Regulating the product quality of COVID-19 antigen testing reagents: A tripartite evolutionary game analysis under China's legal framework

【Abstract】Personal purchases of novel coronavirus antigen detection reagents (ADRs) for self-detection have contributed to the optimization of medical resources and containment of the COVID-19 pandemic. The recurring occurrence of false testing results in China has generated concerns regarding the quality of ADRs and the testing mechanism for medical devices. Academic viewpoints and remarks on the sensitivity, application possibilities, and product innovation of ADRs may be found in the extant scientific literature. However, the current research does not explore the microscopic product quality concerns that emerge throughout the production and marketing of ADRs. To explore strategic equilibrium circumstances and behavioral evolution processes, an evolutionary game model was developed to include ADR manufacturers, third-party medical device inspection agencies, and regulatory authorities. The results reveal that the quantity of illegal incentives, the cost of regulation, and the loss of government credibility have a major impact on the decisions of regulatory authorities and determine three potential systemic equilibrium states. To maximize social welfare, ADRs should be incorporated into China's medication price monitoring system in order to manage market prices. To cut regulatory expenses, the government should employ blockchain technology for traceable network regulation of ADR product quality. The government should also protect the people's right to free speech and encourage online reporting of adverse incidents caused by ADRs. The conclusions of this article can provide many developing nations with important insights for regulating the quality of ADR products.

DARVAN: A fully decentralized anonymous and reliable routing for VANets

【Abstract】With the recent advances in the automobile industry and the emergence of smart self-driving vehicles, the increasing need for proper and optimal Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANet) protocols has drawn the attention of many researchers. Nevertheless, the VANet community has yet to agree on a unified and suitable set of protocols for such networks. One of the major concerns in these networks is security considerations, which are significant because of the specific characteristics of VANet. In this article, we aim to address the location privacy and reliability issues in VANet routing protocols. We propose DARVAN, a fully decentralized infrastructure that provides anonymous and reliable routing in VANets. By employing a distributed database and collective consensus, DARVAN minimizes the exposure of critical data, which is conventionally stored and processed in centralized units. DARVAN is deployed by modifying the I2P protocol, which aims to improve routing reliability and resilience to many adversary activities in VANets. Specifically, with DARVAN, we present an effective and efficient network-level mitigation for Sybil attacks in Vanets. Our extensive simulations on NS3 show that DARVAN performs well in terms of packet delivery ratio, overhead, delay, and reliability compared to the previous anonymous scheme proposed for VANet routing.

【Abstract】With the vigorous development of mobile Internet and Blockchain, the rapid and secure interaction of high-frequency data in the era of data explosion has gradually become an urgent need for people. Quick User Datagram Protocol Internet Connection Protocol (QUIC) can be perfectly integrated into the Blockchain due to its low latency and high security, providing a safe and reliable transmission service for the Blockchain system. However, QUIC-based distributed Blockchain systems are vulnerable to cyberattacks due to asymmetric encryption and timestamp, which seriously impacts security and fairness. Therefore, based on the self-similarity of QUIC network traffic, this study proposes an anomaly detection model for QUIC network traffic based on Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition and Approximate Entropy. The model obtains several intrinsic mode functions and a residual term by decomposing the network traffic, introducing Approximate Entropy to judge the complexity of each component, and using the Hurst parameter to determine the generation of abnormal traffic. Compared with traditional detection methods, the model can effectively overcome the problems of poor adaptive ability and low efficiency and has high accuracy, which can be used for attack detection and prevention of network nodes.

【Abstract】The Internet of Things (IoT) were employed to help clients access the needed products with less effort and time. To discover the optimal path, enhanced K-Means (EK-M) clustering is utilised. By reducing the number of K from two or more to one, the conventional K-Mean has been improved. Using an IoTs platform, the optimal path should be the shortest distance. In EK-M, K is a telephone location, by using Global positioning systems sensor in a smart phone, latitude and longitude are used to detect the location of the phone, and Google Maps are used to find the locations of shops on a virtual map. The largest issue with IoT is security because of its complicated environment and the constrained resources of its devices. Blockchain is the main way that important information on IoT platforms is kept safe. In this study, the IoT framework using Blockchain with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) in a six-block mode is protected. Products data is being encrypted, then transmitted to the Internet by means of an authorised person to be obtained from anywhere. To get at the sensors' actual readings, the decryption is finally proposed. In EK-M and AES, the suggested system yields good, secure, and balanced results.

Towards the digitalization of poultry industry in Nigeria: An investigation of farmers' knowledge and practices

【Abstract】The array of digital technologies portends huge significance for up-scaling poultry enterprises for optimized efficiency and productivity. The study investigated poultry farmers' knowledge and the technicality of their practices concerning digital technologies. Members of the Poultry Farmers Association of Nigeria (PFAN) in Osun State capital, Osogbo were randomly sampled during their periodic meetings for data collection. Through the administration of well-structured questionnaires, data collected from a total of 136 farmers were employed for the study. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive and multivariate regression analyses. Many (78.7%) had poor knowledge of the use of 3D printers for machine repairs and only 12.5% had good knowledge of blockchain technology for product tracking in the supply chain. Most poultry enterprise operations were serviced manually by farmworkers while only 18.4% facilitated record-keeping with computers. Farmers' knowledge and practices in digital poultry management (R-2 = 0.61, 0.59) were significantly influenced by the enterprise characteristics like labour strength (b = 1.97, b = 1.09). In conclusion, technological and digitalization lag remains in the poultry industry and this is espoused within the confines of the predominant small-scale enterprise features. Thus, research and development (R&D) should be policy-guided to enable poultry farmers' sensitization and empowerment with locally adapted and socio-economically appropriate digital technologies. This reveals the incapacitated diffusion of the widely available digital technologies to infiltrate grassroots poultry systems.

Bibliometric analysis of Journal of Money Laundering Control: emerging trends and a way forward

【Abstract】PurposeThe purpose of this study is to provide a bibliometric analysis of the Journal of Money Laundering and Control (JMLC) from 2010 to 2021 and map its way forward. Design/methodology/approachA range of bibliometric techniques have been used to analyse the performance of JMLC from Volume 14 (Issue 1) to Volume 24 (Issue 4). The Scopus database has been used to analyse the documents of JMLC. A total of 294 documents are reviewed. The bibliographic data has been analysed using the software VOS viewer and R-studio (Biblioshine) to assess the trend of publications, word growth, keyword co-occurrence, citation analysis, most prolific authors and authors' impact. FindingsJMLC's academic contributions, influence and impact have grown progressively. The thematic structure of the journal has evolved into six bibliographic clusters, noted as prevention of corruption due to money laundering; compliance and regulation of money laundering; customer due diligence; role of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in the financial system of developing countries; control of terrorism and terrorist financing; and role of money laundering in the proceeds of crime. Research limitations/implicationsThe constraint of this endeavour largely arises from its selection of bibliographic data being confined to Scopus. Practical implicationsThe results of the study would help the current and future authors to understand the emerging themes in the field of money laundering and control. They are also going to help the editors of the journals of this domain to understand the emerging themes and how the published documents are going to contribute the society, throwing light on the controlling and compliance part of money laundering. Future research directions are provided in tackling the problem of money laundering, corruption, terrorism, crime, etc. with the help of financial intelligence, strong FATF all around the world, machine learning, Bitcoin exchange management and global knowledge management. Originality/valueTo the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first objective assessment of the journal. Thus, the results of the study are useful to past and prospective authors, editorial board members, editors, readers and reviewers to gain a one-stop understanding of anti-money laundering actions through the contributions of JMLC.
