【Abstract】Real-time and vision-based quality control for industrial processes has drawn great interest from both scientists and practitioners, particularly following the transition to Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) and Industry 4.0. Despite considerable progress, most ZDM approaches focus on the accuracy of the inspection process, often neglecting critical factors for application in the shop floor. On one hand, near real-time methods are needed for early defect detection and containment. On the other hand, data scarcity is an issue causing AI methods to overfit. Another concern is the accountability of AI results, since even if an AI pipeline is successfully deployed, its predictions are not verifiable in the long term. In this work, we explore a real-time solution based on lightweight Deep Residual Networks and Blockchain technology to address these issues. Concretely, we propose a two-phase training strategy to boost the performance of baseline classifiers while maintaining low inference times. The performance of the proposed methodology is presented in two different industrial use cases with strict timing requirements, one concerning battery assembly line and the other antenna manufacturing. We validate the proposed method for defect detection and compare the results with common training strategies demonstrating an improvement of 3% and 10% in F1-score and accuracy on the two cases respectively, while lowering inference time by 2.2x compared to existing light architectures. Contributing to the accountability of AI results, we present an IoT framework using Blockchain deployed in Private Ethereum.

【Abstract】Cryptocurrency-based fare-reward scheme has been emerging from on-demand ride-sourcing platforms. The reward scheme provides each passenger with some units of cryptocurrency as rewards for use of ride service. The passengers can redeem the rewards for various redemption options. The redemption options offer the passengers economic benefits to offset a portion of costs of using ride services. In this way, the economic benefits serve as incentives for the passengers to repeatedly use ride services, which leads to increase in passenger demand for the platforms. From a passenger perspective, the reward scheme has a distinctive feature in that economic benefits can fluctuate according to changes in price of cryptocurrency in the future. Therefore, the passengers perceive the benefits differently based on their own risk preference and expectation of future price changes. It creates a challenge for the platforms because the optimal decisions for ride services vary by the value that the passengers place for their cryptocurrency rewards. To tackle this challenge, this paper analyzes the impacts of the reward scheme on on-demand ride-sourcing markets. The analysis is done with a mathematical model where a ride-sourcing platform makes decisions for trip fare, vehicle fleet size and cryptocurrency reward size. The reward decision is available under the assumption that the platform secures as many units of cryptocurrency as it rewards to passengers at their equilibrium price level. The model defines passengers' perceived value of cryptocurrency rewards in terms of risk aversion level and expectation of future price growth of cryptocurrency. Afterwards, we investigate equilibrium and optimal properties of monopoly, social-optimum and second-best optimum ride-sourcing markets. Our analysis gives several key insights on the markets. First, the markets always locate at normal regime where interactions between passenger demand and vehicle supply for ride services converges to a stable equilibrium state. Second, this study shows that a ride-sourcing platform would make a decision to reward if passengers expect larger economic benefits from future redemption of cryptocurrency rewards than their current value. Third, it is shown that the quality of ride services would get worse because average pick-up time for passengers and drivers gets longer with more passenger retention. Fourth, this paper finds that the markets have more room to improve profit or social welfare as passengers expect larger speculative gains from reward redemption.

【Abstract】PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the potential of NFTs in revolutionizing innovation management and information systems. Innovations done by firms are blatantly used by other firms to develop cheap knock-off. This leads to huge economic loses to the firm investing in research and development activities. Firms are in need of trusted, immutable and verifiable means of storing information which cannot be used by others, even if publically available without their consent. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) appear to be one such solution to this problem that has recently attracted a lot of investor interest. Using NFTs the information is tokenized and is stored in a secure manner. Design/methodology/approachThrough this scoping review, the authors investigate the influence of NFTs towards the innovation management from the dual aspects of management and information systems. This scoping review is underpinned by the five-stage framework by Arksey and O'Malley. The five stages of Arksey and O'Malley's framework were used in this analysis to classify the literature through five stages of identifying the initial research questions; locating relevant studies; study selection; charting the data; and compiling, summarizing and reporting the results. FindingsThis study suggests that NFTs on the blockchain have significant potential to revolutionize innovation management and information systems. Theoretical frameworks used in investigating the role of digital tokens in blockchain management are mainly based on contracts, diversity theory, portfolio theory and faking likelihood theory. The study reveals gaps in the literature, particularly in the under-researched areas of behavioural psychology and social psychology theories. The appropriate regulation and regulation authority for different types of digital tokens are required. The study also presents archetypes that represent patterns in the current landscape of blockchain tokens, which have significant potential for future research and practical applications. Originality/valueThis study is unique in its approach to assessing the future of NFTs in the field of innovation and information management. While many existing reviews have focused on describing the progress and development of NFTs in the past, this study takes a forward-looking perspective and projects the future potential of NFTs. This innovative approach allows for a deeper understanding of the potential impact of NFTs in various fields such as entrepreneurship, innovation management and tokenomics. Therefore, this study contributes to the literature on NFTs by providing insights and recommendations for future research and practical applications.

