【Abstract】As the world transitions towards sustainable energy solutions, the hydrogen economy is poised to play a crucial role due to its capacity to mitigate carbon emissions and solve energy storage challenges. This review assesses the potential of blockchain technology to enhance the hydrogen economy, a vital component in advancing global sustainable energy initiatives. Findings from comprehensive literature reviews and specific case studies, including "HydroChain" and "H2-Share," are synthesized to evaluate blockchain's ability to improve transparency, efficiency, and compliance within hydrogen production, storage, and distribution systems. The results indicate that blockchain technology could significantly enhance hydrogen traceability and certification, facilitate robust peer-to-peer energy trading platforms, and strengthen market dynamics through improved logistical operations. However, notable challenges such as scalability, interoperability among diverse blockchain systems, and the need for adaptive regulatory frameworks are identified as major barriers to its full adoption. Addressing these challenges will require a multidisciplinary approach and proactive collaboration among stakeholders to develop scalable blockchain solutions that can effectively integrate with existing technologies. The successful implementation of blockchain in the hydrogen sector could greatly contribute to achieving net-zero emissions and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, providing a replicable model for other sectors in the energy industry.

【Abstract】Countries all over the world are shifting from conventional and fossil fuel-based energy systems to more sustainable energy systems (renewable energy-based systems). To effectively integrate renewable sources of energy, multi-directional power flow and control are required, and to facilitate this multi-directional power flow, peer-to-peer (P2P) trading is employed. For a safe, secure, and reliable P2P trading system, a secure communication gateway and a cryptographically secure data storage mechanism are required. This paper explores the uses of blockchain (BC) in renewable energy (RE) integration into the grid. We shed light on four primary areas: P2P energy trading, the green hydrogen supply chain, demand response (DR) programmes, and the tracking of RE certificates (RECs). In addition, we investigate how BC can address the existing challenges in these domains and overcome these hurdles to realise a decentralised energy ecosystem. The main purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding of how BC technology can act as a catalyst for a multi-directional energy flow, ultimately revolutionising the way energy is generated, managed, and consumed.

【Abstract】Web3 is leading a wave of the next generation of web services that even many Web2 applications are keen to ride. However, the lack of Web3 background for Web2 developers hinders easy and effective access and transition. On the other hand, Web3 applications desire encouragement and advertisement from conventional Web2 companies and projects due to their low market shares. In this article, we propose a seamless transition framework that transits Web2 to Web3, named WEBTTCOM [WEBTTCOM stands for Web2 (two)-Web3 (three) Communicator], after exploring the connotation of Web3 and the key differences between Web2 and Web3 applications. We also provide a full-stack implementation as a use case to support the proposed framework, followed by performance evaluation and surveys with similar to 1000 participants that show similar to 80% positive and similar to 20% neutral responses. We confirm that the proposed framework WEBTTCOM addresses the defined research question, and the implementation well satisfies the framework WEBTTCOM in terms of strong necessity, usability, and completeness based on the survey results.

【Abstract】Digital twin (DT) technology facilitates the integration of physical and virtual worlds, enabling optical networks to realize efficient, intelligent, and accurate monitoring, prediction, and maintenance. However, the combination of DT and optical networks creates new security challenges on network management. Accurate and complete modeling, decision-making, and feedback of DT optical networks (DTONs) are unattainable without ensuring the reliability and integrity of data sources, collected data, models, and feedback instructions. To address these problems, a blockchain-based DTON architecture is designed, along with a blockchain-based solution to ensure the security and credibility of data sources, and the integrity and immutability of collected data, models, and instructions. The chaincode was developed to implement the functions of blockchain-based DTON, including device registration, mirror and functional model registration, data storage, and decision-making delivery. Furthermore, the proposed solution is deployed using Hyperledger Fabric, and validated with multiple examples, such as routing computation, quality of transmission (QoT) estimation and link optimization, and failure prediction. Hyperledger Caliper was used for determining the effects of send rate, database, number of organizations on the performance, and resource consumption. The experimental results have demonstrated improvements in network performance, model accuracy, and service quality with the implementation of blockchain-based DTON.

