the issue of trust between passengers and drivers are pressing problems to be addressed. To mitigate these problems, a perfect data protection, storage, and reputation management (DPSRM) scheme is proposed for ride-sharing services. First, a passenger utilizes the proposed ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) algorithm with partially hidden-policy, decryption test, and traceability, to encrypt her/his travel data. An authorized driver can successfully decrypt the ciphertext to acquire the passenger's travel data, then drive to the point of departure and wait for the passenger. Second, the data stored on the blockchain, such as the hash value of the ciphertext and the storage address of the ciphertext, can be used for digital forensics to achieve the distributed storage and traceability of data. Third, a reputation management based on the drivers' past behavior is proposed, which is a quantitative method to forecast the reliability of the drivers' future behavior and can be applied to settle the trust issue between passengers and drivers. Furthermore, the security analysis and performance comparisons manifest that the proposed DPSRM scheme is secure and efficient in ride-sharing services.

【Abstract】The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) with traditional healthcare systems has improved quality of healthcare services. However, the wearable devices and sensors used in Healthcare System (HS) continuously monitor and transmit data to the nearby devices or servers using an unsecured open channel. This connectivity between IoT devices and servers improves operational efficiency, but it also gives a lot of room for attackers to launch various cyber-attacks that can put patients under critical surveillance in jeopardy. In this article, a Blockchain-orchestrated Deep learning approach for Secure Data Transmission in IoT-enabled healthcare system hereafter referred to as "BDSDT" is designed. Specifically, first a novel scalable blockchain architecture is proposed to ensure data integrity and secure data transmission by leveraging Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) mechanism. Then, BDSDT integrates with the off-chain storage InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to address difficulties with data storage costs and with an Ethereum smart contract to address data security issues. The authenticated data is further used to design a deep learning architecture to detect intrusion in HS network. The latter combines Deep Sparse AutoEncoder (DSAE) with Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) to design an effective intrusion detection system. Experiments on two public data sources (CICIDS-2017 and ToN-IoT) reveal that the proposed BDSDT outperformed state-of-the-arts in both non-blockchain and blockchain settings and have obtained accuracy close to 99% using both datasets.(c) 2022 The Author(s). 【Abstract】Blockchain has become a modern technology that can enhance the traceability of products and services, which is particularly relevant to agri-food supply chains. This paper reviews studies on blockchain technology applications to the agri-food supply chain system and food industry, and discusses potential adaptation of blockchain technology for livestock-based products with a focus on the ASEAN Region and Thailand. A comprehensive method for reviewing the literature was adopted, and this paper encompasses stakeholders along the supply chain of livestock-based products to understand the prospect of applying blockchain technology to the sector. It was found that while blockchain technology is potentially sustainable and worthy of applications, there remain various limitations and complications toward adoption, such as the low awareness among stakeholders, the weak sector-wide coordination, and the lack of capacity in primary suppliers. Potential benefits and implications of blockchain technology for the food industry have yet to be widely understood, especially in the ASEAN. These findings would call for coordinated support from both the governments and the private sector, especially to raise awareness of the technology, reinforce sector-wide coordination, and develop skills required for adoption.

【Abstract】Attribute-based encryption (ABE) is an advanced public-key encryption supporting fine-grained access control and flexible sharing of encrypted data. However, in many real-world scenarios, users working with resource-limited devices have to outsource the decryption task due to its huge computational overhead while the decryption party is usually considered to be untrusted, thus leading to the fact that the verifiability of computation results is as important as the privacy. Fair payment, a solution to ensure the interests of both participants involved (i.e., user and worker), is introduced. Generally, fairness is guaranteed by the public verifiability so that the correctness of outsourced result can be easily judged by a trusted third party (TTP) when dispute occurs, which is called optimistic fairness. To remove the TTP and achieve robust fairness, most existing solutions try to handle the verifiability issue with zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) and blockchain. Nonetheless, there has not been a proper and efficient solution to obtain robust fairness in ABE outsourcing decryption (ABE-OD) scenarios. To address this issue, in this paper we propose a blockchain-based fair payment for ABE-OD scheme. In particular, we construct a CP-ABE-OD scheme with both public and private verifiability based on existing generic schemes and employ smart contract to guarantee the payment fairness, integrated by IPFS to solve the task data storage. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that our scheme is secure and efficient.

【Abstract】Georg Simmel depicts money as an evolving entity that will continue to evolve to a state of 'perfect money' disconnected from any external guarantor of value. This article examines some of the different approaches to substantial value underpinning money, suggesting that they represent different types of fictional underwriting. Money is then contrasted with cryptocurrency, suggesting that their respective value is not only derived from different fictions but from different standards of value as major and minor currency. This analysis suggests that far from evolving into a fully abstract and functional instrument for creating stable social relationships, the divergence in currencies and currency fictions is a force for overturning such 'expedient' stability.