【Abstract】Predicting price trends of cryptocurrencies is a challenging task due to the highly speculative cryptocurrency market. Prior studies mainly investigate predictors such as historical trading data, macroeconomic development, and public interests in cryptocurrencies for price trend prediction while ignoring the predictive role of the relations between cryptocurrencies. In fact, the price movement of a cryptocurrency may be affected by those of other cryptocurrencies, thus, incorporating cryptocurrency interrelations can further improve the prediction performance. In this paper, we propose a novel end-to-end model for price trend prediction using long short-term memory (LSTM) and relationwise graph attention network (ReGAT), in which both individual cryptocurrency features and cryptocurrency relations are considered. Specifically, a cryptocurrency network is built by using shared features between cryptocurrencies. Further, LSTM is used to profile sequential patterns of individual cryptocurrency features. To fully extract network features, ReGAT is designed to aggregate information conveyed by different types of relations while automatically differentiating their importance. Finally, the conventional and network features are concatenated to predict the price trend. The effectiveness of LSTM-ReGAT is validated using real-world cryptocurrency market data. The trading simulations for Bitcoin and portfolios reveal that our model obtains the highest profits. Our study provides insightful implications for investment decision support in cryptocurrency market.

【Abstract】This study examines the connectedness in high-order moments between cryptocurrency, major stock (U.S., U.K., Eurozone, and Japan), and commodity (gold and oil) markets. Using intraday data from 2020 to 2022 and the time and frequency connectedness models of Diebold and Yilmaz (Int J Forecast 28(1):57-66, 2012) and Barunik and Krehlik (J Financ Econom 16(2):271-296, 2018), we investigate spillovers among the markets in realized volatility, the jump component of realized volatility, realized skewness, and realized kurtosis. These higher-order moments allow us to identify the unique characteristics of financial returns, such as asymmetry and fat tails, thereby capturing various market risks such as downside risk and tail risk. Our results show that the cryptocurrency, stock, and commodity markets are highly connected in terms of volatility and in the jump component of volatility, while their connectedness in skewness and kurtosis is smaller. Moreover, jump and volatility connectedness are more persistent than that of skewness and kurtosis connectedness. Our rolling-window analysis of the connectedness models shows that connectedness varies over time across all moments, and tends to increase during periods of high uncertainty. Finally, we show the potential of gold and oil as hedging and safe-haven investments for other markets given that they are the least connected to other markets across all moments and investment horizons. Our findings provide useful information for designing effective portfolio management and cryptocurrency regulations.

【Abstract】Estimates of agents in a distributed consensus control are aligned with a particular value through interacting on communication graphs, which are of particular interest for researchers in the field of multi-agent coordination. Following this pattern, a discrete-time constrained consensus issue with generalized time delays is first established in this article, which is manipulated into an optimization problem via a quadratic performance index introduced as a global objective function. Then, a novel consensus scheme is investigated and proposed for handling this problem, enabling the consensus to approach the desired state globally and rapidly with optimal system property ensured. Besides, to advance the convergence speed and stability in resisting constant bias or oscillation, an adjustment control method is explored to construct a modified consensus scheme; further, to enhance the scene adaptability, fix topologies are extended to switching ones, and the latter is involved to develop another scheme on this basis. Moreover, the convergence and robustness of these three proposed consensus schemes are substantiated by theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. To highlight the practical implementations, the proposed consensus schemes are incorporated with a winner-take-all operation to accomplish multi-agent competitive coordination in a distributed way, and the results embody their effectiveness and superior consensus control ability, along with strong plasticity. Note to Practitioners-This paper is dedicated to investigating and optimizing distributed consensus schemes with time delays and output saturation with application to the competitive coordination of multi-agent systems. On the one hand, the consensus problem with output saturation receives limited attention, and few consensus algorithms consider both saturation limitation and channel gain. On the other hand, most existing studies on consensus with saturation consider simply the dynamic behaviour of agents without employing optimization, thus limiting further improvement of system performance. In this paper, a consensus algorithm is built from an optimization perspective that guarantees the state consensus of a multi-agent system with output constraints and generalized time delays. In addition, a consensus scheme is designed in a discrete-time framework and further modified and perfected along with the idea of considering time delays and expanding diverse topologies. Finally, experiments are conducted by applying the consensus scheme to a winner-take-all operation, with contributions of this paper verified.

