Blockchain-Empowered Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks: Opportunities, Challenges, and Solutions

【Abstract】The terrestrial networks face the challenges of severe cost inefficiency and low feasibility to provide seamless services anytime and anywhere, especially in the extreme or hotspot areas (e.g., disaster areas, mountains, and oceans) due to limited service coverage and capacity. The integration of multi-dimensional networks consisting of space, air, and ground layers is expected to provide solutions in delivering cost-effective and ubiquitous Internet of things (IoT) services for billions of users and interconnected smart devices. Autonomous data collection, exchange, and processing across different network segments with minimal human interventions in space-air-ground IoT (SAG-IoT) can bring great convenience to consumers, however, it also suffers new attacks from intruders. Severe privacy invasion, reliability issues, and security breaches of SAG-IoT can hinder its wide deployment. The emerging blockchain holds great potentials to address the security concerns in SAG-IoT, thanks to its prominent features of decentralization, transparency, immutability, traceability, and auditability. Despite of the benefits of blockchain-empowered SAG-IoT, there exist a series of fundamental challenges in terms of efficiency and regulation due to the intrinsic characteristics of SAG-IoT (e.g., heterogeneity, time-variability, and poor interoperability) and the limitations of existing blockchain approaches (e.g., capacity and scalability). This article presents a comprehensive survey of the integration of blockchain technologies for securing SAG-IoT applications. Specifically, we first discuss the architecture, characteristics, and security threats of SAG-IoT systems. Then, we concentrate on the promising blockchain-based solutions for SAG-IoT security. Next, we discuss the critical challenges when integrating blockchain in SAG-IoT security services and review the state-of-the-art solutions. We further investigate the opportunities of blockchain in artificial intelligence and beyond 5G networks and provide open research directions for building future blockchain-empowered SAG-IoT systems.

【Abstract】With rapid development of enabling technologies such as Internet of Things, robotics, and big data, the fourth industrial revolution known as "Industry 4.0" (I4.0) has become a great opportunity for productivity innovation around the world. Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), as a typical implication of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) in I4.0 era, has attracted significant attention. It aims at optimizing resources and improving production efficiency for manufacturing industry through deep interconnection of physical equipment, wide collection of multi-dimensional data, intelligent awareness of environment and automatic control. Blockchain is a kind of distributed ledger technology and has features including decentralization, anti-tamper, transparency, anonymity, and contract-autonomy. These features are helpful to improve the services and promote the development of IIoT. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive survey on the literatures applying blockchain technology into IIoT. We firstly introduce the related works and background knowledge. And then, the motivations and benefits for applying blockchain into IIoT are discussed in detail. Furthermore, based on the layered architecture of blockchain we summarized in the previous work, we outline the research framework of blockchain in IIoT. Meanwhile, the related application research is presented from the perspectives of devices security, data collection and sharing, and industrial application. Moreover, we explore the technical requirements of blockchain platforms in IIoT applications. Finally, some challenges and future directions on blockchain in IIoT, as well as broader perspectives, are concluded for further study.

1-Round Distributed Key Generation With Efficient Reconstruction Using Decentralized CP-ABE

【Abstract】Distributed key generation (DKG) is widely used in multi-party computation and decentralized applications. DKG has two phases, namely sharing and reconstruction. Most of the prior DKG protocols need at least 2 rounds for the sharing phase, in case some party raises a dispute. The existing 1-round DKG protocol [Fouque et at., PKC'01], built based on a publicly verifiable secret sharing (PVSS) scheme, assumes a static adversary model and its reconstruction phase requires O(n(2)) communication complexity. Motivated by the observation that a ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) scheme hides secret sharing (SS) in ciphertext, we utilize decentralized CP-ABE to achieve the first adaptively secure 1-round DKG protocol. Firstly, a CP-ABE scheme enables the ciphertexts in DKG to be externally decrypted, making our protocol superior to the PVSS-based DKG protocol in reconstruction. The communication and computation complexities are both lowered to O(n) thanks to the constant-sized decryption key and the proposed batch decryption. The use of CP-ABE also makes our DKG protocol storage-friendly, i.e., the parties store no ciphertext after the sharing phase. Secondly, we add non-interactive zero-knowledge (NIZK) proofs to make the CP-ABE ciphertext publicly verifiable by leveraging the sigma protocol and the Fiat-Shamir heuristic. Thirdly, we demonstrate our protocol's feasibility by presenting a proof-of-concept implementation over Ethereum, which is used as a public channel and a trustworthy computation platform. The implementation is a non-trivial task due to Ethereum's incompatibility with the bilinear mapping group.