【Abstract】In the development of web applications, the rapid advancement of Internet technologies has brought unprecedented opportunities and increased the demand for user authentication schemes. Before the emergence of blockchain technology, establishing trust between two unfamiliar entities relied on a trusted third party for identity verification. However, the failure or malicious behavior of such a trusted third party could undermine such authentication schemes (e.g., single points of failure, credential leaks). A secure authorization system is another requirement of user authentication schemes, as users must authorize other entities to act on their behalf in some situations. If the transfer of authentication permissions is not adequately restricted, security risks such as unauthorized transfer of permissions to entities may occur. Some research has proposed blockchain-based decentralized user authentication solutions to address these risks and enhance availability and auditability. However, as we know, most proposed schemes that allow users to transfer authentication permissions to other entities require significant gas consumption when deployed and triggered in smart contracts. To address this issue, we proposed an authentication scheme with transferability solely based on hash functions. By combining one-time passwords with Hashcash, the scheme can limit the number of times permissions can be transferred while ensuring security. Furthermore, due to its reliance solely on hash functions, our proposed authentication scheme has an absolute advantage regarding computational complexity and gas consumption in smart contracts. Additionally, we have deployed smart contracts on the Goerli test network and demonstrated the practicality and efficiency of this authentication scheme.

【Abstract】The recent global outbreaks of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, yellow fever, and Ebola have highlighted the critical need for robust health data management systems that can rapidly adapt to and mitigate public health emergencies. In contrast to traditional systems, this study introduces an innovative blockchain-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) access control mechanism that effectively safeguards patient data integrity and privacy. The proposed approach uniquely integrates granular data access control mechanism within a blockchain framework, ensuring that patient data is only accessible to explicitly authorized users and thereby enhancing patient consent and privacy. This system addresses key challenges in healthcare data management, including preventing unauthorized access and overcoming the inefficiencies inherent in traditional access mechanisms. Since the latency is a sensitive factor in healthcare data management, the simulations of the proposed model reveal substantial improvements over existing benchmarks in terms of reduced computing overhead, increased throughput, minimized latency, and strengthened overall security. By demonstrating these advantages, the study contributes significantly to the evolution of health data management, offering a scalable, secure solution that prioritizes patient autonomy and privacy in an increasingly digital healthcare landscape.

【Abstract】Threshold signatures are important tools for addressing issues related to key management, certificate management, and cryptocurrencies. Among them, two-party SM2 signatures have received considerable interest recently. In this paper, we propose a fast and secure online/offline two-party SM2. By employing the re- sharing technique, we have successfully made the online phase of the signing process non-interactive while achieving nearly optimal computational efficiency. Additionally, in the offline phase, there is just a single call to the multiplicative-to-additive functionality based on Paillier encryption. Our protocol is existentially unforgeable under adaptive chosen message attacks in the random oracle model in the presence of a static adversary. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed scheme outperforms previous similar schemes by approximately a factor of 2 in online computation and a factor of 3 in online communication. Our scheme can be applied in scenarios such as Certificate Authority (CA) and the signing of blockchain transactions to provide them with a more secure and flexible implementation method, enhancing the security and reliability of the systems.

【Abstract】This study explores how blockchain technology can enhance the resilience of the prefabricated building supply chain in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environments. The measurement model of the subject, stage, and overall resilience of the supply chain is constructed. The four indices of blockchain are introduced, and the model from the resilience of the supply chain subject to the overall resilience is established. The interaction behavior between subjects is analyzed. The weight is determined by the AHP method, and the multi-agent model simulation is carried out using NetLogo(6.5) software. After the introduction of blockchain technology, even in the early stage of application, supply chain resilience has been significantly enhanced; especially in the decision-making stage, information transparency and efficiency have been significantly improved. When the technology is maturely applied, the toughness of each stage shows an accelerated growth trend, and the improvement in toughness in the assembly stage is particularly significant. By optimizing key influencing factors, the growth rate of resilience in the assembly stage is further improved, which verifies the positive impact of blockchain technology and main factor optimization on overall resilience. In summary, the introduction of blockchain technology and its mature application are crucial for improving the resilience of the prefabricated building supply chain, providing an effective way to meet the challenges of VUCA.

【Abstract】The advancements in quantum computing and the potential for polynomial-time solutions to traditional public key cryptography (i.e., Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) and elliptic-curve cryptography (ECC)) using Shor's algorithm pose a serious threat to the security of pre-quantum blockchain technologies. This paper proposes an efficient quantum-safe blockchain that incorporates new quantum-safe consensus algorithms. We integrate post-quantum signature schemes into the blockchain's transaction signing and verification processes to enhance resistance against quantum attacks. Specifically, we employ the Falcon signature scheme, which was selected during the NIST post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standardization process. Although the integration of the post-quantum signature scheme results in a reduction in the blockchain's transactions per second (TPSs), we introduce efficient approaches to mitigate this performance degradation. Our proposed post-quantum delegated proof of luck (PQ-DPoL) combines a proof of luck (PoL) mechanism with a delegated approach, ensuring quantum resistance, energy efficiency, and fairness in block generation. Experimental results demonstrate that while post-quantum cryptographic algorithms like Falcon introduce larger signature sizes and slower processing times, the PQ-DPoL algorithm effectively balances security and performance, providing a viable solution for secure blockchain operations in a post-quantum era.

