【Abstract】Blockchain technology is having an increasingly profound impact on the business landscape. Blockchain-a means for storing information and transactions in secure, decentralized manner-has many potential applications for marketing. However, marketing research and practice are still tentative about the use of blockchain and are yet to fully understand it and embrace it. The goal of this editorial is to advance in this direction and offer a path toward incorporating blockchain technology into our scholarly marketing thinking. We review the basic terminology and principles of the blockchain process, pro-vide a comprehensive overview of the potential impact of blockchain on several core marketing areas and propose research questions that can help advance both research and practice as this technology develops. This editorial is accompanied by five research notes written by leading marketing scholars, which explore applications of blockchain to the following marketing topics: Advertising (Joo et al., 2022), Branding (Colicev, 2022), Creative Industries (Malik et al., 2022), Pricing (Zhang, 2022), and Privacy (Marthews & Tucker, 2022). Blockchain-Based Long-Term Capacity Planning for Semiconductor Supply Chain Manufacturers

【Abstract】The long-term production capacity planning of semiconductor supply chain manufacturers has a series of characteristics, such as large capital investment, fast technology upgrading, long lead-time of manufacturing equipment, and unstable market environment, which leads to the uncertainty of demand. In addition, blockchain technology is widely used to build consortium chains for information sharing across upstream and downstream enterprises, thus having the potential ability to help finance semiconductor manufacturers. This paper combines two uncertainty-oriented methods (stochastic programming and robust optimization) to examine the conversion of capacity between different product types and construct a two-stage mathematical planning model maximizing the net profit of manufacturers. Through the introduction of blockchain technology and information sharing among enterprises, we improve the effectiveness of our model to realize the optimal allocation of long-term capacity planning. Finally, we reformulate the model into a tractable MINLP, construct numerical examples to verify the solvability, and carry out sensitivity analysis.

The Three-Level Supply Chain Finance Collaboration under Blockchain: Income Sharing with Shapley Value Cooperative Game

【Abstract】With the gradual and widespread application of blockchain technology in the supply chain, its characteristics can help solve the financing problem of MSMEs. To this end, this paper constructs a cooperative game model for suppliers, manufacturers and retailers in the case of a cross-level guarantee of order-to-factoring, studies the pricing strategy of supply chain finance members based on blockchain technology by adopting the Stackelberg primary-secondary game method, and makes a reasonable allocation of total supply chain revenue with the help of the Shapley value of the cooperative game. The study found that the adoption of blockchain can be effective in increasing the benefits to supply chain members and systems. The adoption of blockchain increases the blockchain costs but decreases the financing costs for the supplier. The Shapley value of the cooperative game is used to distribute the benefits, allowing for Pareto improvements in the benefits to supply chain members. In the next step, we will focus on examining the impact of risk assessment and the degree of information disclosure on supply chain finance with blockchain technology.

A Quantitative and Qualitative Review of Blockchain Research from 2015 to 2021

【Abstract】Blockchain has the potential to reconfigure the contemporary economic, legal, political and cultural landscape, causing a flood of research on this topic. However, limited efforts have been made to conduct retrospective research to appraise the blockchain studies in the recent period, easily leading to a neglect of new technological trends. Consequently, the present research designs a quantitative- and qualitative-analysis procedure to review the latest research status. Adopting a four-step workflow, six research hotspots (i.e., the specific application areas of blockchain technology, the integration of blockchain and other technologies, the driving factors of blockchain, the values of blockchain technology, the types of blockchain and the core technologies of blockchain) and five research frontiers (i.e., entrepreneurship, contract, industrial internet, data management and distributed ledger technology) were detected using quantitative analysis. Furthermore, three other topics (i.e., the Internet of things, access control and trust) and two research gaps (i.e., the true effect of blockchain technology on firms' operational efficiency and the regulation of the "dark sides" of blockchain technology) were also identified, using qualitative analysis. Finally, the evolutionary paths were qualitatively analyzed, and then three phases of blockchain research were summarized. The conclusions are able to provide a more comprehensive enlightenment regarding blockchain's research hotspots, research frontiers, evolutionary paths and research gaps in the recent period, from 2015 to 2021, and to provide a reference for future research.