【Abstract】In the recent health care era, biomedical documents play a crucial role, and they contain much evidence-based documentation associated with many stakeholders data. Protecting those confidential research documents is more difficult and effective, and a significant process in the medical-based research domain. Those bio-documentation related to health care and other relevant community-valued data are suggested by medical professionals and processed. Many traditional security mechanisms such as akteonline and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) are used to protect the biomedical documents as they consider the problem of non-repudiation and data integrity related to the retrieval and storage of documents. Thus, there is a need for a comprehensive framework that improves protection in terms of cost and response time related to biomedical documents. In this research work, blockchain-based biomedical document protection framework (BBDPF) is proposed, which includes blockchain-based biomedical data protection (BBDP) and blockchain-based biomedical data retrieval (BBDR) algorithms. BBDP and BBDR algorithms provide consistency on the data to prevent data modification and interception of confidential data with proper data validation. Both the algorithms have strong cryptographic mechanisms to withstand post-quantum security risks, ensuring the integrity of biomedical document retrieval and non-deny of data retrieval transactions. In the performance analysis, Ethereum blockchain infrastructure is deployed BBDPF and smart contracts using Solidity language. In the performance analysis, request time and searching time are determined based on the number of request to ensure data integrity, non-repudiation, and smart contracts for the proposed hybrid model as it gets increased gradually. A modified prototype is built with a web-based interface to prove the concept and evaluate the proposed framework. The experimental results revealed that the proposed framework renders data integrity, non-repudiation, and support for smart contracts with Query Notary Service, MedRec, MedShare, and Medlock.

【Abstract】Macao is a tourist city. It is home to the Ruins of Saint Paul's, a unique 100-year-old landmark, which is still standing with manual maintenance, even after three fires and reconstruction events. Therefore, the continuous preservation of its culture, heritage education, and construction are important issues for Macao. With the development of digital technology in recent years, users can quickly search historical sites and save two-dimensional and three-dimensional images and videos through smartphones. These methods also enhance the communication power of culture. Virtual browsing on a smartphone requires computing power and storage space; yet, virtual reality devices are not widely used. Therefore, augmented reality and virtual reality are rarely used simultaneously for three-dimensional interactive guided tours and operation experiences on the same theme. However, by quickly creating virtual reality scenarios and preserving historical sites on mobile devices, 4DAGE's 4DKanKan technology can provide augmented reality and metaverse virtual reality experiences. 4DKanKan can also integrate mobile guides and navigation software to connect mobile devices and assist in cultural inheritance and conduct sustainable education. This research linked this technology to the web by incorporating augmented reality and virtual reality technology to make designs and discussed the influences among service design, behavioral intentions, and learning effects. We collated and analyzed relevant data and text materials through systematic testing, observation, operation processes, and semi-structured interviews. The PLS multigroup structural model was used to explore and analyze the degree of influence and explanatory power of system quality, information quality, behavioral intention, and learning effects among themselves. The results of this study show that most users accepted the proposed innovative mode of operation and found it to be interesting and fun. Augmented reality is not limited by space or time; however, virtual reality devices taking too long to operate, switching too frequently, and having too many functional interfaces can cause operational problems. This study identified and modified the influencing factors and problems of the proposed system, with the aim of continuing to expand the applications of 4DKanKan to other cultural attractions or museums in the future. In addition, the research results can provide a reference for the sustainable development of related cultural sites.

【Abstract】To sustain market stability, it is crucial to research the impact of risk resonance across industries. In this paper, we demonstrate the dynamic risk resonance between various sectors in the Chinese market. To do so, by using a recently developed method that divides spillover measures based on variance decompositions into their components at different frequency ranges, a set of frequency spillover matrices is obtained to show the overall risk resonance within sectors. Second, we use a complex network to investigate the risk contagion path among different industries. The research results show that: (1) the risk resonance effect varies significantly over time; (2) during our sample period, the transportation and utilities industries are net transmitters; (3) the risk resonance mechanism is frequency dependent. Spillovers generated at low-frequency, extreme occurrences have a long-lasting effect on the industry's risk resonance; and (4) extreme events such as the financial crisis and the COVID-19 will enhance the risk resonance effect. The results of our research can provide a reference for market participants to formulate corresponding regulatory and investment strategies.(c) 2023 Published by Elsevier B.V.

