【Abstract】Smart living represents the hardware-software co-habiting with humans for better living standards and improved well being. Here, hardware monitors human activities (by collecting data) specific to a context. Such data can be processed to offer valuable context-specific insights. Such insights can be used for optimizing the well being, living experience, and energy cost of smart homes. This article proposes the Secure Embedded Living Framework (SELF), which enforces a privacy-preserving data control mechanism by integrating multiple technologies, such as the Internet of Things, cloud/fog platform, machine learning, and blockchain. The primary aim of SELF is to allow the user to retain more control of its data.

【Abstract】Network function virtualization is a key enabling technology in future wireless networks for flexible and efficient sharing of network resources. Due to the increasing heterogeneity of network resource providers, a blockchain-based distributed architecture is a promising solution to enable reliable and transparent virtualized network function (VNF) management. However, since on-chain storage and computation are costive, it becomes a challenging task to achieve efficient VNF management with blockchain. In this paper, we first introduce a consortium blockchain for collaborative VNF management among network resource providers. Then, we propose an authenticated VNF dictionary that can be stored as a succinct authenticator on blockchain to support rich VNF query functionalities and efficient verifications of query results. Moreover, we design a dictionary pruning strategy to securely generate a compact authenticator for a given query, which reduces unnecessary memory accesses of the original dictionary when VNF queries are represented as arithmetic circuits. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments with a consortium blockchain network. The experimental results demonstrate that our pruning strategy is efficient for both on-chain and off-chain VNF management.

【Abstract】Currently, the Mexican avocado supply chain has some social limitations that make the traceability process a difficult task and severely limits the regions that can add their harvest to the international market. We hypothesize that modernizing the traceability process and improving the trust of the final user could help in opening the market to other regions. This paper describes the Mexican avocado supply chain characteristics, identifies the actors involved in the supply chain, and emphasizes the problems that the current actors have when exporting them to the US market. On this basis, we propose a technological solution system to automate the traceability process. The system was designed to comply with the authority and consumer requirements. It proposes a combination of the benefits of traditional data traceability using Microservices architecture with a new layer of Blockchain auditing that will add value to current and new actors in every step of the supply chain. We contribute by proposing a model that adds value to the avocado supply chain with the following characteristics: Integrity, auditing service, dual traceability, transparency, and a front-end application with trust user-oriented. Our proofs demonstrate that the blockchain layer does not represent a considered high extra transaction cost; it could be regarded as despicable for the economy of the consumer considering costs and benefits.

【Abstract】As the world is gradually moving towards digitization, forgery of vital digital documents has become relatively easy. Therefore, the need for efficient and secure verification and authentication practices of digital documents is also increasing. Self-sovereign identity (SSI) is a set of technologies that build on core concepts in identity management, blockchain technology, and cryptography. SSI enables entities to create fraud-proof verifiable credentials and instantly verify the authenticity of a digital credential. The online document verification solutions must deal with a myriad of issues in regard to privacy and security. Moreover, various challenging and tedious processes have made document verification overly complex and time-consuming which motivated us to conduct this research. This work presents a novel framework for online document verification based on SSI technology. The solution address the complexity and interoperability issues that are present in the current digital document verification systems. We look at a particular use case, i.e., document verification in online loan processing and evaluate how this proposed approach can make an impact on the existing system. Our solution based on SSI standards replaces the intermediary and enables trust between players in the ecosystem. The technology also holds the potential to make the system more efficient, interoperable, and privacy-preserving.

