【Abstract】Quality management (QM) of additive manufacturing (AM) processes is currently immature in terms of transparency, traceability and security. In particular, quality-relevant documents are not documented and communicated in a traceable and transparent manner, which often leads to quality deficiencies. However, combining AM with blockchain technology can enable a solution that maps the AM value chain digitally, transparently, traceably and securely in a part record. In this work, a quality assurance (QA) concept for the metal-based material extrusion (MEX) process is developed that enables a digital representation of the value chain in the form of an AM part record. The decentralized solution presented in this work uses an architecture consisting of a web application for data acquisition, a decentralized storage solution for storing larger amounts of data, a smart contract for capturing manufacturing events and the Ethereum blockchain for transparent, secure and traceable storage of blockchain data. The AM part record enables traceable and constantly available digital documentation of quality information. The cost-effectiveness of the solution is also shown in a demonstration study. The research results highlight the benefits of a blockchain-based AM part record for digital manufacturing documentation and represent an efficient alternative or extension to existing QM and QA solutions in AM.

【Abstract】The concept of the metaverse involves creating a fully immersive virtual world that allows users to interact with each other and digital objects in a way that is almost indistinguishable from reality. One of the key areas where the metaverse is expected to have an impact is retailing. Although there have been several studies on the use of the metaverse in different industries, this issue is rarely investigated in previous studies in the context of retail companies focusing on users' perceptions. This study accordingly explores the factors impacting the adoption of a metaverse in the retail industry and develops a new model based on the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. In addition, the relationship between the usage intention of the metaverse and product innovation, and the relationship between product innovation and sustainable competitive advantage are investigated. Furthermore, as sustainability is a critical issue in the adoption of innovation by industries, this study aims to further investigate whether sustainability commitment will strengthen the impact of attitude toward metaverse on the intention to use. The data was collected from retail companies in Malaysia and analyzed to evaluate the proposed research model. The outcomes of this research indicated that there is a positive impact of product innovation on sustainable competitive advantage through the adoption of a metaverse in retail companies. In addition, our findings stressed that the intention to use metaverse will lead to product innovation in retail companies. Furthermore, the results revealed that sustainability commitment does not moderate the relationship between attitude toward the metaverse and intention to use, but impacts the usage intention of the metaverse directly.

【Abstract】Out-of-gas errors occur when smart contract programs are provided with inputs that cause excessive gas consumption and which will be easily exploited to perform Denial-of-Service attacks. Various approaches have been proposed to estimate the gas limit of a function in smart contracts to avoid such error. However, underestimation often occurs when the contract is complex In this work, we propose V-Gas, which automatically generates inputs that maximize the gas cost and reduce underestimation. V-Gas is designed based on static analysis and feedback-directedmutational fuzz testing. First, V-Gas builds the gasweighted control flow graph of functions in smart contracts. Then, V-Gas develops gas consumption guided selection and mutation strategies to generate the input that maximize the gas consumption. For evaluation, we implement V-Gas based on js-evm, a widely used Ethereum virtual machine written in Javascript, and conduct experiments on 736 real-world transactions recorded on Ethereum. A total of 44.02% of the transactions would have out-of-gas errors based on the estimation results given by solc, meaning that the recorded real gas consumption for those transactions is larger than the gas limit estimated by solc. In comparison, V-Gas could reduce the underestimation ratio to 13.86%. To evaluate the performance of feedback-directed engine in V-Gas, we implemented other directed fuzzing engines and compared their performance with that of V-Gas. The results showed that V-Gas generates the same or higher gas estimation value on 97.8% of the transactions with less time, usually within 5 minutes. Furthermore, V-Gas has exposed 25 previously unknown out-of-gas vulnerabilities in widely used smart contracts, 6 of which have been assigned unique CVE identifiers in the U.S. National Vulnerability Database.