【Abstract】With the rapid advances in computing and networking technologies, there have led to the creation of a novel and booming set of payment services, known as cryptocurrencies or digital tokens. Many are available for exchanges worldwide, inviting investors to trade with costs, quality, and safety that vary widely. Nevertheless, Blockchain transaction data have complex time and space dependencies, and historical transaction data reflect the transaction trends of cryptocurrencies to a certain extent, thus identifying the illegal behaviors of transactions such as money laundering more at the earliest. In this article, we propose a novel cryptocurrency abnormal transaction detection method with spatio-temporal and global representation, namely CTDM. CTDM combines EvolveGCN with MGU and global representations to achieve better performance. In addition, CTDM needs fewer learning parameters through MGU, which leads to less training time. Experimental results show that the proposed CTDM method outperforms SOTA Blockchain abnormal transaction detection methods.

【Abstract】Environmental monitoring is a growing application of the Internet of Things. The low cost of the sensor nodes, LoRa connectivity, and increased awareness of environmental issues have motivated many citizens to participate in open IoT monitoring applications. However, the value of these applications for decision makers is limited since the data from the IoT sensors do not have sufficient guarantees to be trusted. In this paper, we introduce a new concept that attributes value to both IoT data and devices, such as sensor nodes and gateways, and leverage distributed ledger technology to enable a data trust system. A first design decision was to assign Ethereum addresses with their associated public and private key pairs to all actors. This allows the authentication of data senders and hence the accounting for the contribution of each participant. Secondly, we introduce an auditor to validate the received IoT data. The results of these audits increase the trust in the quality of the data. We present the architectural components that we designed to enhance trust in open IoT monitoring applications and present an operational prototype to show the feasibility of the implementation. By achieving both trust in the data and accounting of contributions for giving rewards, open participatory IoT monitoring applications can become both valuable and sustainable. Then, trusted open monitoring may complement commercial solutions as a technical and economic alternative for addressing the increasing environmental monitoring needs of our society.

【Abstract】Recent years have seen developments in distributed ledger technologies, such as blockchain, that have led to significant growth in the number and type of digital assets available. In this article we review the current practice of the small number of firms globally reporting digital assets on their financial statements. We then assess potential treatments under current GAAP, namely as intangibles, inventory or financial instruments. Finally, we provide policy advice to standard setters, with a call to either develop a new stand-alone standard or to amend the definition of financial instruments to include cryptocurrencies, to allow greater comparability and understandability in firms' reporting.Recent years have seen significant growth in the number and type of digital assets available. 【Abstract】The Blockchain (BCT) is the first decentralized ledger to include a trust mechanism in its design. It establishes a trustworthy framework for distributed commands by using data redundancy at several nodes. Conspicuously, the current study presents a BCT-based lightweight IoT information exchange security architecture for data exchange. The proposed technique uses a dual chain methodology, namely transaction and data BCT working together to provide distributed storage and tamper-proofing of data. Moreover, Transaction BCT is enhanced by a consensus algorithm using a practical Byzantine fault-tolerant (PBFT) mechanism. The proposed algorithm can increase data registering efficiency, transactions, and privacy protection BCT. It is deduced that local dominance can be avoided using the dynamic game strategy of node cooperation. Furthermore, by reporting the node's global reputation value, the status of the unknown node may be approximated. The high-trust measure is utilized to adjust the weight of the affected node in the combined node-set, leading to the Bayesian equilibrium. The proposed model is validated in several experimental simulations and results are compared with state-of-the-art techniques. Based on the results, enhanced performance is registered for the proposed techniques in terms of temporal delay, statistical efficiency, reliability, and stability.

【Abstract】Satellite Internet-of-Things (IoT) is a critical part to build information infrastructure for environmental and ecological monitoring in remote areas where the cellular networks are uneasy to cover. When massive IoT terminals pour in the crowded satellite channels, how to enhance the spectrum utility of satellite band and guarantee the system capacity calls for full investigations. In this paper, a secure spectrum optimization scheme is proposed in satellite IoT by introducing blockchain to hamper malicious users to involve in the spectrum sharing. A market-oriented spectrum optimization strategy is designed to improve the satellite systems' benefits wherein the heterogeneous satellite channels are fully be considered and priced. In this circumstance, differentiated pricing is adopted to satisfy the various spectrum users' demands. When applying blockchain to secure the spectrum trading, the edge computing along with the mechanism of user reputation are devised to address the concerns of limited computation power for general IoT devices. Besides, the consensus algorithm of Delegated Proof of Stake is used to improve the computing efficiency so as to better fit in the application circumstance of satellite IoT. Numerical results are provided to evaluate the performances of our proposed solution on satellite channel pricing and system benefits.

