Emerging business models in local energy markets: A systematic review of peer-to-peer, community self-consumption, and transactive energy models

【Abstract】The emergence of peer-to-peer, collective or community self-consumption, and transactive energy concepts gives rise to new configurations of business models for local energy trading among a variety of actors. Much attention has been paid in the academic literature to the transition of the underlying energy system with its macroeconomic market framework. However, fewer contributions focus on the microeconomic aspects of the broad set of involved actors. Even though specific case studies highlight single business models, a comprehensive analysis of emerging business models for the entire set of actors is missing. Following this research gap, this paper conducts a systematic literature review of 135 peer-reviewed journal articles to examine business models of actors operating in local energy markets. From 221 businesses in the reviewed literature, nine macro-actor categories are identified. For each type of market actor, a business model archetype is determined and characterised using the business model canvas. The key elements of each business model archetype are discussed, and areas are highlighted where further research is needed. Finally, this paper outlines the differences of business models for their presence in the three local energy market models. Focusing on the identified customers and partner relationships, this study highlights the key actors per market model and the character of the interactions between market participants.

A review of reference architectures for digital manufacturing: Classification, applicability and open issues

【Abstract】The industrial application of digital technologies in manufacturing can result in an increased efficiency of processes and an opportunity to integrate production, logistics and maintenance functions. However, increasingly interconnected manufacturing information means progressively more complex systems. Therefore, there is an ever growing need to provide structure in the design and development of such information systems which is the role of a system architecture. So called 'reference architectures' guide the design of system architectures used in particular applications. Reference architectures are models of information functions and their connections that provide a structured template with common terminology. Over the last decades, various reference architectures relevant to digital systems in manufacturing have been proposed. However, industrial applications of these reference architectures are scarce and it is difficult to compare and analyse them due to their various levels of application and different uses. In this study, we review and classify reference architectures used to support digital systems in manufacturing. Contributions of the paper include proposing criteria for a model to be referred to as a 'reference architecture', an overview and classification of the different perspectives on reference architectures in the literature, and a guideline to support practitioners, developers and academics in selecting a reference architecture.

Barriers to blockchain adoption: Empirical observations from securities services value network

【Abstract】Blockchain can support the transition to a sustainable business by facilitating the traceability of activities that drives responsible behavior in a value delivery network. Despite its potential utility, the adoption rate is still relatively slow, and there are barriers to adopting this radical new technology. This research explores these barriers both from the organizational and business network perspectives. A qualitative study with interview data from financial service sector experts was conducted. In particular, informants represented securities services value network (SSVN). Using abductive reasoning, we found barriers that are further categorized into four di-mensions: psychological-internal, functional-internal, psychological-external, and functional-external. For managers, this study offers new in-depth insights for facilitating new technology adoption, taking into account both company's internal and external viewpoints.

【Abstract】Increasing urban populations due to factors such as more comfortable life and immigration have turned selfsufficient traditional cities into mega-cities and caused several new environmental problems in cities. These problems cannot be solved with the traditional urban understanding as not meet the needs of modern people. Solving the main problems encountered in cities with science and technology approach brings us the concept of smart city. Today, it has become inevitable to offer citizen-oriented solutions to urban problems in order to ensure a sustainable environment for high level of welfare/public health and to manage the effective and correct use of resources. In this review, environmental problems that can be encountered in any city are classified under four main headings as water, waste, air and traffic, and approaches that can be applied in smart city management for the solution of these problems encountered in traditional cities are emphasized in the light of studies in literature, by considering the main environmental problems encountered in cities. Thus, smart methods based solutions are presented against basic problems such as water/wastewater management, waste management, air pollution control and effective transportation encountered in a city.

Reputational contagion and the fall of FTX: Examining the response of tokens to the delegitimization of FTT

【Abstract】Intertwined with the recent fall of cryptocurrency exchange FTX was the unveiling to investors of the lack of asset support for FTX's flagship token FTT. Given interest in reputational contagion, as well as recent academic and investor interest in digital tokens, we are motivated to take advantage of the FTX/FTT event to investigate reputational contagion to other tokens. We employ an event study approach to gauge the impact of the FTX collapse on a variety of tokens. Results of abnormal returns, as well as CARs and CAARs, indicate almost all tokens initiated a persistent bearish trend on the event day.

Linkages between CBDC and cryptocurrency uncertainties, and digital payment stocks

【Abstract】We examine the connectedness between CBDC uncertainty, cryptocurrency policy uncertainty (UCRY policy), cryptocurrency price uncertainty (UCRY price), and digital payment stock returns and volatility using data from November 20, 2015, to December 30, 2022. We find CBDC un-certainty is a net recipient, while UCRY policy and UCRY price are net transmitters. Most digital payment stocks are net recipients except for the three largest of VISA, Mastercard, and American Express. Finally, net pairwise connectedness shows weak connectedness between uncertainties indices and digital payment stocks, consistent with the hedging capability of digital payment stocks against the uncertainties of CBDC and cryptocurrency markets.

【Abstract】YouTube content drives prices and trading volume of low cap cryptocurrencies. Using a sample of 305 YouTube videos, we find significant positive abnormal returns as well as abnormal trading volume in the wake of the coverage of a specific coin. These effects are transitory though, excess returns and excess volume are reversed shortly thereafter.

Forecasting and backtesting systemic risk in the cryptocurrency market

【Abstract】Cryptocurrency has become an increasingly important tool in both portfolio investment and government regulation. As a relatively new asset class, cryptocurrencies are prone to extreme volatility, with the potential for significant downward movements over the short term. This paper uses MES and oCoVaR to forecast the systemic risk in the cryptocurrency market and subse-quently tests the validity based on unconditional coverage and independence. The results of this paper show that a DCC-GARCH model performs well in forecasting systemic risk. The paper also shows that Aoen, EOS and Sinacoin are the best forecasters of systemic risk across the 191 cryptocurrencies analysed over the full estimation period. Our findings have important implica-tions for investors and policy-makers with a vested interest in the cryptocurrency market.