Design of a Blockchain-Enabled Traceability System Framework for Food Supply Chains

【Abstract】Tracing food products along the entire supply chain is important for achieving better management of food products. Traditionally, centralized traceability systems have been developed for such purposes. One major drawback of this approach is that different users of the supply chain have their own systems with their own complexities and distinct features; thus, the interaction among them creates challenges when implementing a single centralized system. Therefore, a decentralized traceability system is favorable for tracing food products along the supply chain. In this study, we develop a supply chain traceability system framework based on blockchain and radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. The system consists of a decentralized blockchain-enabled data storage platform for data management and an RFID system at the packaging level for data collection and storage. We applied a consortium blockchain to the application. Fabric 2.0 in Hyperledger was chosen as the development platform. The proposed blockchain-enabled platform can provide decentralized data management and its underlying algorithm can guarantee data security. The system includes a creatively designed blockchain-enabled data structure in the RFID tag. When people scan the tag, the relevant information is written in the tag as a block linked to the previous blocks; simultaneously, the information is transmitted to the blockchain platform and recorded on the platform. No battery is required and the system works when there is an RFID reader nearby. The usage conditions included shipment, stocking, and storage. The RFID tag can be directly attached to paper packaging. This approach embeds the blockchain technique into the RFID tag and develops a corresponding system. The new traceability system has the potential to simplify the tracking of products and can be scaled for industrial use.

A Blockchain-Based Federated Learning Method for Smart Healthcare

【Abstract】The development of artificial intelligence and worldwide epidemic events has promoted the implementation of smart healthcare while bringing issues of data privacy, malicious attack, and service quality. The Medical Internet of Things (MIoT), along with the technologies of federated learning and blockchain, has become a feasible solution for these issues. In this paper, we present a blockchain-based federated learning method for smart healthcare in which the edge nodes maintain the blockchain to resist a single point of failure and MIoT devices implement the federated learning to make full of the distributed clinical data. In particular, we design an adaptive differential privacy algorithm to protect data privacy and gradient verification-based consensus protocol to detect poisoning attacks. We compare our method with two similar methods on a real-world diabetes dataset. Promising experimental results show that our method can achieve high model accuracy in acceptable running time while also showing good performance in reducing the privacy budget consumption and resisting poisoning attacks.

A Cloud Microservices Architecture for Data Integrity Verifiability Based on Blockchain

【Abstract】The current digital age, mainly characterized by an economy based upon information technology, demands a data integrity service, even more so because organizations and companies are migrating their services over the cloud. This is not a simple task; it is cumbersome since traditional schemes in databases could be subject to modifications. However, it can be solved using blockchain technology. This paper provides a data integrity verifiability architecture for cloud systems based on blockchain. The architecture provides a mechanism to store events (as logs) within a blockchain platform from any cloud system. Users can then consult data integrity through a microservice, acting as an intermediate server that carries out a set of verification steps within the blockchain, which confirms the integrity of a previously stored log. Our architecture takes advantage of the blockchain strength concerning integrity, providing a traceability track of the stored logs. A prototype system and a case study were implemented based on the proposed architecture. Our experimental results show that the proposed decentralized architecture can be adapted to cloud existing systems that were born without blockchain technology and require a modular and scalable audit characteristic.

Virtual Reality Metaverse System Supplementing Remote Education Methods: Based on Aircraft Maintenance Simulation

【Abstract】Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a shift from in-person to remote education, with most students taking classes via video meetings. This change inhibits active class participation from students. In particular, video education has limitations in replacing practical classes, which require both theoretical and empirical knowledge. In this study, we propose a system that incorporates virtual reality and metaverse methods into the classroom to compensate for the shortcomings of the existing remote models of practical education. Based on the proposed system, we developed an aircraft maintenance simulation and conducted an experiment comparing our system to a video training method. To measure educational effectiveness, knowledge acquisition, and retention tests were conducted and presence was investigated via survey responses. The results of the experiment show that the group using the proposed system scored higher than the video training group on both knowledge tests. As the responses given to the presence questionnaire confirmed a sense of spatial presence felt by the participants, the usability of the proposed system was judged to be appropriate.

【Abstract】The transition to eGovernment creates challenges in terms of the confidentiality and security of sensitive data of citizens and organizations. Information systems require the implementation of appropriate security mechanisms to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. Blockchain technology has the potential to transform public services, enabling administrations to organize processes and manipulate information in an innovative way. Blockchain's high level of security is an advantage over other tools and technologies used in data processing. This study examines how blockchain technology can contribute to the development of the new generation of eGovernment services and proposes an ecosystem model based on SSI (Self-Sovereign Identity) authentication and Smart Contracts between citizens and administrations. The results can be a starting point for the development of national initiatives to use the blockchain as a platform for communications and transactions in the public sector. Blockchain based electronic services provide enhanced security for governments, citizens and businesses.

