【Abstract】During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) emergency, many hospitals were built or renovated around the world to meet the challenges posed by the rising number of infected cases. Environmental management in the hospital life cycle is vital in preventing nosocomial infection and includes many infection control procedures. In certain urgent situations, a hospital must be completed quickly, and work process approval and supervision must therefore be accelerated. Thus, many works cannot be checked in detail. This results in a lack of work liability control and increases the difficulty of ensuring the fulfillment of key infection prevention measures. This study investigates how blockchain technology can transform the work quality inspection workflow to assist in nosocomial infection control under a fast delivery requirement. A blockchain-based life-cycle environmental management framework is proposed to track the fulfillment of crucial infection control measures in the design, construction, and operation stages of hospitals. The proposed framework allows for work quality checking after the work is completed, when some work cannot be checked on time. Illustrative use cases are selected to demonstrate the capabilities of the developed solution. This study provides new insights into applying blockchain technology to address the challenge of environmental management brought by rapid delivery requirements. (c) 2022 THE AUTHORS. 【Abstract】The decentralization and transparency have provided wide acceptance of blockchain technology in various sectors through numerous applications. The claimed security services by blockchain have been proved using various cryptographic techniques, mainly public key infrastructure and digital signatures. However, the use of generic cryptographic primitives using large prime numbers or elliptic curves with logarithms is going to be an issue with quantum computers as those techniques are vulnerable in post-quantum era. Therefore, the paradigm shift from pre-quantum to the post-quantum era has necessitated new cryptographic developments which are robust against quantum attacks and applicable in blockchain for post-quantum decentralization. Therefore, we have presented a solution for post-quantum decentralization in the blockchain. It uses lattices with polynomials for identity-based encryption (IBE) and aggregate signatures for the consensus to ensure efficiency and suitability in post-quantum blockchain applications. We experiment the proposed approach based on delay, throughput, energy consumption and complexity. The comparative results prove that the presented work is efficient.

【Abstract】In this paper, we introduce a concept of transparent integrity auditing and propose a concrete scheme based on the blockchain, which goes one step beyond existing public auditing schemes, since the auditing does not rely on third-party auditors while freeing users from heavy communication costs on auditing the data integrity. Then we construct a secure transparent deduplication scheme based on the blockchain that supports deduplication over encrypted data and enables users to attest the deduplication pattern on the cloud server. Such a scheme allows users to directly benefit from data deduplication and protects data content against anyone who does not own the data. Finally, we integrate the proposed transparent integrity auditing scheme and transparent deduplication scheme into one system, dubbed BLIND. We evaluate BLIND from security and efficiency, which demonstrates that BLIND achieves a strong security guarantee with high efficiency.

【Abstract】Blockchain systems face two emergent problems, namely scalability and privacy, each of which has been addressed independently. However, how to achieve privacy and scalability simultaneously remains a challenging problem for blockchains. In this article, we propose a privacy-preserving and scalable permissioned blockchain system called HyperMaze employing the zero knowledge proof technique and a hierarchical system architecture. It gains scalability by adopting a hierarchy of multiple blockchains that processes transactions in parallel. We design an ID-based dual-balance account model where an identity-based account is associated with two types of balances-a plaintext balance and a private (zero-knowledge) balance. Furthermore, we design a two-phase cross-chain transaction mechanism (2PXT) to achieve transaction privacy for both intra-chain and cross-chain transactions. We rigorously formulate a security model for HyperMaze under the universal composability framework, and then provide a simulation-based security proof. A prototype of HyperMaze is implemented and a series of experiments are conducted over up to 2,600 nodes to evaluate its performance. The experimental results show that a 4-level, (7,10)-threshold, 6-ary HyperMaze system can reach 19,440 TPS and the transaction confirmation latency is only 9.5 seconds. To our best knowledge, HyperMaze is the first high-throughput privacy-preserving blockchain whose throughput is over 19,000 TPS.

【Abstract】Decentralized storage (DS) projects such as Filecoin are gaining traction. Their openness mandates effective auditing mechanisms to assure users that their data remains intact. A blockchain is typically employed here as an unbiased public auditor. While the case for static data is relatively easy to handle, on-chain auditing of dynamic data with practical performance guarantees is still an open problem. Dynamic Proof-of-Storage (PoS) schemes developed for conventional cloud storage are not applicable to DS, since they require large storage proofs and/or large auditor states that are unmanageable by a resource-constrained blockchain. To fill the gap, we propose a family of dynamic on-chain auditing protocols that can produce concretely small auditor states while retaining the compact proofs promised by static PoS schemes. Our design revolves around a set of succinct data structures and optimization techniques for index information management. With proper instantiation and realistic parameters, our protocols can achieve 0.25MB on-chain state and 1.2KB storage proof for the auditing of 1TB data, outperforming previous dynamic PoS schemes that are adaptable for DS by orders of magnitude. As another practical contribution, we introduce a data abstraction layer that allows one to deploy the auditing protocols on arbitrary storage systems hosting dynamic data.