Can PoW Consensus Protocol Resist the Whale Attack?

【Abstract】Proof of Work (PoW) is the most widely used consensus protocol. However, due to the hash rate competition mechanism, longest chain principle, and transaction fee mechanism of the PoW consensus protocol, malicious nodes can launch attacks to obtain more relative revenue than honest mining, which will discourage honest miners from packing transactions into blocks and verifying blocks. As a result, the speed of the nodes reaching consensus in the network is slowed down, or even consensus cannot be reached, which ultimately affects the security of the PoW consensus protocol. In this paper, the Markov Decision Process (MDP) is used to simulate the whale attack launched by malicious nodes, and evaluate the capability of PoW consensus protocol against the whale attack. The experimental results show that the PoW consensus protocol is secure in the Bitcoin network when the transaction fee is set in the range of 0.002-0.3 block rewards and the transaction volume should not exceed 21.09 block rewards. In addition, the PoW consensus protocol will be more secure with the adjustment of parameters such as the number of block confirmations, block generation interval and block size.

【Abstract】Merkle tree is applied in diverse applications, namely, Blockchain, smart grid, IoT, Biomedical, financial transactions, etc., to verify authenticity and integrity. Also, the Merkle tree is used in privacy-preserving computing. However, the Merkle tree is a computationally costly data structure. It uses cryptographic string hash functions to partially verify the data integrity and authenticity of a data block. Moreover, the verification process creates unnecessary network traffic because it requires partial hash values to verify a particular block. Furthermore, the performance of the Merkle tree also depends on the network latency. Therefore, it is not feasible for most of the applications. To address the above issue, we proposed an alternative model to replace the Merkle tree, called HEXB-LOOM, and it is implemented using hash, Exclusive-OR, and Bloom Filter. Our proposed model's performance does not depends on network latency for verification of data block's authenticity and integrity. HEX-BLOOM uses an approximation model, Bloom Filter. Moreover, it employs a deterministic model for final verification of the correctness. In this paper, we show that our proposed model is better than the state-of-the-art Merkle tree in every aspect.

For example, Cross-Chain technologies have been proposed to enable information interaction and value transfer between two blockchains. In Cross-Chain asset transaction, the Hashed Timelock Contract (HTLC for short) algorithm is the most widely used to control asset transaction. However, the HTLC algorithm has a problem of low-level security assurance in practical applications: Attackers can associate the accounts of both parties involved in a Cross-Chain transaction by comparing contract parameters on different chains, which leads to the disclosure of identity privacy information of both relevant parties in the Cross-Chain transactions. In order to protect the identity privacy information of Cross-Chain traders, a new privacy protection method for Cross-Chain asset transaction was proposed based on Paillier homomorphic encryption (PTLC for short) in this paper, which uses Paillier homomorphic encryption to replace hash encryption in privacy protection process. It not only maintains a high security of Cross-Chain asset transaction, but also solves the major problem of identity privacy information leakage during whole asset transaction process. Experiments of cross-chain asset transactions are conducted in two different Ethereum private chains, and experimental results show that the proposed method PTLC can protect the identity privacy information effectively and achieve a low GAS consumption value in the Cross-Chain process.

【Abstract】Trust is increasingly becoming a key consideration in the design of autonomous robotic systems. In industrial applications, security and trust in the system are requirements for widespread adoption. Blockchain technologies have emerged as a potential solution to address identity management and secure data aggregation and control. However, the vast majority of works to date utilize Ethereum and smart contracts that are not scalable or well suited for industrial applications. This paper presents what is, to the best of our knowledge, the first integration of ROS 2 with the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain. With a framework that leverages Fabric smart contracts and ROS 2 through a Go application, we delve into the potential of using blockchain for controlling robots, and gathering and processing their data. We demonstrate the applicability of the proposed framework to an inventory management use-case where different robots are used to detect objects of interest in a given area. Designed to meet the requirements of distributed robotic systems, we show that the performance of the robots is not impacted significantly by the blockchain layer. At the same time, we provide examples for developing other applications that integrate Fabric smart contracts with ROS 2. Our results pave the way for further adoption of blockchain technologies in autonomous robotic systems for building trustable data sharing.