Flexico: An efficient dual-mode consensus protocol for blockchain networks

【Abstract】Blockchain is a Byzantine fault tolerant (BFT) system wherein decentralized nodes execute consensus protocols to drive the agreement process on new blocks added to a distributed ledger. Generally, two-round communications among 3 f + 1 nodes are required to tolerate up to f faults in BFT-based consensus networks. This communication pattern corresponds to the worse-case scenario of consensus achievement, even under asynchronous network conditions. Nevertheless, it is not uncommon for a network to operate under better conditions, where a consensus can be reached with a lower communication cost. Hence, with the addition of a faster optimistic path toward an agreement, the idea of dual-mode consensus has been proposed as a promising approach to enhance the performance of asynchronous BFT protocols. However, this opportunity is not completely exploited by existing dual-mode protocols as the fast path can be followed only in a nonfaulty and synchronous network. This article presents a novel dual-mode protocol consisting of fast and backup subprotocols. To create different consensus committees for fast and backup-mode operations, the network contains both active and passive nodes. A consensus can be expedited through a fast-mode operation when majority of the active nodes can communicate synchronously. Under non-ideal conditions, the backup protocol takes over the agreement process from its fast-mode counterpart without starting over the suspended round. The safety and liveness of the proposed protocol are guaranteed with lower communication costs, which balance the trade-off between protocol efficiency and availability.

Examining public views on decentralised health data sharing

【Abstract】In recent years, researchers have begun to explore the use of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT), also known as blockchain, in health data sharing contexts. However, there is a significant lack of research that examines public attitudes towards the use of this technology. In this paper, we begin to address this issue and present results from a series of focus groups which explored public views and concerns about engaging with new models of personal health data sharing in the UK. We found that participants were broadly in favour of a shift towards new decentralised models of data sharing. Retaining 'proof' of health information stored about patients and the capacity to provide permanent audit trails, enabled by immutable and transparent properties of DLT, were regarded as particularly valuable for our participants and prospective data custodians. Participants also identified other potential benefits such as supporting people to become more health data literate and enabling patients to make informed decisions about how their data was shared and with whom. However, participants also voiced concerns about the potential to further exacerbate existing health and digital inequalities. Participants were also apprehensive about the removal of intermediaries in the design of personal health informatics systems.

【Abstract】Blockchain is rapidly becoming established as the core technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. By combining blockchain to improve processes in existing industries, innovative new services will emerge, but services not effectively applied by blockchain will also develop. This study investigated the factors to be considered when applying the characteristics of blockchain technology to business. We developed a framework of blockchain service utility evaluation indexes using the analytic hierarchy process method. The Delphi method is used to identify highly effective blockchain application service cases by applying the evaluation framework to actual use cases in the public sector. By proposing a framework of utility evaluation factors for blockchain application services, this study provides a systematic foundation for blockchain business review. We address the question of "why blockchain should be applied to this service" by providing a more comprehensive approach than existing research, such as a fragmentary decision tree. Blockchains are expected to become more active along with the full-scale digital transformation of industries, and thus, we must examine the ways to broadly use blockchain as a base technology in a form applicable to the diverse industries and societies constituting the digital economy. Accordingly, this study presents an evaluation solution for promoting efficient policies and developing successful blockchain application services.

【Abstract】With the application and popularization of the Internet of Things (IoT), while the IoT devices bring us intelligence and convenience, the privacy protection issue has gradually attracted people's attention. Access control technology is one of the important methods to protect privacy. However, the existing IoT access control technologies have extensive problems such as coarse-grainedness, weak auditability, lack of access process control, and excessive privileges, which make the security and privacy of our IoT devices face great threats. Based on this, a blockchain-based and encrypted currency-based access control model CcBAC supported by Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology is proposed, which can provide fine-graininess, strong auditability, and access procedure control for the Internet of Things. In this study, the technical principle, characteristics, and research status of the control model are introduced, and the framework of the CcBAC model is expounded in detail and formally defined. Moreover, the functions in the model are described in detail, and a specific access control process in general scenarios is presented for the model. Finally, the practicability of this model is verified through theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation, which proves that this model not only enables resource owners to fully control the access to their resources, but also takes into account the fine-graininess and auditable access control.