【Abstract】Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been instrumental in enabling many new applications and services, including military and rescue operations, aerial surveillance, civilian applications, precision farming, as well as providing extensive wireless network access in remote areas. They have also been used in other areas such as transmission line and oil rig monitoring, disaster recovery, etc. With their increasing payload ability and flight duration, using UAVs is a preferred choice for a multitude of upcoming wireless communication systems. However, because of their open operational nature, UAVs are highly vulnerable to severe security breaches via cyber attacks, eavesdropping on navigational and communication links, etc. Given their widespread applications, the requirement of secured UAV communications has become more and more critical since security failures can lead to detrimental consequences. Several works have examined the extent of privacy and security issues in UAV-assisted networks and introduced various mitigation techniques to address different security challenges. In this paper, a comprehensive survey is conducted that centers on the security issues related to UAV-aided networks. A descriptive taxonomy of various security intrusions on the UAV networks and commonly-used secrecy performance metrics are thoroughly reviewed. An in-depth discussion is provided on alleviating threats with proactive security techniques blended with key wireless communication technologies such as mmWave, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), and cognitive radio. Moreover, several emerging topics like machine learning, software-defined networks, fog and edge computing, blockchain, are discussed in the context of UAV-aided secure communications.

【Abstract】It aims to improve the application efficiency of modern science and technology in farm operation, enhance the prediction effect of machine learning and blockchain technology on farm supply and demand issues, and help enterprise managers to better manage and operate enterprise projects. First, the agricultural super business model under the blockchain + Internet of Things (IoT) is analysed, and the farm management system of the IoT + blockchain is constructed. Then, the demand forecasting model of agricultural products is established. Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model (ARIMA) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) models are used to predict demand. Finally, the characteristics of the two models in prediction are discussed. The results show that the ARIMA model can reach 99.2% in the application efficiency evaluation of farm operation. Moreover, in the case of proper selection of model indicators, the prediction result is close to the actual value, the prediction error fluctuation is small, and the maximum error value is 0.4318. The local error of SVM model in predicting the demand of farm supply chain is slightly larger, and the maximum error value is 8.5430. By comparing the error results of the two models, the prediction accuracy of ARIMA model is higher than that of SVM model. The ARIMA model designed in this work can provide effective product demand prediction for farm operation and provide a strong technical reference for farm operation. The research not only provides technical support for machine learning and blockchain technology to predict farm supply and demand, but also contributes to the integrated management and sustainable development of enterprises.

【Abstract】During the summer of 2021, the concept of the metaverse emerged as a macro goal for Big Tech and entertainment industry leaders. The concept is a familiar one: the creation of an embodied internet facilitated by wearable virtual reality technologies (e.g. smart glasses). References to the metaverse often identify Neal Stephenson's 1992 novel, Snow Crash, as the place where the term was first coined, although the concept itself can be traced back to Stanley G. Weinbaum's 1935 science fiction short story, 'Pygmalion's Glasses'. Other media critics, like Wired's Kevin Kelly have also used the term mirrorworld to describe immersive virtual and mixed reality worlds in the same vein as the metaverse. The aim of this article is to offer a speculative and pragmatic reimagining of rhetorical pedagogy for the metaverse. For instance, in place of reading Plato, how might students come to understand Plato's philosophy by walking and talking with the Socrates trope or engaging in a dialog with an AI Plato? How might students feel the affective significance and impact of Martin Luther King, Jr's 'I Have Dream' speech by attending a virtual simulation of the event or sitting alongside MLK in a jail cell as the author pens 'Letter from Birmingham Jail'? The metaverse holds potential for creating these sorts of embodied learning experiences to enhance traditional pedagogical and post-pedagogical methods, as well as to foster a new level of engagement with arts and humanities curricula at a time when administrative leadership and governing bodies in higher education are exploring new options for delivering high-quality, engaging learning experiences.

【Abstract】In this viewpoint article, we provide an analysis of the value proposition of decentralized finance (DeFi) and its limitations using a simple stylized model of collateralized lending. DeFi uses a decentralized ledger to run smart contracts that automatically enforce the terms of a lending contract and safeguard the collateral. DeFi can lower the costs associated with intermediated lending and improve financial inclusion. Limitations are the volatility of crypto collateral and stablecoins used for settlement, the possible incompleteness of smart contracts and the lack of a reliable oracle. A proper infrastructure reducing such limitations could improve the value of DeFi.

【Abstract】This article employs the DCC-GARCH-based approach proposed by Gabauer (2020) to measure the connectedness of the cryptocurrency market, and whether the connectedness indexes became significantly different after China issued the regulatory ban in May 2021. The empirical finding suggests that the cryptocurrency market became significantly more interconnected after the ban was issued. Furthermore, we find that the net connectedness indexes of the majority of cryptocurrencies in the sample changed significantly after the ban. Among all the studied cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is the largest net volatility receiver and Solana is the largest net volatility transmitter.

【摘要】针对传统内部审计存在的滞后性、偏差性和独立性差等问题,本文提出了基于区块链的业务驱动型内部审计系统,通过在系统中引入业务、区块链及内审三个平行平面,实现数据流由业务平面驱动,经区块链平面到达内审平面,并循环反馈至区块链平面和业务平面,重塑内部审计流程,实现“审计驱动”向“业务驱动”的转变,满足实时审计、审计全覆盖的要求,提高审计独立性和审计效率。

【摘要】数字藏品在国内市场持续升温,赋能博物馆实现了文化遗产的“数字孪生”与“数字永生”,为博物馆文创产业链的生存和发展注入了新的活力。然而,博物馆数字藏品价值不稳定、内容导向缺失、技术不成熟、产业联动力弱的问题使其面临诸多风险与挑战。对此,政府须出台适应市场发展需要的法律法规监管机制严控走向,博物馆及相关创意部门应制定文化精神和价值引导的内容创作机制,平台应推出行之有效的版权交易和精细化管理机制。只有多方协同,丰富模式业态,才能真正让博物馆数字藏品“实化于行、内化于心、固化于制、外化于形”。