【Abstract】Logistics is a sophisticated system involving third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, warehousing companies, and transport service producers in various transport modes, such as road, rail, air, maritime, and multimodal transportation. Furthermore, it is possible to add customs clearance agencies, insurance companies, banks, and relevant institutions and organizations to the system. Effective logistics systems must sustainably provide customers with quality and satisfactory logistics services using data shared over advanced technologies. Nevertheless, data and information on logistics are usually challenging to collect, process, and understand, as they are primarily unstructured, unreachable, and unstandardized. Blockchain is a new and advanced technology promising to eliminate or mitigate the adverse effects of these difficulties. However, blockchain technology practices in the logistics industry are extraordinarily scarce; and a few blockchain platforms have attempted to produce solutions for a few large-scale and global logistics firms. Hence, the digital transformation process involving blockchain technology for a logistics company encounters the challenge of selecting an appropriate blockchain platform for the logistics industry's needs. Although studies have been carried out in the relevant literature to select a suitable blockchain platform for various industries, few of these studies dealt with selecting the best blockchain platform for the logistics industry. Hence, experimental studies on choosing the proper blockchain platform in the logistics industry that tries to manage outstandingly complicated relations and linkages among stakeholders are currently inadequate. The current study presents a novel, robust, practical, and powerful decision-making tool that can also overcome highly complex uncertainties to identify the most feasible blockchain technology for the logistics industry. The robustness of the study's findings is validated with comprehensive sensitivity and comparative analyses.

The role of natural resources in the management of environmental sustainability: Machine learning approach

【Abstract】This study examines the ability of Asia's natural resources to manage environmental sustainability through digitalization. We analyse 19 Asian nations from 1990 to 2020. In addition to natural resource rents and digi-talization, we consider human capital, economic complexity, trade, urbanisation, energy use, renewable energy consumption, academic freedom, and corruption as variables affecting environmental sustainability. To achieve our goal, we use adaptable machine learning algorithms. The sparse algorithm of ANN suggests that when the range is 0.1-9.87, CO2 is decreasing, but when the range is 0-0.1 and above 9.87, the impact on CO2 emission is positive. When ICT is between 0.18 and .32, its impact on CO2 is negative, but above.32, it's positive. The interaction between natural resources and ICT has a positive impact on CO2 in the.05-0.25,0.85-1.45, and 14.7-17.45 ranges, but a negative impact in the.35-0.65 and 5.65-8.45 ranges. Urbanization, energy use, and economic complexity play the biggest roles in Asian CO2 predictions. The findings suggest that governments in Asian countries should prioritize sustainable management of natural resources through the utilization of infor-mation and communication technology (ICT) resources. Additionally, the article recommends increasing trade integration and cooperation with other Asian countries in the ICT industry and investing in smart urbanization to improve environmental quality. To address energy sustainability, the research suggests prioritizing energy efficiency and promoting renewable energy sources to achieve the goals of SDG7 and SDG13.

A blockchain-based security and trust mechanism for AI-enabled IIoT systems

【Abstract】The complexity and heterogeneity of artificial intelligence (AI) enabled industrial Internet of things (IIoT) lead to lacks of mutual trust between devices and directly affects the data security for the network. Therefore, it is necessary to provide trust mechanisms in AI-enabled IIoT. However, the existing trust mechanisms are not suitable in distributed networks. Thus, this paper presents a blockchain-based cloud-edge-end framework and designs a trust mechanism based on blockchain consensus. It utilizes the BLS-based proof of replication (PoRep) as consensus mechanisms and realizes device mutual trust. The device data is stored in servers to generate proofs and reach consensuses after broadcasting to other nodes. This ensures the data security of networks and provides mutual trust mechanisms between various devices. Moreover, the secret sharing based verifiable delay functions (VDF) is utilized to prevent the servers from calculating data replicas dynamically in PoRep and improve the efficiency of reaching consensus among nodes.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V. Quantification process of carbon emissions in the construction industry

【Abstract】Climate change has raised awareness on the need to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of buildings. To reduce the complexity of quantifying carbon emissions, there is a need for practical guidance on the quantification of lifecycle carbon emissions from buildings. Existing reviews appear to only focus on part of carbon emissions quantification and are therefore deemed unable to provide an overview of how to quantify the building's whole lifecycle carbon emissions. Hence, this study aims to review the quantification process of carbon emissions from cradle to cradle in the construction industry, which included trends in the materials studied, lifecycle stages studied, quantification methods, common data extraction practises, assumptions made and formulas used to quantify carbon emissions. A systematic review was conducted according to the PRISMA methodology. This study identified 699 publications from Scopus and Web of Science, and 65 full-text articles were included in the review. It can be concluded that the current practises lack transparency, which prohibits the comparison of different case studies. Also, all the information required for the quantification of carbon emissions during different stages was specified in detail to guide the carbon quantification process. The review further found that the production stage was the most commonly studied stage in previous research. In cases of missing information, assumptions were made, which were found to be common in practise. The underlying assumptions must be explicitly and thoroughly specified in order to avoid simplification and prevent inaccurate quantification of carbon emissions, and ultimately ensure the effectiveness of low-carbon design strategies. The review also highlighted the challenges in quantifying carbon emissions and proposed that these challenges be addressed by identifying appropriate solutions through the integrated use of digital technologies, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), the Internet of Things (IOT), and blockchain technology. Adoption of these technologies can lead to better data collection and sharing, increased transparency, secure collaboration among stakeholders, and the potential establishment of standardised methodologies for accurate carbon emissions quantification, all of which can lead to improved energy efficiency management in the built environment. Inventory management and information sharing based on blockchain technology

【Abstract】This paper presents a structural framework for blockchain-based supply chains (SCs) and demonstrates how blockchain technology can help realize five crucial changes: common platform, end-to-end information sharing and traceability, real-time update, speedy and efficient asset transfer, and contract automation. The most unique change is that a blockchain-based supply chain operates on a decentralized common platform, in contrast to the tiered structure of a traditional supply chain. Using fundamental analytical models, inventory management and information-sharing benefits from the abovementioned critical changes were quantified. Therefore, the three managerial implications for supply chain resilience are as follows. (1) A blockchain-based SC essentially transforms a multi-tier SC into a one-platform SC, effectively shortening the length of SC tiers and therefore eliminating problems and challenges in multi-tier supply chain management (SCM). (2) A blockchain-based SC can be both time- and cost-efficient. (3) A company on the blockchain platform can reduce the cost and risk/variance associated with its SC partners. These results can substantially contribute to the industry, given that blockchain is in the early stage, thus rendering supply chains smarter and more efficient.