【Abstract】The concept of a smart city is aimed at enhancing the quality of life for urban residents, and logistic services are a crucial component of this effort. Despite this, the logistics industry has encountered issues due to the exponential growth of logistics volumes, as well as the complexity of processes and lack of transparency. Consequently, it is necessary to develop an efficient management system that offers traceability and condition monitoring capabilities to ensure the safe and high-quality delivery of goods. Moreover, it is crucial to guarantee the accuracy and dependability of distribution data. In this context, this paper proposes a blockchain-enabled IoT logistics system for the efficient tracking and management of high-price shipments. A smart contract based on blockchain technology has been designed for automatic approval and payment, with the aim of distributing shipping information exclusively among legitimate logistics parties. To ensure authentication, a zero-knowledge proof is used to conceal the blockchain address. Moreover, an intelligent parcel (iParcel) containing piezoresistive sensors is developed to pack delivered goods during the shipping process for violation detection such as severe falls or theft. The iParcels are automatically tracked and traced, and if a violation occurs, the contract is cancelled, and payment is refunded. The transaction fee per party is reasonable, particularly for high-price products that guarantee successful shipment.

【Abstract】With the current complexification of image manipulation technologies (ranging from color editing or aspect ratio modifications to AI-generated fake news), many numerical representations can be connected to the same semantic visual content. Thus, ensuring trust and authenticity for tracking near-duplicated visual content (i.e., semantically identical yet digitally different content) becomes challenging from both methodological and technical points of view. Addressing these challenges requires the synergistic combination of methodological solutions from different research fields, while current solutions are heterogeneous and lack interoperability. In this paper, we create an automatic complete lifecycle management workflow for visual content assets represented on blockchains. The workflow is supported by a novel architecture seamlessly integrating near-duplicated content detection, Smart Contract automation, and token brokerage. The architecture leverages a load-balancing framework and near-duplicated content detection to grant properties natively featured by blockchains (security, trust, and transparency) to the authentication of assets in environments where the same semantic content has various digital representations. Subsequently, minted blockchain assets can be used contingently with other state-of-the-art tools, ensuring interoperability with blockchain working standards. The effectiveness of this workflow is demonstrated through open-source example implementations for the Ethereum and Tezos frameworks, illustrating the benefits this process brings to automatic asset generation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) management.

【Abstract】A blackbox data can be used to identify the cause of an accident. And we may need to find blackbox videos recorded by the third party to accurately analyze the cause of the accident. One of the basic requirements of blackbox data is integrity, and this integrity can be provided by uploading the data to blockchains. However, the existing blackbox data storage systems have two big problems, cost and privacy. The transaction fees are the costs necessary to upload data to the blockchains. The transaction fees of the major public blockchain are getting higher. Therefore, if a user uses Bitcoin or Ethereum to upload its blackbox video, the costs could be very expensive. On the other hand, the private information such as driving route could be revealed from the uploaded information to the blockchain. We suggest a cost-effective searchable blackbox data storage system with strong anonymity, i.e. unlinkability, using blockchains. In our scheme, the cost of registering a blackbox video is cost(tr)/ n , where cost(tr) is the cost necessary to upload a transaction to a blockchain and n is the number of uploading users at the same time. Therefore, our scheme is practical with public blockchains such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. In the paper, we suggest a cost-effective searchable black box data storage system with unlinkability using blockchains.

【Abstract】It is crucial to ensure the privacy and authenticity of the owner's information in car insurance claims. However, the current traditional car insurance claims scenario suffers from inefficiency, complex service, unreliable data, and data leakage. Therefore, considering the privacy and sensitivity of insurance information and car owner data, we can use blockchain, smart contracts, and zero-knowledge proof technology to improve the current problems. This paper proposes a novel car insurance claim scheme based on smart contracts, blockchain, and zero-knowledge proof. Our scheme focuses on preserving privacy in the car insurance authorization and claim process. We design a private smart contract for the creation and revocation of car insurance and public smart contract for the authorization and validation of car insurance. By using ZoKrates, generating zero-knowledge proofs off chain and verifying the proofs on chain reduces the amount of data storage and computation on chain and provides privacy protection for sensitive information. Experimental results confirm the efficacy of our scheme in terms of security and performance.