Consensus-Based Distributed Optimal Dispatch of Integrated Energy Microgrid

【Abstract】In recent years, the energy form of microgrids is constantly enriching, while the decentralization requirements of microgrids are constantly developing. Considering the economic benefits of an integrated energy microgrid (IEM), this paper focuses on the distributed optimal dispatch of IEM based on a consensus algorithm. The microgrid structure and multi-agent system are combined organically to get the decentralized architecture of IEM. This paper takes the incremental cost rate of each unit in IEM as a consensus variable. Based on the consensus theory, iterative optimization is carried out to achieve the optimal economic operation and power supply-demand balance of IEM. The distributed optimal dispatch is realized, and the convergence of the algorithm is proved. The experiment is carried out with LabVIEW and MATLAB and verifies the effectiveness of the algorithm. The results show that the distributed optimal dispatch algorithm can effectively reduce the power generation cost of the integrated energy system.

PoQ-Consensus Based Private Electricity Consumption Forecasting via Federated Learning

【Abstract】With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and computer technology, grid corporations have also begun to move towards comprehensive intelligence and informatization. However, data-based informatization can bring about the risk of privacy exposure of fine-grained information such as electricity consumption data. The modeling of electricity consumption data can help grid corporations to have a more thorough understanding of users' needs and their habits, providing better services for users. Nevertheless, users' electricity consumption data is sensitive and private. In order to achieve highly efficient analysis of massive private electricity consumption data without direct access, a blockchain-based federated learning method is proposed for users' electricity consumption forecasting in this paper. Specifically, a blockchain system is established based on a proof of quality (PoQ) consensus mechanism, and a multilayer hybrid directional long short-term memory (MHD-LSTM) network model is trained for users' electricity consumption forecasting via the federal learning method. In this way, the model of the MHD-LSTM network is able to avoid suffering from severe security problems and can only share the network parameters without exchanging raw electricity consumption data, which is decentralized, secure and reliable. The experimental result shows that the proposed method has both effectiveness and high-accuracy under the premise of electricity consumption data's privacy preservation, and can achieve better performance when compared to traditional long short-term memory (LSTM) and bidirectional LSTM (BLSTM).

Blockchain-inspired lightweight trust-based system in vehicular networks

【Abstract】A decentralized application runs on the blockchain network without the intervention of a central authority. Transparency in transactions and security in vehicular networks are the issues for central systems. The proposed system uses blockchain-based smart contracts, which eliminate the requirement for any third-party verification. Additionally, with signature verification and reduced overhead, smart contracts also help in a fast and secure transaction. This study suggests a trust-based system paradigm where certificate authority (CA) is employed for vehicle registration. We also propose a blockchain-based system that provides efficient two-way authentication and key agreement through encryption and digital signatures. The analysis of the proposed model reveals that it is an efficient way of establishing distributed trust management, which helps in preserving vehicle privacy. The proposed scheme is tested in Automated Validation of Internet Security-sensitive Protocols (AVISPA), and security parameters verification in Network Simulator 2(NS2) also shows that the proposed scheme is more effective in comparison with existing schemes in terms of authentication cost, storage cost, and overhead.

Blockchain Adoption and Financial Distress: Mediating Role of Information Asymmetry

【Abstract】Blockchain is an emerging decentralized ledger technology and distributed computing paradigm which has recently attracted strong attention. However, the lack of empirical evidence on the benefits of this technology has confounded information technology managers about investing in it. This study addresses this issue by investigating the relationship between blockchain technology and firms' financial distress with particular emphasis on the mediating role of information asymmetry.This research is based on a sample of 297 European companies listed in the STOXX Europe 600 during 2014-2018. Our feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) results show that blockchain technology's adoption significantly reduces the financial distress of the firm. In addition, the link between blockchain technology and firms' financial distress is mediated by information asymmetry. Blockchain technology can facilitate information transformation and improve banks' information acquisition ability. Besides, the employment of smart contracts and collaborative mechanism can reduce information risk and achieve lower financial distress.The research contributes to the literature by confirming the role of blockchain technology in reducing financial distress. The study opines that the firm's access to finance can be improved through the adoption of this technology and achieve greater transparency and lower costs.