【Abstract】In a public blockchain system applying Proof of Work (PoW), the participants need to compete with their computing resources for reward, which is challenging for resource-limited devices. Mobile blockchain is proposed to facilitate the application of blockchain for mobile service, in which the lightweight devices can participate mining by renting resources from the Cloud Computing Service Provider (CCSP), but CCSP usually does not have the information about the demand preference of users. In this article, a contract model is adopted to address the cloud computing resource allocation and pricing problem in the mobile blockchain. In particular, an adverse selection contract solution is proposed to overcome the information asymmetry problem, and resource pooling is introduced to improve the stability of users' rewards. Simulation results show that the information asymmetry problem is well overcome by adverse selection contract so that CCSP can obtain more utility than linear pricing contracts. Furthermore, the resource pooling could effectively improve the users' and CCSP's utilities. When the size of the mining pool is large enough, it can achieve an improvement effect of more than 10 times. The effect of pool size and user type distribution on CCSP's utility is also studied.

Byzantine-Fault-Tolerant Consensus via Reinforcement Learning for Permissioned Blockchain-Empowered V2X Network

【Abstract】Blockchain has been forming the central piece of various types of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) network for trusted data exchange. Recently, permissioned blockchains garner particular attention thanks to their improved scalability and diverse needs from different organizations. One representative example of permissioned blockchain is Hyperledger Fabric ("Fabric"). Due to its unique execute-order procedure, there is a critical need for a client to select an optimal number of peers. The interesting problem that this paper targets to address is the tradeoff in the number of peers: a too large number will degrade scalability while a too small number will make the network vulnerable to faulty nodes. This optimization issue gets especially challenging in V2X networks due to mobility of nodes: a transaction must be executed, and the associated block must be committed before the vehicle leaves a network. To this end, this paper proposes a mechanism for selecting an optimal set of peers based on reinforcement learning (RL) to keep a Fabric-empowered V2X network impervious to dynamicity due to mobility. We model the RL as a contextual multi-armed bandit (MAB) problem. The results demonstrate the outperformance of the proposed scheme. 【Abstract】Blockchain technology is being applied worldwide. Although a large body of blockchain research has been conducted in various fields, little is known about press perspectives on adopting blockchain in journalism. This study explores the determinants of applying blockchain in jour-nalism activities in Vietnam. Based on Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and previous research, we surveyed 287 people working at press agencies in Vietnam. The results from testing nine research hypotheses show that five factors, namely Technology Affinity, Effort Expectancy, Facilitating Condition, Technology Readiness, and Regulatory Sup-port, positively impact the intention of applying Blockchain in journalism activities in Vietnam. Two factors, namely Performance Expectancy and Trust, were not positively strongly correlated to the use of blockchain. Besides, Regulatory Support is found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between Facilitating Condition and Behavioral Intention.

【Abstract】The Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain, the hottest frontier technologies in recent years, are expected to lead the next technological revolution. Blockchain promises to solve the current challenges encountered by the IoT. However, most of the proposed blockchain-based IoT architectures, which are based on discrete logarithm or large integer factorization problems, are susceptible to quantum attacks. Several quantum-resistant blockchain schemes have recently been proposed. However, the efficiency of their construction or the equipment required is not satisfactory. In this paper, to construct a more efficient postquantum blockchain infrastructure, we propose blockchain architecture for the IoT over the NTRU lattice and provide a cryptographic security proof of the scheme. Attributed to the more efficient underlying lattice structure, our scheme has excellent performance when compared to the existing quantum-resistant blockchain scheme, and we reduce the transaction size from hundreds of megabytes to several kilobytes. To further improve the blockchain's performance, we present the general framework of segregated witnesses and aggregate signatures over the NTRU lattice. Our scheme promises a blockchain solution for resource-constrained environments.