【Abstract】Security indicators, such as the padlock icon indicating SSL encryption in browsers, are established mechanisms to convey secure connections. Currently, such indicators mainly exist for browsers and mobile environments. With the rise of the metaverse, we investigate how to mark secure transitions between applications in virtual reality to so-called sub-metaverses. For this, we first conducted in-depth interviews with domain experts (N=8) to understand the general design dimensions for security indicators in virtual reality (VR). Using these insights and considering additional design constraints, we implemented the five most promising indicators and evaluated them in a user study (N=25). While the visual blinking indicator placed in the periphery performed best regarding accuracy and task completion time, participants subjectively preferred the static visual indicator above the portal. Moreover, the latter received high scores regarding understandability while still being rated low regarding intrusiveness and disturbance. Our findings contribute to a more secure and enjoyable metaverse experience.

【Abstract】The metaverse, which has been the focus of much attention in recent years, has a load-related problem. We focused on the architecture (objects) in the metaverse that users acquire more than necessary as a cause of the load. Since managing all the objects in the metaverse on a user's terminal is difficult, a mechanism that can retain only the necessary objects is required. In this study, we propose a method to manage objects in a distributed manner to retrieve only the necessary objects. We propose a retrieval method that determines which objects to recover based on size and distance, considering the user's visible area, and a retrieval method that determines the shielding relationship calculated from size and location information and excludes unnecessary parts from the distributed objects. The proposed method was evaluated in simulations in two different environments, and a reduction in the number of communication targets was confirmed.

【Abstract】The growth in the popularity of smart contracts has been accompanied by a rise in security attacks targeting smart contracts, which have led to financial losses of millions of dollars and erosion of trust. To enable developers discover vulnerabilities in smart contracts, several static analysis tools have been proposed. However, despite the numerous bug-finding tools, security vulnerabilities abound in smart contracts, and developers rely on finding vulnerabilities manually. Our goal in this dissertation study is to expand the space of security vulnerabilities detection by proposing effective static analysis approaches for smart contracts. We study the effectiveness of the existing static analysis tools and propose solutions for security vulnerabilities detection relying on analyzing the dependency of the contract code on user inputs that lead to security vulnerabilities. Our results of evaluating static analysis tools show that existing static tools for smart contracts have significant false-negatives and false-positives. Further, the results show that our first vulnerability detection approach achieves a significant improvement in the effectiveness of detecting vulnerabilities compared to the prior work.

【Abstract】Smart contracts are gaining popularity as a means to support transparent, traceable, and self-executing decentralized applications, which enable the exchange of value in a trustless environment. Developers of smart contracts rely on various libraries, such as OpenZeppelin for Solidity contracts, to improve application quality and reduce development costs. The API documentations of these libraries are important sources of information for developers who are unfamiliar with the APIs. Yet, maintaining high-quality documentations is non-trivial, and errors in documentations may place barriers for developers to learn the correct usages of APIs. In this paper, we propose a technique, DOCCON, to detect inconsistencies between documentations and the corresponding code for Solidity smart contract libraries. Our fact-based approach allows inconsistencies of different severity levels to be queried, from a database containing precomputed facts about the API code and documentations. DOCCON successfully detected high-priority API documentation errors in popular smart contract libraries, including mismatching parameters, missing requirements, outdated descriptions, etc. Our experiment result shows that DOCCON achieves good precision and is applicable to different libraries: 29 and 22 out of our reported 40 errors have been confirmed and fixed by library developers so far.