Relevance of blockchain technology and the management of libraries and archives in the 4IR

【Abstract】Purpose This study aims to examine the awareness and perception of the relevance of blockchain technology in the management of libraries and archives in the fourth industrial revolution in a developing country, Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach Ten system librarians selected from five different libraries and ten archivists selected from five different archives in the Southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria represent the sample for the study. The study adopted a purely qualitative approach where data was collected through an open-ended questionnaire mailed to the participants to guide against physical contact and maintained social distancing to observe COVID-19 protocol. Findings The results reveal that both the librarians and archivists are aware of blockchain technology, its adoption and use in libraries and archives. There is a positive perception about blockchain technology believing that it can assist libraries and archives in storing information in a distributed settings through gathering, preserving and sharing authoritative information, and supports archivists in creating a unique verifiable record that can be accessed by anyone in archives. Implementation, maintenance cost and difficulty in sustainability are identified as the challenges of blockchain adoption. Research limitations/implications This study is limited to one geopolitical zone of Nigeria which necessitates the need for further research on the similar subject matter in other geopolitical zones in Nigeria. Practical implications The findings of the study have identified the need for librarians and archivists to increase their awareness and develop a positive perception toward blockchain technologies. Originality/value To the best of the authors' knowledge, this study is the first to research the relevance of blockchain technology in Nigerian libraries and archives. This paper reported the benefits libraries and archives could derive from the adoption of blockchain, and how such can improve effective services delivery to the satisfaction of the users of archives and libraries.

IPFS and Friends: A Qualitative Comparison of Next Generation Peer-to-Peer Data Networks

【Abstract】Decentralized, distributed storage offers a way to reduce the impact of data silos as often fostered by centralized cloud storage. While the intentions of this trend are not new, the topic gained traction due to technological advancements, most notably blockchain networks. As a consequence, we observe that a new generation of peer-to-peer data networks emerges. In this survey paper, we therefore provide a technical overview of the next generation data networks. We use select data networks to introduce general concepts and to emphasize new developments. Specifically, we provide a deeper outline of the Interplanetary File System and a general overview of Swarm, the Hypercore Protocol, SAFE, Storj, and Arweave. We identify common building blocks and provide a qualitative comparison. From the overview, we derive future challenges and research goals concerning data networks.

【摘要】我国的商业银行基于元宇宙目前研究的成果、元宇宙金融应用与发展的实践、元宇宙基本特征和发展逻辑的分析,站在时代的高度对元宇宙目前发展状态进行阶段性判断,客观地分析元宇宙发展可能对商业银行带来的重大挑战,探寻元宇宙在商业银行应用和发展的一般性规律和措施。即商业银行根据元宇宙应用发展趋势,必须坚定顺应元宇宙发展的大方向与目标不动摇,有序推进元宇宙在商业银行有关场景中应用,持续实施创新驱动发展战略,切实加强元宇宙金融发展中的新型风险管控,重点抓好元宇宙金融中用户隐私安全保护,不断深化商业银行的体制与机制改革。从而实现商业银行既不失去元宇宙发展带来的科技红利,又不因为盲目的介入而加大发展中的风险。

【摘要】可持续化发展进程中,企业业务、财务经营价值链管理及智能分工流程均有所细化,但信息流激增导致后台反馈不及时、不准确问题频发,阻滞创构规范性闭环财务系统。构建融合计划、核算、管控、决策于一体的“区块链+业财一体”信息系统,能够促使传统业财融合模式实现数字化转型,为双部门管理人员作出决策提供支持。文章立足于区块链技术与“业财一体”的耦合要素,结合区块链技术底层基础框架,构建基于区块链技术的企业“业财一体”信息系统。进一步地,从交叉业务运行、数据信息共建、账务资金处理三个维度,优化基于区块链技术的企业“业财一体”信息系统流程,希冀加快区块链技术与企业业财流程深度融合进程,助推企业“业财一体化”实现。

车联网中基于轨迹预测的无人机动态协同优化覆盖算法

【摘要】针对城市车联网中出现的基站覆盖空洞及局部流量过载等问题,该文提出了一种基于车辆轨迹预测信息的动态预部署方案。首先,为了训练得到统一的Seq2Seq-GRU轨迹预测模型,多个携带边缘计算服务器的无人机在分布式联邦学习与区块链的架构下,去除中心聚合节点,采取改进的Raft算法,在每轮训练中根据贡献数据量的大小,选举得到节点来完成参数聚合及模型更新任务。其次,基于模型预测结果,提出了一种改进的虚拟力向导部署算法,通过各虚拟力来引导无人机进行动态地部署以提升车辆的接入率及通信质量。仿真结果表明,所提出的训练架构能够加速模型的训练,部署算法在提升车辆接入率的同时提升了车辆与无人机之间的通信质量。