【Abstract】Internet of Things (IoT) vision has astoundingly transcended environmental sensing with integrated computing systems and smart devices, providing seamless connectivity among humans, machines, and their environment to cooperate for convenience and economical benefits. Apart from all the tremendous benefits of IoT, this paradigm still suffers from challenges of security and privacy vulnerabilities and demands a secure system for effective utilization of services in real-world IoT scenarios relying on which the IoT consumers expect secure and trustworthy communications. Trust Management (TM), which is a crucial aspect of security, plays a vital role in ensuring the exchange of information in a secure manner and maintaining the reliability of a system by measuring the degree of trust on IoT devices, reducing the uncertainties and risks involved in the systems. Thus, in recent years, Blockchain technology has been utilized for developing security innovations in TM field for different classes of IoT applications. It can provide tamper-proof data by enabling more reliable trust information and integrity verification, ultimately enhancing its availability and privacy when storing and sharing information. This paper provides a comprehensive survey that aims at analyzing and assessing Blockchain-based decentralized trust management systems (BCDTMS) for IoT. The contributions of this study are threefold; first, we provide the comprehensive and comparative analysis of state-of-the-art BCDTMS devised for different IoT classes such as Internet of Medical of Things (IoMT), Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Industrial IoT (IIoT), and Social IoT (SIoT). To make it an extensive study, we perform a detailed assessment of the existing BCDTMS in the literature in the aspects of Blockchain and TM. Second, we present requirements for developing Blockchain-based TM systems for IoT, and third we have highlighted the challenges in the context of using Blockchain for TM in various IoT applications.

When Is It Wise to Use Blockchain for Platform Operations with Remanufacturing?

【Abstract】Blockchain technology has been widely used in many industries. One current application is in remanufacturing. In this paper we consider the combination of remanufacturing and blockchain, and model a supply chain composed of a manufacturer, a third-party firm, and an online platform. Among them, the manufacturer faces the cap-and-trade regulation and adopts blockchain to record the information on the used products and then remanufactures products. The platform has the power to expand the potential market size and can operate in the marketplace or reselling mode. The third-party firm collects used products for the manufacturer. We conduct a Stackelberg game analysis and obtain the following major findings: First, the optimal production quantities and optimal collection rates with and without blockchain in the marketplace and reselling modes increase with the allocated cap and platform-enabled power. Second, in the reselling or marketplace mode, the manufacturer should not adopt blockchain if the emissions intensity is low; otherwise, it should adopt blockchain. Third, selecting the reselling (marketplace) mode is more profitable for the manufacturer if the platform-enabled power is low (high). Fourth, for quantity coordination, the reselling mode under the wholesale price contract can always coordinate the manufacturer and platform, and the manufacturer, online platform, and third-party firm. However, the marketplace mode with a commission rate can only coordinate the manufacturer, online platform, and third-party firm. For social welfare coordination, the manufacturer, online platform, and third-party firm can achieve coordination in the marketplace or reselling mode. Finally, extending the work to consider the cross-channel effect, we find that the major findings for both quantity coordination and social welfare coordination in the reselling and marketplace modes still hold.

SECHO: A deep reinforcement learning-based scheme for secure handover in mobile edge computing

【Abstract】The experience of users in Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) highly depends on data offloading whose major bottle neck is the design of handover scheme. Existing research advocates that offloading security and quality of service (QoS) should be both considered for an optimal handover. However, recent studies concentrate on improving QoS while neglect security. Due to the complexity of MEC scenarios, generating an optimal handover scheme improving both QoS and security remains a challenge. To solve this problem, we propose SECHO, a secure handover scheme for blockchain-based single-user mobile edge computing system. Then, we design a security policy selection algorithm of offloading tasks to guarantees security performance and controls overhead. Finally, we customize the neural network for a deep reinforcement learning algorithm to realize optimal handover, where a security policy selection method is engaged to collaboratively enhance offloading QoS while decreasing underlying risks. Simulation results show that SECHO leads a 29.6%-302% advantage in overall performance than existing approaches. It proves that our proposal is effective to achieve secure handover while not degrading offloading QoS.

【Abstract】The research aims to investigate the potential of blockchain technology to address the challenges facing traditional tourism businesses in the hospitality industry. By assessing and validating tourism business models, the research explores how blockchain can enhance transparency, efficiency, and cost reduction. This research utilizes the ARDL technique to examine the role of blockchain in the tourism in reducing environmental deterioration in China for the period of 2010-2020. The empirical analysis was used in this study. The study presents findings that support the effectiveness of blockchain in validating tourism business models. The authors conclude by discussing the implications of their research for the hospitality industry and suggest future research directions.

【Abstract】Blockchain has enormous capabilities to transform the traditional business models in countless ways. Banks in India are building collaborative blockchain ecosystems to create an innovative business model and disrupt the traditional one to create further competitive advantages. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between blockchain capabilities (BCC), competitive advantages (CA) and organizational performance (OP). Further, to evaluate the mediating role of CA on the relationship between BCC and OP. In this context, scientific research model consisting of a hypothesis has been developed from the existing literature. The proposed model was tested using statistical data collected from Blockchain specialists, blockchain product marketing managers, experts of future and emergent technology and VP/AVP/Chief Manager/Branch head of banks/ financial Analyst/divisional Managers who are involved in planning and deployment of practical blockchain in banking/financial sector. Data was analyzed and tested through AMOS 22.0 and process macro using a sample of 289 responses. Our empirical result indicated that there is a significant positive relationship between BCC, CA and OP. Furthermore, relationship of BCC and OP partially mediated CA. This paper presents originality and contributes towards the body of knowledge on this subject to understand the relationship and mediation role of CA on the relationship between BCC and OP in Indian banking sector.

