【Abstract】IoT data exchange plays a vital role in supporting various applications and services with massive IoT devices. However, the existence of malicious devices threatens the integrity and reliability of the exchanged data. Trust management has been used to mitigate the impact of malicious devices in centralized and decentralized architectures. However, most of these traditional trust management systems bear computation, storage, and communication challenges. In this study, we propose a semi-centralized trust management system architecture based on blockchain in both single and multiple domains. The IoT devices are centralized organized by cloud servers who coordinately sustain a rating data ledger within each domain based the proposed rotation based consensus protocol in a decentralized manner to support cross-domain data exchange. A computational trust model is proposed by aggregating the direct and indirect trust information, where we elaborately design decay function, recommendation credibility and adaptable weights so as to calculate the trust value of dynamic malicious devices. Finally, we evaluate the proposed system model in various situations through simulation based experiments and compare it with two classical models in the literature. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed trust model in identifying malicious devices and mitigating the influence of malicious devices.

【Abstract】Today, mobile devices provide their users with a range of multiple services and powerful applications. Despite being beneficial, these applications are massively relying on gathering sensitive information from the mobile devices, which creates numerous challenges regarding security and latency problems. For instance, these applications' stakeholders take their time to select mobile device for gathering necessary resources. Therefore, this process of recruiting mobile devices will not be practical with sensing information which has an expiration date, which the time of collecting and recruiting these types of sensing information are surpassing its expiration date. As device-to-device (D2D) paradigms have been established as relevant communication for sharing sensing information in a low latency and minimum cost, it still suffers from mobility problems. Hence, mobile edge caching (MEC) system has been developed to increase efficiency of information sharing with mobility of high-flexibility. Nonetheless this paradigm has some challenges with regards to constructing a satisfactory resource sharing system concerning security and trust ability. The aim of this paper is to propose a novel security and privacy blockchain sharing (SPB-DS) system based on MEC system. A searchable keyword will be recorded on the system's blockchain for every sensing information and all requester devices that require to download specific sensing information, it will generate a trapdoor first for looking for the matching keyword in the blockchain system. To incentive provider devices an optimal payment mechanism has been developed for those who wish to partake in the system. An analysis of security demonstrates that the suggested protocol can satisfy many security goals, while an evaluation on performance illustrates high feasibility and scalability of the MEC system's proposed scheme.

【Abstract】Blockchain, which originated with the Bitcoin system, has drawn intense attention because of its decentralization, persistence, and anonymity. The execution environment of blockchain is isolated from the external world and requires "blockchain oracles": agents that fetch information from the outside world. However, there is always the risk of oracles providing corrupt, malicious, or inaccurate data. To overcome this issue, this paper analyses the existing oracle working patterns, then introduces a decentralized autonomous oracle network (DAON) and its consensus protocol and noninteractive reputation maintenance and payment scheme. Meanwhile, the reputation and security monitoring services of DAON are designed to ensure the DAON provide trustworthy data services in a complex byzantine environment. The proposed method is verified by experiments on three applications. Using the proposed network, smart contracts on future blockchains could have reliable, tamper-proof inputs and outputs.

【Abstract】The Ponzi scheme implemented through smart contracts is one of the most common scams on the blockchain platform. Although various learning-based Ponzi smart contract detection approaches have been proposed, they still suffer from several limitations, i.e., 1) extracting insufficient semantics and gathering Ponzi irrelevant components from the smart contract during feature engineering, and 2) underutilizing structured semantic features during model training. As the Ponzi scheme is an economic crime with the typical Rob-Peter-to-Pay-Paul transaction pattern, we propose a transaction semantic learning based approach to mitigate the above limitations. The fundamental idea of our approach is to represent the transaction-related semantics of a smart contract as a graph and utilize a graph convolutional network (GCN) to learn the potential Ponzi-like transaction pattern from it. We define a novel code representation named slice transaction property graph (sTPG) to represent the transaction-related semantics, which can encode multiple transaction-related semantics inside a smart contract function into a graph and eliminate other irrelevant fragments. Then, we propose a relation-sensitive GCN as the learning model to identify potential Ponzi-scheme-like transaction patterns from sTPG by considering both nodes and edges features in sTPG. We evaluate our approach on two datasets: 1) smart contracts collected from Forum and Public datasets, and 2) really deployed smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. The experiment results show that our approach outperforms the state-of-the-art learning-based approaches.

【Abstract】Blockchain technology may provide a potential solution to the Internet of Things (IoT) security challenges by providing a decentralized and secure method for storing, managing, and sharing data. The Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA-256) hashed value of preliminary data (block) is retained in one block along with transaction data in tree form and timestamp in a chain of blocks. However, there are observations about blockchain limitations such as higher energy consumption, secure data, self-maintenance reliance, and higher cost. These constraints can be overcome by incorporating encryption algorithms into accepting blocks of data. In this paper, we propose a secure intelligent computational model for a large-scale interconnected IoT environment; an analytical modeling technique is considered for the proposed system. The proposed system takes advantage of the potential security feature of blockchain, which is considered the most appropriate secure communication system in an IoT. A computational model is built using the proposed blockchain technology to incorporate a secure and intelligent communication system. The proposed system uses the enhanced McEliece encryption approach's potential to link the blockchain due to the faster mode of encryption and decryption process with a highly reduced number of steps.