【Abstract】With the development of COVID-19 and technology, interest in metaverse has increased. Also, the market for metaverse, especially regarding children as major service users, is growing. However, related studies are lacking comparing the perceptions among major stakeholders, and there is also a lack of metaverse research on parents. The purpose of this study is to examine the comprehensive perception of child-related metaverse by text mining of news articles that could understand the discussions of service providers and parent communities that could understand the discussions of service users. Each of the nine topics were derived, and common and distinct issues were examined. This study provides policy and strategic implications for the child-related metaverse industry.

【Abstract】With the popularization of smartphones, SNS, which allows easy message exchange, has become popular. On the other hand, a metaverse has attracted attention recently. In the metaverse, participants interact with each other through avatars in a virtual space. Therefore, if we can show participants the existing SNS space as the metaverse, we can provide participants with more intuitive use cases. This manner is beneficial for elderly people who are unfamiliar with using smartphones. In this paper, we propose LINE metaverse. LINE is the most popular messaging application in Japan. The LINE metaverse is characterized by replacing the bot mechanism used for marketing using SNS with a metaverse agent. In the LINE metaverse, elderly people can exchange messages via avatars on the metaverse.

【Abstract】Smart contracts have been widely and rapidly used to automate financial and business transactions together with blockchains, helping people make agreements while minimizing trusts. With millions of smart contracts deployed on blockchain, various bugs and vulnerabilities in smart contracts have emerged. Following the rapid development of deep learning, many recent studies have used deep learning for vulnerability detection to conduct security checks before deploying smart contracts. These approaches show effective results on detecting whether a smart contract is vulnerable or not whereas their results on locating suspicious statements responsible for the detected vulnerability are still unsatisfactory. To address this problem, we propose a deep learning based two-phase smart contract debugger for reentrancy vulnerability, one of the most severe vulnerabilities, named as ReVulDL: Reentrancy Vulnerability Detection and Localization. ReVulDL integrates the vulnerability detection and localization into a unified debugging pipeline. For the detection phase, given a smart contract, ReVulDL uses a graph-based pre-training model to learn the complex relationships in propagation chains for detecting whether the smart contract contains a reentrancy vulnerability. For the localization phase, if a reentrancy vulnerability is detected, ReVulDL utilizes interpretable machine learning to locate the suspicious statements in smart contract to provide interpretations of the detected vulnerability. Our large-scale empirical study on 47,398 smart contracts shows that ReVulDL achieves promising results in detecting reentrancy vulnerabilities (e.g., outperforming 16 state-of-the-art vulnerability detection approaches) and locating vulnerable statements (e.g., 70.38% of the vulnerable statements are ranked within Top-10).

【Abstract】Enterprises have paid attention to consortium blockchains, in which multiple authorized organizations participate to form a consortium, in contrast to public blockchains, which consist of unspecified participants. Since a system using a blockchain is based on participants providing/using resources such as nodes to each other, a mechanism to motivate participants to provide resources is important. Typically, a public blockchain realizes an incentive mechanism for providing nodes by unspecified participants through mining rewards and transaction fees associated with a consensus algorithm such as PoW on the platform layer. On the other hand, a consortium blockchain usually does not have an incentive mechanism in the platform itself. In order to maintain and operate a consortium, it is essential that participating organizations provide resources or pay the costs of providing resources. However, because participating organizations use different percentages of the resources, a uniform fee could cause unfairness among the organizations. Therefore, it is necessary to manage billing to remove the gap between the costs borne and the actual usage or/and the unfairness among participants in the consortium. This research aims to realize a billing management method for consortium blockchain-based systems. We propose a smart contract-based service billing management mechanism named "BillingOpsSC" to ensure cross-organizational transparency for billing calculation and management. Furthermore, to ensure fairness among participants, we design a billing calculation model based on metering of the "contribution" by each organization such as providing resources, and the system "usage" by each organization, in the consortium. We implement a prototype of the proposed method including the billing management mechanism and calculation model for Hyperledger Fabric, which is one of the major consortium blockchains, and evaluate the method using the prototype. The results show that our proposed method is effective in ensuring transparency and fairness in billing management among multiple organizations.