【Abstract】People with type 1 diabetes require insulin, a lifesaving and essential medication, to maintain their blood sugar levels below dangerous levels. Unfortunately, the insulin industry faces supply and affordability issues, and patients and their families face an enormous burden. As a result of high prices and lack of availability, individuals are turning to other options for purchasing insulin, such as online pharmacies, which may or may not be legitimate. Despite the necessity of safe insulin for diabetics in the legitimate Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (PSC), few researchers have considered implementing strategies to maximize patient safety for purchasing insulin. Therefore, the current research seeks to bridge this gap and provide cohesive information on overcoming this challenge and maximizing insulin safety. This study employs a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) model that combines Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) metrics, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to develop a model that can prioritize and select the best criteria for maximizing insulin safety and achieving the study objective. A comparison of two insulin supply chain scenarios was performed. As a result of this research, adding a traceability technology to the insulin supply chain, specifically blockchain (T42) in scenario 2 provides the best results to the supply chain for maximizing and ensuring the safety of insulin, as compared to scenario 1, where the final score achieved almost 71%. This research provides a useful tool for assessing the safety of other critical goods that customers value in strategic and complex decision-making. Academics, professionals, and decision-makers can benefit from this research using a rigorous scientific decision-support system.

【Abstract】The performance of a computer vision system depends on the accuracy of visual information extracted by the sensors and the system's visual-processing capabilities. To derive optimum information from the sensed data, the system must be capable of identifying objects of interest (OOIs) and activities in the scene. Active vision systems intend to capture OOIs with the highest possible resolution to extract the optimum visual information by calibrating the configuration spaces of the cameras. As the data processing and reconfiguration of cameras are interdependent, it becomes very challenging for advanced active vision systems to perform in real time. Due to limited computational resources, model-based asymmetric active vision systems only work in known conditions and fail miserably in unforeseen conditions. Symmetric/asymmetric systems employing artificial intelligence, while they manage to tackle unforeseen environments, require iterative training and thus are not reliable for real-time applications. Thus, the contemporary symmetric/asymmetric reconfiguration systems proposed to obtain optimum configuration spaces of sensors for accurate activity tracking and scene understanding may not be adequate to tackle unforeseen conditions in real time. To address this problem, this article presents an adaptive self-reconfiguration (ASR) framework for active vision systems operating co-operatively in a distributed blockchain network. The ASR framework enables active vision systems to share their derived learning about an activity or an unforeseen environment, which learning can be utilized by other active vision systems in the network, thus lowering the time needed for learning and adaptation to new conditions. Further, as the learning duration is reduced, the duration of the reconfiguration of the cameras is also reduced, yielding better performance in terms of understanding of a scene. The ASR framework enables resource and data sharing in a distributed network of active vision systems and outperforms state-of-the-art active vision systems in terms of accuracy and latency, making it ideal for real-time applications.

【Abstract】With the advancement of new technology, security is the biggest issue nowadays. To solve security problems, blockchain technology will be used. In recent work, most of the work has been done on homogeneous systems, but in our research, the primary focus is on the security of wireless sensor networks using blockchain. Over the last few decades, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been the most advancing technology due to the number of intelligent devices and associated technologies that have rapidly grown in every field of the world, such as smart cities, education, agriculture, banking, healthcare, etc. Many of the applications are developing by using IoT technologies for real-time monitoring. Because of storage capacity or low processing power, smart devices or gadgets are vulnerable to attack as existing cryptography techniques or security are insufficient. In this research work, firstly, we review and identify the privacy and security issues in the IoT system. Secondly, there is a solution for the security issues, which is resolved by blockchain technology. We will check the wireless sensor network to see how data work on distributed or decentralized network architecture. Wireless sensor network clustering technique was introduced by researchers for network efficiency because when the workload spreads, the system will work faster and more efficiently. A cluster comprises a number of nodes, and the cluster head manages the local interactions between the nodes in the cluster (CH). In general, cluster members connect with the cluster head, and the cluster head aggregates and fuses the data acquired in order to save energy. Before approaching the sink, the cluster heads may additionally create another layer of clusters among themselves. The clustering concept divides data traffic into several groups similar to the other data points in the same data point. In contrast, this data point is dissimilar from other data points in another group. All results are presented at the end of this study paper, in which we will see the network or nodes' performance in the specific area of the network, how it works, and how efficient it is. Likewise, Blockchain also works in a distributed manner.

【Abstract】Cryptocurrency markets have attracted many interest for global investors because of their novelty, wide on-line availability, increasing capitalization, and potential profits. In the econophysics tradition, we show that many of the most available cryptocurrencies have return statistics that do not follow Gaussian distributions, instead following heavy-tailed distributions. Entropy measures are applied, showing that portfolio diversification is a reasonable practice for decreasing return uncertainty.