【Abstract】Purpose - The aim of this study is to examine the influence of consumer preferences for overseas green products and the implementation of blockchain technology on the performance of a supply chain, which comprises an overseas manufacturer and a domestic e-commerce platform. This research endeavors to identify the optimal pricing decisions and strategies for both the manufacturer and the platform in the context of the expanding e-commerce and globalization of the economy.Design/methodology/approach - The authors propose and analyze four distinct models based on the selection of selling contracts by the manufacturer and the adoption strategy of blockchain by the platform, using game theory to obtain the optimal solutions for these models.Findings - The authors show that consumer migration promotes the manufacturer's green inputs, while the expansion of green consumer proportion is not conducive to it. They also show that blockchain technology has the potential to effectively limit manufacturer cannibalization. Interestingly, the study reveals a cascading effect of advantage where the manufacturer's profit variation trend changes only with the integration of pricing power advantage and blockchain technology inputs. This effect suggests that the equilibrium strategy is achievable under the agency contract with blockchain adoption, while Pareto improvement can be obtained with blockchain technology under both selling contracts.Research limitations/implications - This research could be extended in several possible directions. First, future work could explore outsourcing strategies for overseas manufacturers. Second, more types of consumer heterogeneity and different risk preferences could be considered. Third, this study can be extended by further exploring the design of mechanisms under asymmetric demand information to make the model more realistic.Originality/value - The authors examine the impact of market segmentation and consumer preferences on green supply chain decisions, and analyze supply chain members' strategic choices for selling contracts and blockchain adoptions. The research also sheds light on the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of green supply chain development and blockchain applications.

【Abstract】Washtrading is a serious issue prevailing in nonfungible token (NFT) markets. Most current attempts to identify washtrading incidents use graph methods on transaction graphs to identify cyclical patterns. However, the intensive computational requirements hinder the practical applicability of the methods, and the single-level identification limits our view of the overall scope of the issue. In this article, we discuss the unique challenges of identifying washtrading scenarios in NFT markets and propose a solution that finds closed cycles in transaction graphs to identify potential washtrading cases at four different levels. Our identification method provides a measure of washtrading prevalence in the Nifty Gateway (NG) NFT market with approaches for evaluation that relay a measure of reliability that can be applied in other NFT markets. Acknowledging the newness of washtrading issues in NFT markets, we hope that the current study opens doors for new attempts to further investigate the problem and provide efficient and effective solutions to combat the issue.

【Abstract】Healthcare credentialing plays a vital role in ensuring the competence and integrity of healthcare professionals. However, the current credentials verification process suffers from time-consuming procedures due to the large number of intermediaries, limited information access, data fragmentation and the persistent risk of fraudulent credentials, leading to delayed hiring, increased administrative burden, and loss of trust and reputation in the healthcare system. In this paper, we utilize blockchain technology to enhance the credentialing process by streamlining the verification steps, improving data security, and providing stakeholders with confidence through secure storage of credentials. In addition, we utilize advanced security techniques, such as proxy re-encryption and cryptographic algorithms, to ensure the protection of sensitive data, facilitate secure communication, and prevent unauthorized access. We develop smart contracts which eliminate the need for intermediaries, automate the verification process, and enhance transparency and data integrity. We present system architecture, sequence diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, and the underlying algorithms of our blockchain-based solution. We discuss how our proposed solution attains the objectives outlined in the paper. We conduct cost evaluation and security analysis to validate the effectiveness of our solution. Additionally, we compare our proposed system with existing blockchain-based solutions, highlighting its novelty. The code of our smart contracts is made publicly available on GitHub.

【Abstract】Performance-Aware Blockchains (PABs) are the highly optimized version of regular blockchains, capable of mining blocks with low delay and low energy. To incorporate performance awareness, researchers have proposed various lightweight consensus models that depend on single-chained blockchains, which limits their scalability performance after several blocks. To overcome this limitation, sharded blockchains were introduced, but very few of these sharded chains use lightweight consensus models. Hence, in this work, we propose a novel incremental learning model with light-weighted consensus for shard management in performance-aware blockchains. By using incremental learning, the model could continuously learn from the changing characteristics of the blockchain and make informed decisions about shard size adjustments to optimize performance. Further, to optimize shard size and ensure mining operates with lower delay and lower energy consumption, we use a hybrid combination of Genetic Algorithm and the Learner-based Elephant Herd Optimizer (GA-TLEHO) method. The reason for this hybrid combination of optimization methods is to enhance convergence by leveraging both exploration and exploitation. It is evident from the simulation analysis that the proposed method potentially mitigates Masquerading, Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS), and Finney attacks with higher efficiency and lower delay when compared with other state-of-the-art blockchain methods.