Auditable Federated Learning With Byzantine Robustness

【Abstract】Machine learning (ML) has led to disruptive innovations in many fields, such as medical diagnoses. A key enabler for ML is large training data, but existing data, such as medical data, are not fully exploited by ML because of data silos and privacy concerns. Federated learning (FL) is a promising distributed learning paradigm to address this problem. On the other hand, existing FL approaches are vulnerable to poisoning attacks or privacy leakage from a malicious aggregator or client. This article proposes an auditable FL scheme with Byzantine robustness against the aggregator and client: The aggregator is malicious but available, and the client could perform poisoning attacks. First, the Pedersen commitment scheme (PCS) for homomorphic encryption was applied to preserve privacy and for commitments to the FL process to achieve auditability. The auditability enables clients to verify the correctness and consistency of the entire FL process and to identify parties that misbehave. Second, an efficient technique of divide and conquer was designed based on PCS to allow parties to cooperate and securely aggregate gradients to defend against poisoning attacks. This technique enables clients to share no common secret key and cooperate to decrypt ciphertext, guaranteeing a client's privacy even if some other clients are corrupted by adversaries. This technique was optimized to tolerate the dropout of clients. This article reports a formal analysis concerning privacy, efficiency, and auditability against malicious participants. Extensive experiments on various benchmark datasets show that the scheme is robust with high model accuracy against poisoning attacks.

An arbitrable outsourcing data audit scheme supporting credit reward and punishment and multi-user sharing

【Abstract】In the era of the Internet of Things, cloud storage allows users to outsource their data without retaining a local copy. However, a serious problem caused by this pattern is that the data owner loses control of the data. In this case, to ensure outsourced storage data integrity, researchers proposed Provable Data Possession. However, most systems cannot deal with disagreements between entities throughout the process. Due to this, we propose an auditing system for outsourced data. By using undeniable blockchain information, it solves disputes between entities and avoids accounting delays by third-party auditors. A credit chain based on the public blockchain is designed. A novel dynamic credit calculation algorithm is adopted in the credit chain to realize an effective reward and punishment mechanism. Security proofs are provided in detail for the proposed scheme. Evaluation experiments show that compared with existing similar schemes, the scheme achieves arbitrable audit and has a lower computational cost.(c) 2023 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

【Abstract】Medical image analysis using deep neural networks (DNN) has demonstrated state-of-the-art performance in image classification and segmentation tasks, aiding disease diagnosis. The accuracy of the DNN is largely governed by the quality and quantity of the data used to train the model. However, for the medical images, the critical security and privacy concerns regarding sharing of local medical data across medical establishments precludes exploiting the full DNN potential for clinical diagnosis. The federated learning (FL) approach enables the use of local model's parameters to train a global model, while ensuring data privacy and security. In this paper, we review the federated learning applications in medical image analysis with DNNs, highlight the security concerns, cover some efforts to improve FL model performance, and describe the challenges and future research directions.

Blockchain-Based Design of a Government Incentive Mechanism for Manufacturing Supply Chain Data Governance

【Abstract】In the context of "double carbon", constructing green supply chains is the only way to implement sustainable development strategies in the manufacturing industry. This paper, therefore, examines the manufacturing supply chain for low-carbon products. More recently, the lack of technical information flow due to data barriers up and down the supply chain has led to high energy consumption, the serious waste of raw materials, and the substandard production of green products. Therefore, the level of supply chain data governance must be improved to enhance the sustainability of the supply chain. By studying blockchain-based data governance and government policy incentives for manufacturing supply chains, this study constructed an evolutionary game model based on prospect theory for the tripartite relation of government, manufacturers, and retailers. The difference between the perceived and actual value was introduced into a three-way evolutionary game model based on prospect theory to optimize the practical implications of the model. The model was then simulated using system dynamics. Through the simulation, it could be concluded that the ability of the three-way evolutionary game to reach the optimal stability point is only related to the sensitivity of the retailer's perceived value. Additionally, the outcome of the three-way evolutionary game can be unstable, with changes in perceived value sensitivity. Finally, relevant policy recommendations are made. The innovation of this study is establishing a data governance platform that uses data governance to build green supply chains. Additionally, the government was added to the subjects of the game to explore the role of government policy in data governance and sustainable development. In addition, the evolutionary game model was incorporated with prospect theory and traditional expected utility theory, and the rational deficits and preferences of decision makers were taken into account, which brings the results closer to the reality of the situation.

A blockchain is a distributed ledger system that serves as a transparent, understandable, and trustworthy store of data and analysis on the platform for participants to engage with each other. The result of proposing a blockchain-based tracking system is promising. The result and UAT show positive feedback on the use and features of the blockchain-based tracking system. As the world reacted to the pandemic, many organizations provided monitoring with their deliveries, which is a terrific method for businesses to prevent losing valuable customers. According to the findings of the study, organizations prefer to have blockchain-based tracking systems.

The Impact of Perceived Benefits on Blockchain Adoption in Supply Chain Management

【Abstract】Globalization has prompted enterprises worldwide to increasingly seek the optimal supply chain configuration. However, outsourcing, shortened product life cycles, and a reduced supply base severely weaken supply chain risk tolerance. With the emergence of blockchain, enterprises see an opportunity to mitigate supply chain risks. The purpose of our research is to explore supply chain managers' intention to adopt blockchain technology from the perspective of supply chain risk management. Using a survey sample of 203 managers in China and the USA, we explored the impact of four perceived benefits of blockchain technology on supply chain risk resistance by extending the technology acceptance model. The results show that the traceability, transparency, information sharing, and decentralization of blockchain can enhance the perceived usefulness of blockchain in supply chain resilience and responsiveness, and the ability to withstand disruption risks and supply and demand coordination risks encountered in the supply chain, thus promoting the adoption of the technology. In addition, the relationships between supply chain resilience and blockchain technology adoption and between supply chain responsiveness and blockchain technology adoption are more salient for managers with high levels of uncertainty avoidance.

