【Abstract】With all the advancements in the last decade in Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS), there has been an exponential increase in the number of applications provided to the Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs). These applications provide unmatched security and safety services. As a result, there is a huge surge in the amount of data being generated and transmitted within the VANETs. In this paper, we have proposed a dual blockchain based decentralized architecture for authentication of the vehicles and secure & efficient communication within the network. The use of individual blockchains for authentication and message sharing makes the network more efficient and fast while also helping to increase the network security. Both the blockchains use a different consensus algorithm which adds another layer of security. The security and performance evaluation of the proposed architecture proves that it is resistant to a number of security attacks and has a lower computational cost, higher throughput, lower transmission delay and higher vehicle verification rate by a significant amount when compared to existing schemes.

【Abstract】Despite the myriad benefits offered by blockchain technology, most of them still face several interrelated issues, such as limited transaction throughput, exorbitant transaction fees, and protracted confirmation times. Payment channel networks have emerged as a promising scalability solution, allowing two mutually distrustful users to engage in multiple off-chain transactions. However, existing schemes based on Hash Time Lock Contract or Anonymous Multi-hop Lock generally cannot ensure strong unlinkability of payments, due to the fact that the time-lock information still remains on the blockchain. To enhance on-chain privacy, a versatile tool was recently proposed by Thyagarajan et al. (CCS'20), named Verifiable Timed Signatures, but it suffers from the dual insufficiencies of linear-increasing performance and time unverifiability (i.e., performance is linear to the number of signature shares, and signatures cannot be ensured recoverable after the specified time). In this paper, we first propose an approach to reduce computational overhead of VTS, which can be applied to enhance other established schemes, such as VTD (S&P'22) and VTLRS (ESORICS'22). To further reduce the computational complexity from O(n) to O(1), we introduce a new cryptographic primitive called Verifiable Timed Adaptor Signatures. Moreover, we extend the VTAS to VTAS(+) which provides the security property of verifiable recovery. We demonstrate the practicality of our proposal via presenting a concrete instantiation and constructing a privacy-enhanced payment channel network. Finally, the comprehensive evaluation reveals that our solutions exhibit superior performance than the state-of-the-art schemes.

【Abstract】In a token offering, investors fund a venture in exchange for tokens that grant rights to future economic output. To many financial industry insiders, tokens have no intrinsic merit and exist only as a way to evade regulations. We demonstrate that generic revenue-based token contracts are indeed economically inferior to equity and lead to over or underproduction. However, an optimally designed token contract, which is a combination of an output presale and an incremental revenue-sharing agreement, yields the same payoffs as equity and debt. Moreover, with entrepreneurial moral hazard, tokens can finance a strictly larger set of ventures than equity.

【Abstract】Although the market for Head-Mounted Display Virtual Reality (HMD VR) devices has been growing along with the metaverse trend, the product has not been as widespread as initially expected. As each user has different purposes for use and prefers different features, various factors are expected to influence customer evaluations. Therefore, the present study aims to: (1) analyze customer reviews of hands-on HMD VR devices, provided with new user experience (UX), using text mining, and artificial neural network techniques; (2) comprehensively examine variables that affect user evaluations of VR devices; and (3) suggest major implications for the future development of VR devices. The research procedure consisted of four steps. First, customer reviews on HMD VR devices were collected from Amazon.com. Second, candidate variables were selected based on a literature review, and sentiment scores were extracted. Third, variables were determined through topic modeling, in-depth interviews, and a review of previous studies. Fourth, an artificial neural network analysis was performed by setting customer evaluation as a dependent variable, and the influence of each variable was checked through feature importance. The results indicate that feature importance can be derived from variables, and actionable implications can be identified, unlike in general sentiment analysis.

【Abstract】A building lifecycle consists of multiple domains, and building information modeling (BIM) applications involve cross-domain knowledge exchange. In the knowledge spiral theory proposed by Nonaka, externalization facilitates knowledge exchange in designing cooperation, and a model library (ML) contains the necessary information for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. However, current MLs are centralized systems that are vulnerable to data tampering and copyright disputes, and the provided models may not match the requirements of current building projects. Therefore, this article develops a blockchain-based parametric ML (BBPML) for BIM collaboration to realize knowledge sharing. The parametric model in our ML can be flexibly applied to a project by adjusting the parameters. A blockchain network provides reliable storage and ensures the upload sequence. The research creates a website based on the proposed system through Ethereum and applies it to a curtain wall project. This article applies the nonaka knowledge spiral theory to improve building information modeling (BIM) cooperation. A blockchain-based model library (ML) is proposed to facilitate knowledge sharing in BIM projects. The system records the building knowledge through a blockchain network to ensure the building knowledge is immutable and quickly traceable in the upload sequence. Our approach has been practiced in a physical curtain project and allows for better BIM collaboration.

【Abstract】The proliferation of immersive services, including virtual reality/augmented reality, holographic content, and the metaverse, has led to an increase in the complexity of communication networks, and consequently, the complexity of network management. Recently, digital twin network technology, which applies digital twin technology to the field of communication networks, has been predicted to be an effective means of managing complex modern networks. In this paper, a digital twin network data pipeline architecture is proposed that demonstrates an integrated structure for flow within the digital twin network and network modeling from a data perspective. In addition, a network traffic modeling technique using data feature extraction techniques is proposed to realize the digital twin network, which requires the use of massive streaming data. The proposed method utilizes the data generated in the OMNeT++ environment and verifies that the learning time is reduced by approximately 25% depending on the feature extraction interval, while the accuracy remains similar.

【Abstract】Cybercriminals are commonly assumed to engage in cybercrime for monetary rewards. Like traditional offenders, they must launder their illicit proceeds to obscure the permanent trails in online environments. The mainstream narrative argues that these offenders engage in complex money laundering schemes because of the use of new technologies. However, empirical research on the money laundering activities associated with cybercrime has been scarce. To address this knowledge gap, the present study analyzes money laundering transactions from 182 Bitcoin addresses belonging to 56 members of the Conti ransomware group using blockchain analysis. The results show that offenders are quite unsophisticated when laundering their illicit proceeds. Most of the addresses transact directly with an entity (52%) and concentrate 80% or more of the illicit proceeds in one singular service (69%). In terms of destinations, exchanges and dark web services are the preferred choices, being involved in 71% and 30% of the transactions respectively. Conversely, the use of mixers is more limited (8%). There are significant differences in money laundering strategies used by offenders based on the amounts of illicit proceeds to launder. Implications for research and policy are discussed.

【Abstract】Driven by emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, 4K/8K video applications, virtual reality, and the metaverse, global internet protocol traffic has experienced an explosive growth in recent years. The surge in traffic imposes higher requirements for the data rate, spectral efficiency, cost, and power consumption of optical transceivers in short-reach optical networks, including data-center interconnects, passive optical networks, and 5G front-haul networks. Recently, a number of self-coherent detection (SCD) systems have been proposed and gained considerable attention due to their spectral efficiency and low cost. Compared with coherent detection, the narrow-linewidth and high-stable local oscillator can be saved at the receiver, significantly reducing the hardware complexity and cost of optical modules. At the same time, machine learning (ML) algorithms have demonstrated a remarkable performance in various types of optical communication applications, including channel equalization, constellation optimization, and optical performance monitoring. ML can also find its place in SCD systems in these scenarios. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the recent progress in SCD systems designed for high-speed optical short- to medium-reach transmission links. We discuss the diverse applications and the future perspectives of ML for these SCD systems.