【Abstract】In-person banking is still an important part of financial services around the world. Hybrid bank branches with service robots can improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. An efficient autonomous Know-Your-Customer (KYC) is required for hybrid banking. In this paper, an automated deep learning-based framework for interbank KYC in robot-based cyber-physical banking is proposed. A deep biometric architecture was used to model the customer's KYC and anonymize the collected visual data to ensure the customer's privacy. The symmetric-asymmetric encryption-decryption module in addition to the blockchain network was used for secure and decentralized transmission and validation of the biometric information. A high-capacity fragile watermarking algorithm based on the integer-to-integer discrete wavelet transform in combination with the Z6 and A6 lattice vector quantization for the secure transmission and storage of in-person banking documents is also proposed. The proposed framework was simulated and validated using a Pepper humanoid robot for the automated biometric-based collection of handwritten bank checks from customers adhering to COVID-19 pandemic safety guidelines. The biometric information of bank customers such as fingerprint and name is embedded as a watermark in the related bank documents using the proposed framework. The results show that the proposed security protection framework can embed more biometric data in bank documents in comparison with similar algorithms. Furthermore, the quality of the secured bank documents is 20% higher in comparison with other proposed algorithms. Also, the hierarchal visual information communication and storage module that anonymizes the identity of people in videos collected by robots can satisfy the privacy requirements of the banks. Overall, the proposed framework can provide a rapid, efficient, and cost-effective inter-bank solution for future in-person banking while adhering to the security requirements and banking regulations.

【Abstract】All over the world, there is a lot of patient health data in different locations such as hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, and other organizations. In this sense, global identification of the patient has emerged as an everyday healthcare challenge. Governments and institutions have to prioritize satisfactory, quick, and integrated decision-making in a wide, dispersed, and global environment because of unexpected challenges like pandemics or threats. In the current scientific literature, some of the existing challenges include support for a standard global unique identification that considers privacy issues, the combination of multiple technological biometry implementations, and personal documents. Thus, we propose a decentralized software model based on blockchain and smart contracts that includes privacy, global unique person identification supporting multiple combinations of documents, and biometric data using the Global Standards 1 - GS1 healthcare industry standard. Furthermore, we defined a methodology to evaluate a hypothetical use case of this model where an integrated and standard global health data sharing personal identification is crucial. For this, we implemented the proposed model in a global-wide continent location through cloud machines, fog computing, and blockchain considering the unique patient data identification and evaluate a use case scenario based on the top 5 most globally visited tourist destinations (France, Spain, the United States of America, China, and Italy), with an approach based on this model. The results show that using a model for a global id for healthcare can help reduce costs, time, and efforts, especially in the context of health threats, where agility and financial support must be prioritized.

【Abstract】This paper presents the application of a community battery energy storage system (CBESS)-integrated microgrid (MG) in a blockchain-enabled local energy market (LEM). The proposed LEM balances the community energy requirement while facilitating frequent peer-to-peer (P2P) energy transactions between several energy users in the presence of both energy supplier and energy operator. The architecture is formulated by taking a number of local market and network constraints, that include residential battery energy storage system (RBESS) constraints; CBESS constraints; P2P traded price constraints; P2P traded power constraints; margin constraints of the stakeholders; power grid export and import constraints; and network energy balance constraints, so as to not only incentivise energy users but also reduce import/export from/to power grid while keeping the margins of energy supplier and energy operator unaffected. Different types of transactions data including energy users' P2P pricing bids and P2P traded energy volume are also stored in the blockchain database. Further, the developed LEM framework is also validated through a case study executed on an actual Australian power grid network, comprising 260 residential energy users; two energy suppliers; an energy operator; and a CBESS, and the performance of the proposed P2P trading-based LEM strategy is compared with the existing business-as-usual (BAU) that directs energy users to buy/sell energy at the time-of-use (ToU)/ feed-in-tariff (FiT) rate. The extensive and comparative simulation results confirm the superior performance of the proposed LEM mechanism in terms of minimising energy users' electricity bill; lowering power grid import and export; and retaining margins of energy suppliers and the energy operator; and thus, emphasise its application suitability in the current electricity market.

【Abstract】In the referral process of hierarchical medical services, it involves the problem of two-way medical data sharing services. In order to solve the problem of data security in this process, the article first uses an attribute proxy re-encryption scheme that supports keyword search to encrypt data, which enables both data sharing and data forwarding services, and also supports flexible access control, so that patients can flexibly control the target hospitals they want to refer to through attribute sets and initiate request services to the target hospitals, and the target hospitals that meet the patient's expectations can decrypt and view these requests and obtain the corresponding patient medical information at the time of treatment. In addition, using the decentralized feature of blockchain, we build a federation chain node in major hospitals and run smart contracts as a trusted authority center, which serves to store key information and perform cryptographic algorithms (e.g., public parameter generation, token generation, and other algorithms) and attribute verification, etc. The innovation of this paper is to create a safe and efficient data sharing model by taking hospital as node and combining searchable encryption and attribute encryption.