【摘要】2021年,元宇宙概念引爆扩展现实(XR)产业新一轮的快速发展,XR产业在硬件侧、软件侧、内容及应用侧均取得了重大突破。XR作为元宇宙的重要入口,面临新的机遇和新的挑战。通过分析中国扩展现实产业发展过程中面临的主要问题,提出了加大底层核心零部件降本量产的创新研发支持、打破系统软件和开发工具的技术成果转化壁垒、夯实网络新基建、增强内容生产能力等建议。

【摘要】区块链技术具有数据透明、不可篡改等特征,目前在农业领域的应用仍处于起步阶段。日本起步稍早,大力建设并完善农业科技体系,将区块链技术应用于农业,融合溯源、农业大数据、供应链、物联网等技术,建立食品可追溯系统以实现区域数据可视化,加入“块日志”推进智慧农业发展。基于日本经验分析,本文提出结合区块链技术进行产业融合发展的路径优化模型:应用农业保险与智能合约于食品可追溯系统,实现责权归属自动化;为智慧农业构建双区块链结构,兼顾可信度与隐私性,实现资产数字化。本文研究对于推动我国智慧农业发展、深度融合区块链技术具有一定现实意义。

【摘要】针对传统智能合约漏洞检测方法检测精度较低、误报率较高,以及基于神经网络的方法对字节码级智能合约特征挖掘不足的问题,提出了一种基于语义感知图神经网络的智能合约字节码漏洞检测方法。首先,以智能合约字节码划分基本块作为节点,并从字节码中提取基本块间的调用关系作为边,以此生成控制流图(control flow graph,CFG),传入图卷积神经网络(graph convolutional network,GCN)中进行训练得到图节点的特征表示;其次,对合约字节码指令序列进行分词,再转化为词向量嵌入到低维空间,传入长短期记忆(long short-term memory,LSTM)网络进行训练,得到字节码语义信息的向量表示;最后,将生成的节点特征和语义特征进行拼接后传入全连接层进行降维,结合语义信息和节点特征对智能合约进行漏洞检测。利用公开数据集中的真实智能合约进行训练和测试,在通过传统方法和人工标签的两类漏洞分类数据集中进行验证。使用本文提出的方法与3种传统智能合约漏洞检测工具及1种基于神经网络的智能合约漏洞检测方法进行对比。实验结果表明本文提出的基于语义感知图神经网络智能合约字节码漏洞检测方法在各类指标上均有较大提升,能够检测出其余4种方法未检测出的具有漏洞的合约,说明在图神经网络中加入字节码语义信息能够有效提升检测精度,降低误报率。

【摘要】为解决区块链去中心化特点与档案管理部门中心化结构之间的矛盾,文章通过分析许可链在档案管理系统中应用的优势与不足,从大量实际区块链应用案例出发,构建了许可链架构下的档案管理系统设计框架,并提出许可链成功应用于档案系统中的三个关键技术问题,最后分析判断了未来许可链在档案领域的应用前景与挑战。

【摘要】探讨区块链、分布式存储技术在电子文件可信管理中的适用性。梳理电子文件管理方式的演进,以维护电子文件真实性、可靠性、完整性、可用性为目标,构建一种基于链上链下的电子文件可信管理系统模型,并依据电子文件可信管理的目标对模型进行评价。区块链、分布式存储技术在电子文件可信管理领域具有可行性,本文提出的模型能够基本满足电子文件可信管理的要求,且具有访问控制、加密存储、高效检索等优势。为应用区块链技术实施电子文件可信管理提供了一种参考。

【摘要】区块链智能合约的法律风险凸显于限制当事人私法意思自治、引发当事人交易损失、监管缺位三个方面,分别由区块链智能合约的自动履行、兼容性强、去中心化特点所引致。对智能合约进行应用场域划分,将强智能合约限制于义务履行确定性较强的交易,能够缓解智能合约的僵硬化问题。区块链平台提供者审查义务与监管责任的明确,能够规避区块链智能合约带来的当事人损失风险。赋予政府对区块链智能合约的监管和改写权力,并废除假名机制,能够减少非法交易发生的可能,消解区块链智能合约监管缺位的合法性质疑。