【Abstract】Design of distributed energy management systems composed of several agents such as factories and buildings is important for realizing smart cities. In addition, demand response for saving the power consumption is also important. In this paper, we propose a design method of distributed energy management systems with real-time demand response, in which both electrical energy and thermal energy are considered. Here, we use ADMM (Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers), which is well known as one of the powerful methods in distributed optimization. In the proposed method, demand response is performed in real-time, based on the difference between the planned demand and the actual value. Furthermore, utilizing a blockchain is also discussed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is presented by a numerical example. The importance of introducing a blockchain is pointed out by presenting the adverse effect of tampering the actual value.

【Abstract】When analyzing a financial asset, it is essential to study the trend of its time series. It is also necessary to examine its evolution and activity over time to statistically analyze its possible future behavior. Both retail and institutional investors base their trading strategies on these analyses. One of the most used techniques to study financial time series is to analyze its dynamic structure using auto-regressive models, simple moving average models (SMA), and mixed auto-regressive moving average models (ARMA). These techniques, unfortunately, do not always provide appreciable results both at a statistical level and as the Risk-Reward Ratio (RRR); above all, each system has its pros and cons. In this paper, we present CryptoNet; this system is based on the time series extraction exploiting the vast potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Specifically, we focused on time series trends extraction by developing an artificial neural network, trained and tested on two famous crypto-currencies: Bitcoinand Ether. CryptoNet learning algorithm improved the classic linear regression model up to 31% of MAE (mean absolute error). Results from this work should encourage machine learning techniques in sectors classically reluctant to adopt non-standard approaches.

【摘要】为了缓解区块链中不断膨胀的状态数据给节点带来的存储压力,针对以比特币为代表的UTXO模型区块链,提出基于双RSA累加器的无状态交易验证方案.该方案利用固定大小的密码学承诺取代状态数据,在保证节点能够独立验证交易的基础上,大幅降低本地存储.基于RSA累加器的特性,利用2次高效的添加操作替换了复杂的删除操作,以较少的通信开销为代价,大幅降低系统的计算开销,保证交易验证的效率.实验结果表明,该方案相比于传统的区块链拥有较高的节点存储压缩率,相比于其他无状态方案拥有固定的额外通信开销及较高的交易验证效率.

【摘要】为确保量子密钥从生成、分发、存储、使用、更新到销毁的安全性更高,提出一种基于区块链的量子密钥全生命周期管理方案。首先有保密通信需求的两方机构通过量子密钥分发设备产生真随机对称量子协商密钥,并将其分别存储在两方机构的量子设备管理员处;然后两方量子设备管理员协商量子密钥编号规则生成量子密钥文件;最后两方机构用户分别向各自量子设备管理员申请量子密钥用于通信。在通信过程中,与量子密钥生成、分发、使用、更新、销毁的相关日志信息上传到区块链,由量子设备管理员、通信用户协同区块链管理员完成量子密钥全生命周期的管理与追溯。理论分析表明:该方案能解决量子密钥在通信系统中无法有效追溯和管理的问题,可以实现对量子密钥全生命周期管理和追溯过程的透明可信。

【摘要】信息化技术带来的工业革命使人类文明迎来了新一轮的飞跃。区块链产业尚方兴未艾,“元宇宙”概念已悄然而至。随着国内外各互联网领头企业的争相入局,“元宇宙”不仅为互联网时代的科技发展带来了新的机遇,更为人类文明的进步开辟了新的方向。鉴于此,“元宇宙”成为了我国法学界关注的焦点。但目前研究成果中,存在研究视角片面与研究方法陈旧的问题,与“元宇宙”本身的未来话语体系无法对接。这就需要首先从历史深层全景与当前历史殊相的视角出发,把握“元宇宙”与法的整体关系,尤其与法治的整体关系。那么,当前应从“元宇宙”的法治基础、法治挑战与法治模式三个层面出发,从整体上把握“元宇宙”时代的未来法治场景。