【Abstract】In recent years, natural disasters have been raging around the world, among which COVID-19, a public health pandemic, is still spreading all over the world. Emergency material distribution (EMD) in rescue work is facing serious challenges in the term of coordination, efficiency, traceability, identification, credibility, and security, privacy, and transparency. To address the issues, this paper develops a framework based on blockchain technology so that the operation information of EMD can be safely and promptly transmitted to the blockchain system. The scheme could achieve to query, track and record the operation status of emergency material collection, vehicle scheduling, inventory management, relief material allocation and others in real time. By using this framework, a case study on medical rescue materials distribution for COVID-19 is provided to illustrate how blockchain technology and Internet of Things (IoT) technology can be effective. The research provides insights on using the disruptive blockchain technology to effectively coordinate the deployment of emergency supplies, vehicles and personnel, and improve the transparency and credibility of rescue work to minimize the losses caused by disasters.

【Abstract】Wireless Medical Networks (WMNs) have always been a vital component for the treatment and management of chronic diseases. However, the data generated by these networks keeps growing and has become a potential target for criminals seeking to capitalise on its sensitivity and value. Wireless networks also happen to be more vulnerable to attacks compared to wired networks. In the event of such attacks, it becomes really difficult to conduct a digital Forensics investigation. This paper investigates and suggests a proactive approach of digital forensics readiness within wireless medical networks by suggesting specialised monitoring and logging mechanisms. The research first identifies threats to wireless medical networks. It then undertakes a trajectory of a systematic review of previously proposed digital forensics frameworks and identifies challenges. Finally, it proposes a conceptual framework for Digital Forensics Readiness (DFR) for wireless medical networks. The paper, therefore, makes a novel contribution to the field of digital forensics. It suggests a more streamlined, robust, and decentralised framework that is partially underpinned by blockchain technology at the evidence management layer. The framework contributes to the enforcement of evidential data integrity whilst also securing wireless medical networks.

【Abstract】The mining sector is worth trillions globally and the cornerstone of many developing nations wealth. National and corporate interests sit at the heart of negotiating fair value when pursuing profit while at the same time attempting to balance equality and sustainability of the sector. While the mining sector is of significant value to the economy, there are challenges in managing land administration. This research aims to provide a strategic template for the Zimbabwean government to apply the technological benefits of digital transformation to bring transparency and accountability for stakeholders, including the people and partners of Zimbabwe. The government would respond to implement technological advances such as Blockchain, Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The fundamental importance of land and its management lies at the core of this study as strategic research for Zimbabwe. Therefore, this research investigates how digital transformation can support mining land title management to create transparency and accountability. From a myriad of available options, this research proposes a technological solution based on Blockchain's Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) to address the lack of Transparency and Accountability in mining land title management.

【Abstract】The world is progressing further into the digital era, and as a result, more and more people are getting their initial information from online news portals and social media platforms. The dependence on sources of information that are becoming murkier raises the likelihood of being deceived and the possibility of misguided agendas. When it comes to verifying articles, traditional news outlets adhere to stringent norms of practice. In contrast, people nowadays are able to publish news items on social media and unverified sites without having to provide evidence that they are true. Because there are now no indicators on the Internet that can be used to gauge the veracity of such news pieces, an innovative strategy that makes use of technology is required in order to evaluate the realness quotient of unconfirmed news items. This paper proposes a dynamic model with a secure voting mechanism that allows news reviewers to submit news input. A probabilistic mathematical model is utilised to estimate the news item's veracity based on the feedback obtained from the news reviewers. In order to guarantee that the information being spread is accurate, the concept, which is based on blockchain technology, will be presented.

【Abstract】Identifying and extracting information from contracts is an important task of contract analysis, which is mostly performed manually by lawyers and legal specialists. This manual analysis is a time-consuming, error-prone task. We can overcome this by automating the task of legal entity extraction using the Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. For extracting information from the natural language text, we can use popular NLP methods Named Entity Recognition (NER) and relation extraction (RE). Most NER and RE methods rely on machine learning and deep learning to identify relevant entities in natural language text. The main concern in adapting the AI methods for contract element extraction is the scarcity of annotated datasets in the legal field. Aiming at tackling this challenge, we decided to prepare the contract datasets for NER and RE tasks by manually annotating publicly available English contracts. This work is a part of the research aimed at automating the conversion of natural language contracts into Smart Contracts in the blockchain-based Supply Chain context. This paper explains the implementation and comparison of NER models using the deep learning methods BiLSTM and transformer-based BERT for evaluating the dataset.