【Abstract】Pairs trading is a short-term speculation trading strategy based on matching a long position with a short position in two assets in the hope that their prices will return to their historical equilibrium. In this paper, we focus on identifying opportunities where mean reversion will happen quickly, as the commission costs associated with keeping the positions open for an extended period of time can eliminate excess returns. To this end, we propose the use of the local Hurst exponent as a signal to open trades in the cryptocurrencies market. We conduct a natural experiment to show that the spread of pairs with anti-persistent values of Hurst revert to their mean significantly faster. Next, we verify that this effect is universal across pairs with different levels of co-movement. Finally, we back-test several pairs trading strategies that include H < 0.5 as an indicator and check that all of them result in profits. Hence, we conclude that the Hurst exponent represents a meaningful indicator to detect pairs trading opportunities in the cryptocurrencies market.

【Abstract】With the rapid development of the civil aviation industry, the demand for secure sharing of civil aviation data is increasing. As a global platform for secure sharing of civil aviation data, the security of the System Wide Information Management (SWIM) system is of great concern. SWIM adopts a service-oriented architecture and realizes the interaction of civil aviation data through a publish-subscribe model. To protect the service privacy while enabling subscribers to subscribe to the service quickly and securely, this paper proposes an efficient Circular Shift and Coalesce-Cuckoo Filter (CSC-CF)-based service Keyword Search (CCKS) scheme assisted by blockchain. This scheme uses the Symmetric-key Hidden Vector Encryption (SHVE) algorithm to encrypt and match service indexes and trapdoors to protect service privacy; the CSC-CF structure is applied to keyword search, which can effectively improve the efficiency of SWIM user subscription service. To improve search accuracy and space utilization, we propose the improved CCKS (ICCKS) scheme by optimizing the query algorithm of CSC-CF and setting a threshold for the number of keyword query failures. ICCKS improves search accuracy by 5-20% compared to CCKS when the filter's space utilization is between 60 and 90%. Additionally, the scheme stores service topic indexes and registry on the blockchain and implements a smart contract to match indexes and subscription trapdoors, ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of service topics and registry. Security analysis and experimental simulations demonstrate that the scheme is effective and secure in the SWIM system.

【Abstract】This study investigates the symmetric and asymmetric connectedness of recently developed disruptive assets - cryptocurrency and important conventional assets - Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) across various time scales and frequencies. We measure the strength and magnitude of returns and volatility spillover between REITs and cryptocurrency using both time series and machine learning approaches. Our findings support the dominance of conventional assets in the correlation with disruptive assets, demonstrated by REITs price movements' destabilization of the correlation network. Interestingly, this destabilization is concentrated in bear markets, suggesting that while investors trade both cryptocurrencies and REITs in bull markets, investors are likely to hedge their cryptocurrency investments with REITs or avoid cryptocurrencies in bear markets. Our empirical findings provide implications for both asset allocation and policy making.

【Abstract】In contemporary society, management of physical documents such as educational certificates, identity proofs, vehicle registrations, and marriage certificates is an integral part of daily life. However, in present online world, there is a pressing need for digital transformation and the management of these documents. One significant challenge associated with this transformation is the susceptibility of original documents to replication or duplication. This vulnerability is particularly concerning in the case of educational certificates, where fraud is prevalent. Fraudulent activities in the education sector can influence the proliferation of counterfeit educational and skill certificates, posing serious risks to society. For instance, individuals holding fraudulent degrees in professions such as engineering, medicine, law, and pharmacy may lack genuine competence, thereby posing substantial societal harm. To address the issue of certificate oversight and deter forgery, various approaches have been employed. Traditional methods typically involve the use of centralized databases or web servers for certificate storage, which introduces vulnerabilities because they represent single points of failure that leads to forgery and information loss. An optimal solution lies in the adoption of a Blockchain system that leverages a decentralized database structure to enhance data storage capacity and security. Blockchain technology has demonstrated disruptive potential and innovative capabilities across multiple sectors because of its decentralized, transparent, and secure attributes. Its impact spans various domains, including banking, supply chain management, healthcare, education, and finance. Notably, in the education sector, Blockchain technology holds promise in enhancing security, transparency, and efficiency across different educational processes. In this study, we explore existing Blockchain oriented certificate management systems, critically analyze their limitations, and propose a novel hybrid educational certificate management model. The proposed model integrates Hyperledger Fabric, IoT, and 2D Barcode to develop a robust and secure framework for managing educational certificates.