【Abstract】The Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain (BC) are reliable technologies widely employed in various contexts. IoT devices have a lot of potential for data sensing and recording without human intervention, but they also have processing and security issues. Due to their limited computing power, IoT devices cannot use specialized cryptographic security mechanisms. There are various challenges when using traditional cryptographic techniques to transport and store medical records securely. The general public's health depends on having an electronic health record (EHR) system that is current. In the era of e-health and m-health, problems with integrating data from various EHRs, preserving data interoperability, and ensuring that all data access is in the patient's hands are all obstacles to creating a dependable EHR system. If health records get into the wrong hands, they could endanger the lives of patients and their right to privacy. BC technology has become a potent tool for ensuring recorded data's immutability, validity, and confidentiality while enabling decentralized storage. This study focuses on EHR and other types of e-healthcare, evaluating the advantages of complementary technologies and the underlying functional principles. The major BC consensus mechanisms for BC-based EHR systems are analyzed in this study. It also examines several IoT-EHR frameworks' current infrastructures. A breakdown of BC integration's benefits with the IoT-EHR framework is also offered. A BC-based IoT-EHR architecture has been developed to enable the automated sensing of patient records and to store and retrieve these records in a secure and reliable environment. Finally, we conduct a security study to demonstrate the security of our suggested EHR framework.

Plastic Management and Sustainability: A Data-Driven Study

【Abstract】The world is experiencing a rapidly increasing plastic production and consumption trend. The exacerbating plastic crisis has attracted various initiatives and actions across numerous organizations to foster stakeholder collaboration. In particular, academic researchers have paid considerable attention to the inherent supply chain sustainability. This study aims to (1) examine the status quo of plastic management research and provide recommendations and directions gleaned from the literature survey using text mining; and (2) perform descriptive and predictive analysis based on datasets collected from governmental, public, private, and not-for-profit institutions in the United States between 2016 and 2021 to quantify the size and severity of the crisis on various levels. Echoing the same global plastic production trend, our study reveals that the plastic debris that ends up in the ocean is growing exponentially, and global plastic production is expected to fluctuate between 500 and 600 million metric tons by 2025. From a research perspective, there is a remarkable shortage of publications empowering Blockchain technology (BCT) to address the plastic crisis. Little research is related to scaling up the plastic waste collection and re-thinking or re-designing products. There is no significant connection between 're-purpose' and 'innovation'. The industry and not-for-profit organizations are typically the forerunners of the campaign compared to academia in terms of investigating the adoption of technology to address the plastic crisis. This study features rich data-driven results and interpretation.

【Abstract】Organizations see open innovation as important to their future growth strategy. The increasing interest in artificial intelligence has led to a heightened interest in its potential applications in many industries. Many firms invest heavily in artificial intelligence intending to innovate their business models, though managers often lack understanding when trying to implement artificial intelligence in their operations. The data was retrieved from the Scopus database and was analyzed using the R Bibliometrix Biblioshiny and VOSviewer software. The aim of the article is to indicate the consistency in the formation of open innovation processes while applying artificial intelligence and to provide the profile of perspectives on artificial intelligence adoption in innovation management. This paper provides a deeper perception of artificial intelligence and how it can be used to drive open innovation processes and business model innovation within the use of artificial intelligence in open innovation processes and artificial intelligence in the management of open innovation. The authors discuss how recent advances in artificial intelligence have created new opportunities for increased external collaboration. The study found that the rise of artificial intelligence as a key technology for promoting openness and collaboration has ushered in a new era of achievable open innovation. Our presented findings suggest the sequence of open innovation processes powered by artificial intelligence and insights into the artificial intelligence application to innovation management.

【Abstract】In the last six years, there has been a rise in research interest with regard to the applications of blockchain technology in supply chains and how these applications bring benefits to supply chain management. In a broader sense, an essential research focus that has been discussed in the literature is the way in which this emerging blockchain technology in supply chains brings sustainable benefits to a community. The rationale for incorporating cloud technology into a blockchain and integrating the blockchain with machine learning for supply chain applications is to maintain technical sustainability. While previous studies suggested and reported sustainable practices of applying blockchain technology in supply chains, the means with which these practices are brought about by the cloud-based blockchain integrated with machine learning (CBML) have not been thoroughly explored in the literature. The case study presented in this paper aims to fill this gap by exploring technically, environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable practices through the use cases of CBML for supply chain management by the international leading container shipping company Maersk. The use cases by Maersk presented in published documents were collected from the Internet and then analyzed. This document analysis was performed in two ways. The first way was a technical review of the blockchain technology used by Maersk with a consideration of technical sustainability to ensure scalability and big data analytics. The other way was to analyze the applications of the CBML by Maersk to indicate how environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and social sustainability can be achieved. On the other hand, this paper also highlights the negative technical, environmental, economic, and social sustainability impacts caused by Maersk and discusses implications for future research directions.

【Abstract】Numerous sensitive applications, such as healthcare and medical services, need reliable transmission as a prerequisite for the success of the new age of communications technology. Unfortunately, these systems are highly vulnerable to attacks like Sybil, where many false nodes are created and spread with deceitful intentions. Therefore, these false nodes must be instantly identified and isolated from the network due to security concerns and the sensitivity of data utilized in healthcare applications. Especially for life-threatening diseases like COVID-19, it is crucial to have devices connected to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) that can be believed to respond with high reliability and accuracy. Thus, trust-based security offers a safe environment for IoMT applications. This study proposes a blockchain-based fuzzy trust management framework (BFT-IoMT) to detect and isolate Sybil nodes in IoMT networks. The results demonstrate that the proposed BFT-IoMT framework is 25.43% and 12.64%, 12.54% and 6.65%, 37.85% and 19.08%, 17.40% and 8.72%, and 13.04% and 5.05% more efficient and effective in terms of energy consumption, attack detection, trust computation reliability, packet delivery ratio, and throughput, respectively, as compared to the other state-of-the-art frameworks available in the literature.