BIMcontracts - secure digital transactions in the construction industry

【Abstract】BIMcontracts focuses on an innovative solution to automate payment and contract management in the construction industry. The aim is to make the contractual processing of construction works faster, more transparent and more trustworthy in the future. This goal can be achieved by combining blockchain-based smart contracts with digital building models, thereby -establishing secure automated contract structures and billing processes. The digital building model with the linked bill of quantities serves as the basis for the contract. To automate payment transactions, a billing plan is agreed-upon on this basis, in which the billing units and the assigned payments are defined. The digital contract component includes, in particular, billing arrangements that can be expressed as if-then relationships in a smart contract and processed further in an automated manner.

【Abstract】In this study, we investigated the statistical and multifractal properties of time series data of sub-minute price fluctuations of cryptocurrencies. We found that the probability density function of price fluctuations with the log difference in prices as a variable has found to have a fat-tailed structure. By assuming that multi-fractality is established for the time series data of price fluctuations, we performed a multifractal analysis and obtained the multifractal spectral function.

【摘要】作为一种分布式结构、可追溯、不可篡改的革命性技术系统,区块链基于效率、安全和共享优势,能降低碳市场的交易成本、强化碳市场的稳定秩序、促进碳市场的协同合作。然而,基于创新技术的两面性,区块链应用于碳交易也可能带来一些挑战和问题,包括利益输送、洗钱等行为更容易实施,错误数据上链的负面影响被强化,智能合约的实际运行与预设规则相偏离,数据标准缺失影响数据共享和应用的效果,以及责任归属的认定更加复杂等。为应对这些挑战,需转变监管思路、创新监管手段、调整监管重心,在此基础上引入监管沙盒机制,对区块链技术应用于碳交易的适用性进行实验和测试,并厘清区块链研发、运维等环节主体的责任配置问题,为区块链碳交易的落地和发展扫清障碍,促进碳交易市场的繁荣。

【摘要】区块链借助分布式存储、共识算法、智能合约技术优势,可为企业碳财务注入新活力,赋能企业低碳发展。故此,文章在厘清基于区块链技术构建企业碳财务系统的现实需求、理念基础上,构筑覆盖数据上云子系统、成本管理子系统、风险预测子系统、共识交易子系统在内的企业智慧碳财务系统,继而以火力发电企业结构减排业务为例,演示企业智慧碳财务系统运行流程,证明企业智慧碳财务系统具有实践可行性,能够为企业碳财务管理提质增效予以理论支撑。

【摘要】中小企业融资难、融资贵的问题在新冠肺炎疫情环境中愈发明显。供应链中的票据具有货币政策传导、支付结算、融资等功能,虽然能够解决应收账款容易引发的“三角债”等问题,但是仍存在核心企业确权难、银行向中小企业提供融资意愿低、对票据监管不全面等痛点。政府的货币政策能通过票据再贴现和贴现精确抵达中小微企业的融资痛点,将政府作为第三方引入供应链金融分析框架,为票据精准滴灌中小微企业提供新的研究视角,同时利用区块链去中心化、分布式账本、智能合约等技术特点赋能票据产生到消亡的全过程,构建政银企三方信息流通的理论框架,并为进一步推广区块链技术在供应链票据融资的应用提出相关政策建议。

基于双层链的个人隐私数据保护和授权框架

【摘要】针对隐私泄露事件频繁发生且当前的保护方法无法避免恶意收集和恶意攻击的问题,提出了基于双层链的个人隐私数据保护和授权框架。该框架由验证链和授权链构成,通过跨链技术进行通信,不需要用户向服务商提供隐私数据就能获得服务。验证层负责验证数据并生成数据证明,授权层负责用户的授权,避免服务商得到用户隐私数据。此外,提出了基于顺序选举的RAFT改进算法和代理受益证明算法,分别应用在验证层和授权层,从而提高了共识速度和数据处理速度,解决了在没有激励机制的情况下如何维护公有链的问题。实验结果表明,所提框架保证了数据的真实性、安全性和可扩展性,平衡了隐私性和可追溯性。

【摘要】区块链技术因具有防篡改、可追溯、集体维护等特性,可保障电子文件传输及存储等过程中真实可信,为电子档案单套制政策落地提供强有力的技术支撑。联盟链是弱中心化的区块链,具有隐私性及高效性,在企业电子档案单套制管理中具有很强的适用性。该文以中国移动浙江公司为例,对联盟链技术用于电子档案单套制管理的理论与实践展开讨论,以期提供一定的借鉴意义。