【Abstract】Numerous authors have presented the blockchain in their literature as a disruptive combustion engine with the potential to transform organizations and technology in the current digital economy, with features like validation of transactions, safeguarding of entries, preservation of records, immutability, decentralization, consensus, and faster settlement. However, literature on scientific production and collaboration through bibliometric and network analysis is still lacking. Based on the data extracted from the Web of Science from 2014-2020 with 6790 records, the emerging trends and collaboration patterns of blockchain technology are studied with the use of bibliometrics and network analysis. The study asserts (i) the impact of open-access publication on the growth and visibility of literature, (ii) the collaboration patterns and it's impact on team size, (iii) the ranking of countries based on their national and international collaboration, and (iv) thematic analysis of literature. The results show growth in the literature since 2017, and open-access publications have received more citations. Very few authors are actively working in the field, as only 73.7% of authors have published a single paper on the blockchain. China published the highest number of papers, followed by the United States of America and the United Kingdom. Singapore published a large number of papers with international collaboration and Russia with national collaboration, whereas the USA showed a balance between national and international publications. Finally, thematic analysis figured out the five key themes as supply chain management, smart contract, security, distributed ledger technology, and internet of things in contrast to the blockchain. Hence, this study investigates scientific productions by means of open-access publications, collaboration patterns, ranking, and key areas in blockchain literature.

【Abstract】In recent years, food safety has become a growing concern in Taiwanese society. To ensure efficient management of the supply chain within the L Aquatic Products company, it is imperative to employ reliable technical support in establishing an effective traceability management system. The traceability of products can provide managers with valuable insight into the intricacies of the supply chain. By establishing a dependable food traceability system, brand trust can be strengthened , consumers can inquire about the movement of aquatic products within the supply chain. Blockchain technology offers features such as traceability, accountability, transparency, reliability, trust, privacy, , security, making it a viable solution for the aquatic industry. Although some researchers propose comprehensive so-lutions for application in aquatic companies, it is important to note that many aquatic firms are traditional companies with unique supply chain requirements. A one-size -fits-all solution may not be suitable and could lead to increased operational costs. In this research, we begin by conducting interviews with the company to gain insight into their actual production processes. Based on these findings, we design and implement a blockchain traceability process tailored specifically to the aquatic firm's supply chain. Additionally, we survey the opinions of the company's staff to ensure that the system aligns with their needs. The results indicate that the blockchain traceability system benefits the company's development.

【Abstract】Behaving responsibly is a priority for all businesses including, of course, the banking sector. The United Nations Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB), launched in 2019, pursue six internal and external objectives. The aim of this paper is to give an overview of the PRB and to investigate how an innovation such as the blockchain could contribute to achieving the UN objectives. Our research uses a qualitative method, based on the Knowledge Cafe as a data collection tool, enabling us to draw on the experience of ten experts in the banking and/or blockchain domains. Our data analysis identifies a series of nine key concepts that cut across the six PRB. The main findings of our study shed light on the importance of transparency, trust, and the involvement of all stakeholders in the implementation of blockchain solutions within banks. However, there are some barriers to implementation, such as the energy consumption of blockchain, misunderstanding and a need for education on this disruptive technology, and the quality of data. We conclude by presenting the theoretical and managerial implications of our study, including their impact on the funding of SMEs.

【Abstract】This paper investigates whether the price of cryptocurrency is determined by the US dollar index, the price of investment assets such gold and oil, and the implied volatility of the KOSPI. Overall, the returns on cryptocurrencies are best predicted by the trading volume of the cryptocurrency both in-sample and out-of-sample. The estimates of gold and the dollar index are negative in the return prediction, though they are not significant. The dollar index, gold, and the cryptocurrencies seem to share characteristics which hedging instruments have in common. When investors take notice of the imminent market risks, they increase the demand for one of these assets and thereby increase the returns on the asset. The most notable result in the out-of-sample predictability is the predictability of the returns on value-weighted portfolio by gold. The empirical results show that the restricted model fails to encompass the unrestricted model. Therefore, the unrestricted model is significant in improving out-of-sample predictability of the portfolio returns using gold. From the empirical analyses, we can conclude that in -sample predictability cannot guarantee out-of-sample predictability and vice versa. This may shed light on the disparate results between in-sample and out-of-sample predictability in a large body of previous literature.

【Abstract】The rapid rise in blockchain-based Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) offers policy-makers and decision-makers new opportunities to automatically execute decisions and processes that help enhance transparency, accountability, participation and trust. Yet, many DAOs have a limited lifespan. There is little empirical evidence of the effect of governance elements on the viability of DAOs. Using 220 on-chain governed DAOs, this paper analyses how governance elements (accountability, decision/voting, and incentives) influence the viability of DAOs in the long-term. The findings show that DAOs without weighted decision-making and without incentive structures are more viable than those with weighted decision power and incentive mechanisms. This suggests that financial and share-like DAO governance elements do not or may even negatively contribute to the long-term viability of DAOs. Also, voting power distribution is found to have a statistically significant influence on DAOs' viability. We further propose a preliminary theory that relates governance elements to the long-term viability of DAOs. These insights will help policy-makers in designing more viable DAOs. Future research should investigate how DAO objectives, the chosen deployment infrastructure and the type of users can impact the long-term viability of DAOs.