【Abstract】Now a days with the rapidly increasing development of technology and communication system, the implementation of blockchain is continuously increasing in various sectors. With the increase in massive data in educational sectors there arise a requirement of handling such enormous data. This can be easily and securely handled by blockchain technology due to its scalability, robustness, and resilience characteristics. In this paper, a methodology is presented for systematic meta-analysis of the blockchain applications, technologies, and integration of next-gen technologies for the deployment of education 4.0. The bibliometric analysis, the methodology is divided into three steps: selection strategy, inclusion strategy, and meta-analysis of research contributions are provided based on PRISMA-P. In the selection strategy, different research sources are searched. Selection and sorting of contributing research articles are performed in the inclusion strategy and finally, in a meta-analysis, the critical assessment of the educational management system and security aspects with blockchain deployment is performed. It was observed that most of the research contributions are theoretical concept based without any practical validations. From the results, it was also observed that the blockchain designs presented mainly focus on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. But apart from these, other security concerns such as scalability, flexibility, authorization, mutual authentication, attack resistant, etc. are not explored most. Further, the paper presented a critical analysis of next-gen technologies with blockchain for future education 4.0. This paper is focused to analyze the growing demand of the educational blockchain paradigm (EBP). For this paper presented a meta-analysis of existing research contributions concerning the application area, technology used, real-world examples, and next-gen technologies in education 4.0. Therefore, this paper will enlighten the focus of researchers for future research innovations.

A blockchain-based SLA monitoring and compliance assessment for IoT ecosystems

【Abstract】A Service Level Agreement (SLA) establishes the trustworthiness of service providers and consumers in several domains; including the Internet of Things (IoT). Given the proliferation of Blockchain technology, we find it compelling to reconsider the assumption of trust and centralised governance typically practised in SLA management including monitoring, compliance assessment, and penalty enforcement. Therefore, we argue that, such critical tasks should be operated by blockchain-based smart contracts in a non-repudiable manner beyond the influence of any SLA party. This paper envisions an IoT scenario wherein a firefighting station outsources end-to-end IoT operations to a specialised service provider. The contractual relationship between them is governed by an SLA which stipulates a set of quality requirements and violation consequences. The main contribution of this paper lies in designing, deploying and empirically experimenting a novel blockchain-based SLA monitoring and compliance assessment framework in the context of IoT. This is done by utilising Hyperledger Fabric (HLF), an enterprise-grade blockchain technology. Our work highlights a set of considerations and best practice at two sides, the IoT application monitoring-side and the blockchain-side. Moreover, it experimentally validates the reliability of the proposed monitoring approach, which collects relevant metrics from each IoT component and examines them against the quality requirements stated in the SLA. Finally, we propose a novel design for smart contracts at the blockchain-side, analyse and benchmark the performance, and demonstrate that the new design proves to successfully handle Multiversion Concurrency Control (MVCC) conflicts typically encountered in blockchain applications, while maintaining sound throughput and latency.

Blockchain: A carbon-neutral facilitator or an environmental destroyer?

【Abstract】Analysing the effect of digital technology on carbon emissions is crucial for China to achieve carbon neutrality. This exploration utilises the bootstrap full-and sub-sample techniques to investigate the connection between the blockchain market and carbon neutrality, which further evidences whether blockchain is a carbon-neutral facilitator or an environmental destroyer. The conclusions present that the blockchain index (BCI) exerts positive and negative influences on the carbon neutral index (CNI), which is following the STIRPAT model. The positive effects suggest that the rapid progress of blockchain technology accelerates the process of carbon neutrality and vice versa, underlining that blockchain is a carbon-neutral facilitator in China. But this view could not be supported by the negative impacts, primarily due to the public health event and national carbon policy helping to raise CNI even during the periods with low BCI. Conversely, CNI has a positive effect on BCI, revealing that achieving carbon neutrality in China requires the support of blockchain technology, which in turn promotes the development of the blockchain market. Cross-Domain Access Control Model in Industrial IoT Environment

【Abstract】The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) accelerates smart manufacturing and boosts production efficiency through heterogeneous industrial equipment, intelligent sensors, and actuators. The Industrial Internet of Things is transforming from a traditional factory model to a new manufacturing mode, which allows cross-domain data-sharing among multiple system departments to enable smart manufacturing. A complete industrial product comes from the combined efforts of many different departments. Therefore, secure and reliable cross-domain access control has become the key to ensuring the security of cross-domain communication and resource-sharing. Traditional centralized access control schemes are prone to single-point failure problems. Recently, many researchers have integrated blockchain technology into access control models. However, most blockchain-based approaches use a single-chain structure, which has weak data management capability and scalability, while ensuring system security, and low access control efficiency, making it difficult to meet the needs of multi-domain cooperation in IIoT scenarios. Therefore, this paper proposes a decentralized cross-domain access model based on a master-slave chain with high scalability. Moreover, the model ensures the security and reliability of the master chain through a reputation-based node selection mechanism. Access control efficiency is improved by a grouping strategy retrieval method in the access control process. The experimental benchmarks of the proposed scheme use various performance metrics to highlight its applicability in the IIoT environment. The results show an 82% improvement in the throughput for the master-slave chain structure over the single-chain structure. There is also an improvement in the throughput and latency compared to the results of other studies.

【Abstract】Self-sovereign identity (SSI) is a user-centric, decentralised identity approach that provides a means for identification, authentication, and authorisation without the involvement of external entities, responsible for identity provisioning and management in current centralised and federated approaches. In general, the basic building blocks of an SSI system include decentralised identifiers, verifiable credentials, identity wallets, a verifiable data registry, and three main actors: issuer, identity holder, and verifier. Even though the SSI field is dominated by proposals, SSI systems can be implemented in different ways, which is reflected in the absence of a well-defined architecture. Thus, the best implementation is still a matter of research, the requirements of the individual system, and its field of application. However, well-designed and implemented systems are crucial to avoiding failures, speeding up the development process, ensuring high quality, and the broader adoption of SSI solutions. Hence, the main objective of this study was to identify design patterns and good practices of the SSI ecosystems by reviewing and analysing the literature, technical documentation, and existing SSI implementations. Therefore, the study is built on existing knowledge, and presents a comprehensive catalogue of thirty-five SSI design patterns that can serve as a starting point for a possible SSI system design.

Blockchain-Assisted Hybrid Harris Hawks Optimization Based Deep DDoS Attack Detection in the IoT Environment

【Abstract】The Internet of Things (IoT) is developing as a novel phenomenon that is applied in the growth of several crucial applications. However, these applications continue to function on a centralized storage structure, which leads to several major problems, such as security, privacy, and a single point of failure. In recent years, blockchain (BC) technology has become a pillar for the progression of IoT-based applications. The BC technique is utilized to resolve the security, privacy, and single point of failure (third-part dependency) issues encountered in IoT applications. Conversely, the distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on mining pools revealed the existence of vital fault lines amongst the BC-assisted IoT networks. Therefore, the current study designs a hybrid Harris Hawks with sine cosine and a deep learning-based intrusion detection system (H3SC-DLIDS) for a BC-supported IoT environment. The aim of the presented H3SC-DLIDS approach is to recognize the presence of DDoS attacks in the BC-assisted IoT environment. To enable secure communication in the IoT networks, BC technology is used. The proposed H3SC-DLIDS technique designs a H3SC technique by integrating the concepts of Harris Hawks optimization (HHO) and sine cosine algorithm (SCA) for feature selection. For the intrusion detection process, a long short-term memory auto-encoder (LSTM-AE) model is utilized in this study. Finally, the arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) is implemented for hyperparameter tuning of the LSTM-AE technique. The proposed H3SC-DLIDS method was experimentally validated using the BoT-IoT database, and the results indicate the superior performance of the proposed H3SC-DLIDS technique over other existing methods, with a maximum accuracy of 99.05%.

Supervised Learning by Evolutionary Computation Tuning: An Application to Blockchain-Based Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Cost Model

【Abstract】A pharmaceutical supply chain (PSC) is a system of processes, operations, and organisations for drug delivery. This paper provides a new PSC mathematical cost model, which includes Blockchain technology (BT), that can improve the safety, performance, and transparency of medical information sharing in a healthcare system. We aim to estimate the costs of the BT-based PSC model, select algorithms with minimum prediction errors, and determine the cost components of the model. After the data generation, we applied four Supervised Learning algorithms (k-nearest neighbour, decision tree, support vector machine, and naive Bayes) combined with two Evolutionary Computation algorithms (ant colony optimization and the firefly algorithm). We also used the Feature Weighting approach to assign appropriate weights to all cost model components, revealing their importance. Four performance metrics were used to evaluate the cost model, and the total ranking score (TRS) was used to determine the most reliable predictive algorithms. Our findings show that the ACO-NB and FA-NB algorithms perform better than the other six algorithms in estimating the costs of the model with lower errors, whereas ACO-DT and FA-DT show the worst performance. The findings also indicate that the shortage cost, holding cost, and expired medication cost more strongly influence the cost model than other cost components.

Learned-Index-Based Semantic Keyword Query on Blockchain

【Abstract】Blockchain has become increasingly popular for data management in recent years. However, the existing blockchain systems lack efficient semantic queries, particularly keyword queries. To address this issue, we propose a learned-index-based semantic keyword query architecture on blockchain. First, our architecture records data semantics information to support semantic keyword queries. Second, we establish the lookup table index for semantic information among blocks and the block-level recursive model index for blocks to improve the query efficiency. We store the lookup table in the extended block headers to maintain the result's completeness, and we store recursive model indexes off chain to optimize the maintenance efficiency. Third, we propose a verifiable query algorithm based on our proposed architecture to maintain the result's correctness. Finally, the experimental results show that combining the lookup table and the learned index effectively improves the query efficiency on blockchain.

Chronos: An Efficient Asynchronous Byzantine Ordered Consensus

【Abstract】Byzantine ordered consensus, introduced by Zhang et al. (OSDI 2020), is a new consensus primitive that additionally guarantees a correctness specification of transaction order, allowing nodes to assign fairly an ordering indicator to the committed transaction. Zhang et al. also presented a concrete Byzantine ordered consensus protocol called Pompe in the partially synchronous network model. However, Pompe cannot prevent an adversary from manipulating message delivery time. In this paper, we present Chronos, the first Byzantine ordered consensus protocol in the asynchronous network model, where an adversary can arbitrarily manipulate message delivery time. To construct Chronos, we propose a variant of asynchronous common subset called signal asynchronous common subset protocol, which guarantees the liveness of Chronos. We implement both Chronos and its baseline HoneyBadgerBFT using Go language and deploy them on 100 Amazon t3.medium instances distributed throughout 10 regions across the world. The experimental results show that Chronos is more efficient than HoneyBadgerBFT for small network, achieving peak throughput of 59 368 tx/s when the batch size is 100 000 and the number of nodes is 4, while the peak of HoneyBadgerBFT is 57 077 tx/s.

【摘要】元宇宙是一个由数字世界、物理世界和人际世界组成的三元世界。元宇宙中同样存在着网络安全、数据安全和个人信息安全问题,统称“网信安全”问题。元宇宙作为去中心化的虚拟空间,还对现实世界中的法律是否适用于元宇宙以及如何适用提出了挑战。在元宇宙中,一方面,代码就是“法律”;另一方面,代码不能解决或不宜由代码解决的问题,还是要通过现实世界的法律来解决。设计隐私与设计安全作为法律与代码的结合体,在维护元宇宙三元世界的“网信安全”方面,应得到进一步的强化。

【摘要】[研究目的]政府数据开放共享已成为推进数字政府建设的重要方式。为完善区块链技术下政府数据共享体系,依托“链下扩容”等方案,探究基于区块链的政府数据共享模式、扩充数据共享过程的存储空间、推动更多的政府数据释放其服务价值和经济价值。[研究方法]针对政府数据共享现状与困境,基于共识机制、智能合约、非对称加密等技术分析了区块链赋能政府数据共享的增效机理;构建了开放政府数据“链上链下-双存储”共享模型,以“链上服务,链下存储”的模式拓展区块链的存储空间;将模型应用到“泉城链”平台中,通过实证分析的方法体现模型的实际应用价值。[研究结论]“链上链下-双存储”共享模型创新了数据存储模式,有助于优化开放政府数据的共享模式与流程,为海量政府数据存储提供了参考与借鉴。

【摘要】为解决车联网跨信任域消息认证中拓展性差、认证信息同步慢和认证开销大的问题,提出了基于双层分片区块链的车联网跨信任域高效认证方案。设计了一种面向大量跨信任域消息认证的双层分片区块链架构,通过在全域不同实体层级上构建区块链,提升系统的拓展性,以确保跨域信息安全高效的共享;提出了一种基于Metis图划分算法的车联网区块链分片方法,通过均衡各分片的负载,以适应车联网中各路段认证信息不均的情形,提高大量认证信息上链同步的效率;提出了基于无证书公钥密码的跨域批量认证方案,实现对不同信任域消息的批量认证,降低了跨域消息的认证开销。实验表明,所提方案有效地提升了跨信任域消息的认证效率,相比于其他方案,在大量跨域消息认证上降低了26.4%以上的计算开销。

一种面向工业物联网的远程安全指令控制方案

【摘要】随着工业对智能化不断提高,工业物联网得到了快速发展,其可以有效提高工业生产中的流程效率和决策质量,具有广阔的应用前景。然而,近年来,其安全问题也逐渐凸显。本文针对远程指令控制这一应用场景中存在的指令数据合法性认证、指令发起者匿名性与可监管性兼顾、关键指令须多人签署以及国密化研究较少等问题,设计了一种基于SM9标识密码算法的两方协同群签名算法,并结合区块链实现了面向工业物联网的远程安全指令控制方案,旨在防止非法、错误、不合规指令对工业生产造成破坏,保障工业物联网中远程指令操作的安全性。该方案基于国密SM9标准,方案中群管理员审核指令并与发起指令签署请求的用户协同完成群签名,群签名在保护签名者身份隐私的同时,可以由群管理员在必要时公开签名者身份。通过引入区块链,实现了IIoT平台的去中心化管理,且可以通过智能合约获取指令执行历史数据,方便后续审计与追责。此外,方案在验签阶段还可以通过批量验证有效减少计算消耗,在签名数量超过20条后,计算量就可以减少50%以上。最后,本文对方案进行了安全性分析以及性能分析,且与相关方案进行了对比,结果表明本方案在工业物联网环境下满足安全性和一定的实用性。

【摘要】元宇宙实现了物理空间、数字空间、心理空间的全面连接与三元融合,人类的生产生活场域将从物理空间延伸到数字空间,人类认知世界与改造世界的方式将更多依赖虚实交互与数据驱动。相比当今社会,元宇宙劳动将实现劳动对象从有形物到无形物、劳动主体从机器辅助向人机协同、劳动方式从固定属性向跨越虚实、劳动关系从单一线性到多元弹性的转变。元宇宙劳动将实现生产力的重要突破与生产关系的重大革新,但其带来的问题与风险也将跨越物理与现实,引发虚实混淆的异化风险、新型劳动下的权益保障问题、智能化浪潮下的权责之问等挑战。元宇宙劳动作为人类社会未来劳动形态的重要发展趋势,有必要加快政策设计,构建可信可控的技术发展机制,建立更具韧性的劳动力市场,完善贯通虚实的新业态权责体系,在充分激活其发展潜力的同时前瞻性地防范化解风险。

基于手写字符信息调制的NFT数字艺术图像生成算法的研究

【摘要】在知识产权大保护的主流价值观下,本研究提出了一种基于手写字符信息调制的NFT数字艺术图像生成算法,为数字作品或实物的价值量化、所有权归属等问题提供了解决方案。首先,运用彩色梯度算法进行高频和边缘轮廓的图像分割;其次,使用加权质心Voronoi算法将分割后的背景图像生成点画图像;然后,以点画图像的点集坐标为基准,生成的唯一识别号为约束,放置手写字符,绘制出具有手写字体纹理的调制图像;最后,利用局部空间不变性,实现轮廓图像和背景调制图像的融合。实验表明,本研究算法所生成的NFT图像具有高效的语义契约,在保证唯一性、可溯性、安全性的同时,还具有海量信息容量空间的保障,不仅可用作艺术收藏,还可用作实物或数字作品的防伪鉴权及其增值服务。

【摘要】俄罗斯《数字金融资产法》的出台进一步推动了该国数字经济的发展。分析《数字金融资产法》的制定背景,厘清该法的总体布局与主要内容,对其数字金融资产、数字货币、数字金融资产信息系统运营商等内容进行解读。在司法实践过程中发现其不足之处在于,对数字金融资产与数字货币辨析不清,未建立相关的科学有效监管治理体系。我国应吸取俄罗斯的经验与教训,出台与数字金融资产相关的法律制度,明确数字金融资产适用的范围,合理划定数字货币治理的限度,引入监管沙盒模式,构建科学有效链上链下协同运行的监管治理体系。

【摘要】区块链智能合约因其所具有的去中心化及自我验证的特性而在碎片式交易中拥有天然优势,故一经问世便引起版权、金融等行业的广泛关注。然而,由于计算机程序的运行范式与立足现实的交易逻辑之间终究存在区别,随着商业实践与理论研究的不断深入,智能合约背后的法律困境日渐凸显。为了有效应对传统智能合约交易面临的赋权困难、法律关系模糊、执行结果脱法等问题,学界提出了智能法律合约。通过对智能法律合约的运用,可以在规范层面将智能合约交易拆分为以智能法律合约为核心的赋权层,以及以智能合约为履行工具的执行层。同时为进一步缓解智能合约交易中的执行风险,需要构建出允许法律评价介入执行程序的有效机制。在此过程中,应当着重维持智能合约由去中心化向弱中心化的平稳转化,避免使其丧失个性。

构建数字人民币跨境支付体系的前瞻性研究——基于粤港澳大湾区情境推演的视角

【摘要】通过推导以中国人民银行、指定商业银行、大湾区内跨境商户以及跨境消费者为主体的四方演化博弈模型,对构建数字人民币跨境支付体系所面临的潜在问题开展情境推演研究,并结合深圳试点数据进行模拟仿真分析。结果发现,在大湾区试点过程中,四方博弈主体共同构成一个完整闭环的有机生态体系。其中,作为数字人民币的发行方,央行在跨境支付体系中起主导作用;指定商业银行是承上启下的关键节点,主要通过手续费率定价、发放消费券以及综合推广成本影响博弈进程;跨境商户看重数字人民币的安全性以及节省成本优势;消费者的策略选择主要依赖于获取并使用数字人民币的成本,以及是否从跨境支付活动中受益。基于此,建议加速推进跨境支付参与主体协同发展,切实维护数字人民币的公信力,有效降低跨境支付成本,并丰富跨境支付应用场景,以此有效构建数字人民币跨境支付体系。
